Lawnbrook Care Home, in Portswood, Southampton, is a purpose-built Residential care home with 30 beds which are all en suite. It has beds available for a variety of residential and dementia care requirements, for long and short term stays, having additional expertise to care for dementia sufferers.

Lawnbrooke is a very good purpose built home which provides good care and kept clean. The home has a happy atmosphere with plenty of activities, and runs efficiently.
Food and snacks are cooked fresh and daily in the kitchen with a varied menu.

I would absolutely recommend this lovely care home.
My beloved wife is receiving the highest level of care, compassion and kindness by all the Lawnbrook staff - all under the guidance of an excellent manager. A GP, community nurse, podiatrist, occupational therapist and dentist are all available if
required as well.

The staff are so kind + caring.
The location is a quiet road is so good.
It is easy to get to with plenty of parking on site. That helps a lot. My family member is settled + happy. She likes to people watch + enjoys the attention.
I think she was so bored at home.

It is a pleasure to write this review. The manager leads a great team. The staff are polite, caring and I am greatly impressed. The home is clean and welcoming. The offer of tea and biscuits are always on hand. I believe the residence are genuinely well cared and respected.

The care mum receives is very good, her needs are met. The activities are varied and the staff are loving and attentive, the home is clean and smells lovely. Meals are varied and plentiful. Overall mum is well cared, clean, fed and watered in her words.

The staff at Lawn Brook are kind, caring and competent. My mother recently broke her hip and had a stay in hospital. All the time she was in hospital she just wanted to get back to Lawn Brook because she feels so at home there. The manager at Lawn Brook, keeps things running very well. She is diligent
and effective whilst being well informed and approachable.
Our family would like to say a big thank you to all the staff for looking after mum so well and for making her feel so at home and cared for.

Lawnbrook is perfect for my Mum.
She is very well cared for nothing is too much trouble.
The level of care is really high and mum always looks clean and tidy.
The staff are approachable and all really friendly. Also the food cooked is really good quality, plenty given.
I would highly recommend
this home.
The lady has just taken over as manager and she is brilliant at what she does.

The home is welcoming, but the staff awareness is sometimes lacking. They need to think, 'what does the resident want to watch? (If they are in the main lounge area, what can they do to engage the residents? They spend so much time on the phone, for a relative it does not look good.
My mums room we
picked downstairs as they were going to plant flowers in the flower boxes on her little patio. This has not happened which is sad.

Lack of activities, residents looking bored, and as one put it it's tedious in here.
Staff speaking to each other in their own language, perhaps they should remember the residents are keeping them in a job and paying their wages. Apart from the fact that they are displaying very bad manners.
My husband
is in a care home, they have activities morning and afternoon, also English is spoken in their presence at all times. I certainly wouldn't have left him in your establishment.

Thank you for your feedback. I would like to clarify that there is no lack of activity at our facility. We offer a structured program with activities running from Monday to Friday every week. Additionally, we host special events twice a month on the first and last Thursdays, including a visit from our activity lady. An entertainer also visits once a month. While we encourage all residents to participate, we also respect their personal choices. Some residents may choose not to engage in certain activities during the afternoons, and we honor that. When a resident consistently opts out of activities, we document this in their care plan and notify their next of kin accordingly. Regarding the issue of native language, we have addressed this matter previously and are actively taking steps to ensure it is appropriately managed. If you have any concerns or observations, please feel free to speak with me directly. I'm always open to discussing how we can work together to improve.

Lawnbrook holds a truly warm place in my heart. They looked after my mum for her final 3 years with such love, compassion, humour and respect that I think they really felt like family to her. Her dementia meant she wasn't able to communicate in English much anymore, but some of the staff had the same
nationality and understood her culture and language - a list of her common phrases was distributed so all staff knew what she was saying, and one staff member even asked me if they could bring in some food from home to see if my mum remembers it. Lawnbrook really does have the individual residents' best interests at heart. It's such a clean and light environment with plenty of activities. They always mark birthdays and festivals and they were quick to communicate with me and the GP when required. Everyone was always so welcoming. When bringing mum back after her walks she always greeted all the staff so happily that I could walk away knowing my mum was safe and in very good hands.

My father is here and at end of life suffering with dementia. It is a very difficult time but the staff and nurses in particular have been amazing, compassionate and so understanding. They do an amazing job and I am very grateful.

The staff at Lawnbrook Care Home have made my mother feel safe, cared for and at home. They have always been attentive and professional when she has needed help but also warm and friendly when she wanted companionship. We feel lucky that Mum is under their care.

Job Title: home Manger Joined: 2021

After moving to the UK from India to pursue my Master’s in Public Health, I transitioned into the health and social care sector. Prior to this, I was a registered pharmacist in India.


In 2021, I joined Lawnbrook as a Senior Carer and was promoted to Head of Care in February 2022. Most recently, in 2025, I was appointed Acting Manager.


My leadership style is centred on empowering my team and fostering a collaborative, supportive work environment. I am deeply committed to ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality care to all residents. I am particularly passionate about building a strong team culture, helping staff work to the full extent of their skills and training, and continuously adapting to evolving models of care.


Outside of work, I am very family-oriented. I enjoy spending time with my family, managing my children’s busy schedules, and making the most of our days out together. I also have a strong interest in cooking, which I find both creative and relaxing.
