I viewed a few different homes prior to selecting Greenacres. All of the other homes were too clinical and lacked that "homely feeling".
The staff are fantastic. They're all friendly and make not only my mum feel welcome but the entire family.
The food always looks lovely (I haven't tried it) but there's no complaints from Mum.

Sadly my mum isn't particularly social, however there are always great activities / enrichment going on and regularly have visits from animals!

My husband has been a resident at Greenacres Care Home since February. The staff are compassionate and caring, and the home is warm and welcoming. The facilities are excellent with a strong focus on safety. Activities are varied with themed events for holidays, visits from domestic animals, and regular outings in the minibus. My husband was taken to a football game. He's been a fan for 82 years and he had a wonderful time! There are plenty of organised activities and celebratory events, including Valentine's, St Patrick's, Halloween and many more, not forgetting Christmas and New Year. The Christmas decorations are fantastic this year. The talented kitchen team prepare delicious, meals

If you're looking for a care home where your loved one will be treated with kindness, dignity, and respect, Greenacres is the place. It has given me peace of mind knowing that my husband is happy and content here.

My Auntie has always been treated with respect and is very happy with the lovely staff here at Greenacres, having had previous experience at this care home with my late Mum, I had no hesitation in her being cared for here.
The staff treat all residents with love and care that you would expect from a family environment.
I can't speak highly enough of the staff here, and are always happy to chat about anything concerning that you might have.
I'm also very impressed the way they engage residents in daily activities, too many to mention but range from singing, dancing, chair exercises, flower arranging, food prep, trips out to garden centres, shopping trips.
I have seen many care homes with my work as an visiting Electrician in previous years and none come close to Greenacres.
Some look like hotels but the care is sadly lacking.

Our family are so pleased my Auntie is being cared for here.

An excellent and friendly staff who will go out of their way to advise and help residents. The building itself has gradually been upgraded, painted and new, cleaner and more attractive settings been introduced. The overall impact and "feel" of the care home is a reflection of the work and input of the carers and especially menton should go to the standard, variation and inventiveness of the food provided to residents.

Reply from Debbie Gilard, Head of Corporate Services at Greenacres

Thank you for your lovely review. We're so pleased to hear that you find our team friendly and supportive, and that the upgrades to the home have made a positive difference. My brother has been living at Greenacres for 6 weeks now and he is settling in with the help of the dedicated, professional, compassionate staff, who are highly trained in dementia care. The staff at Greenacres are genuinely kind and caring individuals who treat him with dignity and respect, as a person, getting to know his history, interests and preferences which makes such a difference to his well-being. A well-maintained, safe, welcoming environment, lots of activities. Highly recommend.

What a lovely place to be! Since my mother-in-law became a resident she's eating better and has settled in better than expected. The food is very good and often food is offered to me when I visit at lunch or dinner times. The staff are very accommodating with visitors also. I find it to be a very relaxing environment considering. Also very happy with how clean and well-kept everything is. I am very grateful for the carers and everything they do.

This is a wonderful home. I’ve never had an experience of a residential care home before, so was worried when Mum was placed here, but I couldn’t have asked for a more home-from-home and loving place to be. The staff make it what it is, from management through to the lovely carers. They are so lovely and do genuinely care about their residents. They do great activities for the residents and I have no worries with Mum. She is very well cared for and I can see she is genuinely happy. My friends and family also agree after visiting her and seeing what they do on their social media page. I love this place and couldn’t be happier.

My mum has been a resident in Greenacres since February 2023. As a family, it was a very upsetting time, but our wonderful mum was no longer safe living independently, due to a deterioration in her mental and physical state.
All the staff, including the manager, carers, play co-ordinators and housekeepers have been absolutely wonderful. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they are so kind, caring and professional. There is a wonderful atmosphere, with music and different activities taking place. You can tell they are such a great team, as they are always happy, dancing and singing with the other residents which is so lovely. The food always looks appetising and Mum is provided with plenty of cups of tea and snacks, at her request.
Mum is so well looked after, and it has made us all so happy.
The most important thing is that Mum loves it there.

We can't thank them all enough.

Greenacres is a wonderful care home. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff are professional and friendly. They are always ready to listen to relatives and act on requests, such as making sure Mum is on the list to have her hair done or if Mum is not feeling well ensuring Mum is visited by the doctor.

Muom is very fortunate to be cared for by such loving, caring, happy staff who always have her best interests at heart. The wonderful activities team ensure Mum is stimulated with a wide variety of projects and outings or carried out with enthusiasm.

My mother passed away last week after having been a resident at Greenacres for the past four years following a stroke that change her life. She had dementia, was non-verbal and couldn't walk. Lockdowns have restricted visiting and so contact became available via Facetime. Unfortunately, she couldn't understand and became more confused. For long periods the carers became her family.
The care has always been exemplary and we knew that she was safe, looked after and happy in her own world. Mum would always smile when the regular carers came into her room and was even happier when she was wheeled out into the garden for a cigarette.

We are very grateful for all that the carers did for our mum.

My mother has been here for over two years and in that time I have always found everything satisfactory. The staff I have met are always friendly and welcoming. Our experience visiting my mother in the care home has been very good. The staff are very helpful and try to resolve any queries we have about my mother's care. The use of the garden would be nice for the residents and family in the summer as most residents are unable to go outside for fresh air. The staff have been excellent working with the stress of Covid. We are grateful for their help and care.
