Lawnbrook Care Home, in Portswood, Southampton, is a purpose-built Residential care home with 30 beds which are all en suite. It has beds available for a variety of residential and dementia care requirements, for long and short term stays, having additional expertise to care for dementia sufferers.

The home is also an ideal facility for people who have physical disabilities, with spacious interiors and comfortable furnishings to ensure that mobility problems are made simpler - with occupancy for couples and friends also.

An open-plan interior makes for a pleasant social setting, with private meeting areas and even a small chapel area.

The team of Carers are committed to providing excellent care and maintain the residents' person-centred care plan.

Residents are encouraged to participate in activities and events and also indulge in delicious cooked meals.

The latest digital care planning system is used by care staff to prepare a person-centred care plan and record the care that residents receive.

Mum has been in Lawnbrook for nearly one year. As a family, we cannot praise the manager and her staff highly enough. They have been thoughtful and kind, with nothing being too much trouble in their care for Mum. We highly recommend.

My mother has lived in Lawnbrook Care Home for just over four years and in that time has considered it to be her home and the staff her family. We have always felt she was safe and well looked after and has enjoyed the various activities that have been put on there.
When my mother became ill, the
care and dedication given to her was truly exceptional and we are truly thankful for that.

Wonderful party for Christmas. The residents and staff all having fun staff always listen and look after mum and others really well lovely clean home. Food is very good. Can't thank everyone enough it's good to know mum is happy and well cared for. Thank you.

My mother spent the last 15 months of her life at Lawnbrook. She kept saying it was the best decision she had made because of the high level of care and compassion. All the staff really care about the people in their care. Also, my mother said the food was the best, as she said, as you get older, it's
one of the most important, so with the care, compassion and food, this place my mum loved.

I have only known the home for 3 weeks. So far the care has been excellent, the staff are very caring, helpful and attentive.
The home is clean but in need of redecoration in places.
The carpets need replacing with hard floors if possible.
Overall, the home is good and I would recommend it.

The family are very happy with all the aspects of the care of the resident - who herself says there is nothing to complain about.
She does, however, get worried because sometimes, her clothing is lost through the laundry.

I visit my mother weekly and always find staff in this home friendly, caring and efficient.

Jocy Mathew

Job Title: home Manger Joined: 2021

After moving to the UK from India to pursue my Master’s in Public Health, I transitioned into the health and social care sector. Prior to this, I was a registered pharmacist in India.


In 2021, I joined Lawnbrook as a Senior Carer and was promoted to Head of Care in February 2022. Most recently, in 2025, I was appointed Acting Manager.


My leadership style is centred on empowering my team and fostering a collaborative, supportive work environment. I am deeply committed to ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality care to all residents. I am particularly passionate about building a strong team culture, helping staff work to the full extent of their skills and training, and continuously adapting to evolving models of care.


Outside of work, I am very family-oriented. I enjoy spending time with my family, managing my children’s busy schedules, and making the most of our days out together. I also have a strong interest in cooking, which I find both creative and relaxing.
