I have been here for 2 years now. I only came here for respite care but I decided to stay. I enjoy life here and I feel safe and happy. I can't wait for my family to be able to visit me again.

I have been here for 6 months and I am very grateful for the care I am having. The care staff are always very cheerful and don't talk down to us etc. The only thing I am not satisfied with is being a diabetic. I have to rely on the outside nurses to tell them how to look after that side of things after
30 years of managing myself. I have to rely on other folk doing this for me and not getting it right.

This is the most amazing care home I have ever visited! My parents have been beautifully cared for. Their care has been personalised and respectful of all their needs. My Father died of a 'heart attack' whilst residing there and the staff, not only comforted and cared for my Mum but allowed some of
the family to stay over. We were given food and drink and treated with empathy and dignity.

My father has been at Whiteoaks since September 2015 and had had a very positive experience there. The staff most of whom have been there for a long time and are kind, caring and looks after their residents really well. We, as a family are included in all decision-making activities and events during
the year which families are invited to. Fab place, very clean and amazing gardens for the residents, wouldn't have my father anywhere else.

My mother is cared for in every way necessary. She is extremely happy and very fond of all the staff who go out of their way to do everything to make her happy and comfortable.
She is very well fed from a varied menu choice each day.
The 'in house' activities are plentiful and relatives are also
catered for. We are very happy with the care mum receives and so is she, we have great peace of mind now.

We have been fortunate to have friends living at Whiteoaks Care Home, Fareham. When I visited I was treated with courtesy by staff, offered refreshments, my friend who lives there is lucky as the staff are kind, caring and love their job. The place is very well maintained, always clean and my friend
tells me of the activities and level of care they receive. The rooms are lovely - like a nice B&B. My friend is well attended to and very happy here.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.764)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.764) out of 10 for Whiteoaks Rest Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.864 for Whiteoaks Rest Home is calculated as follows: ( (109 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 118 Ratings = 4.864
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Whiteoaks Rest Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 38 registered maximum number of service users is 7.6, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
