I have visited Margaret House a few times now the most recent being today for a Dementia information session. The staff are so welcoming and the atmosphere in this care home is lovely. Very clean home, with lovely gardens.

We placed our aunt in the care of Margaret House 4 years ago when we moved into the area. We visited a lot of Residential Care homes before selecting one and this was by far the best in the area. The staff are very solicitous and they know my aunt well. Not only are my aunt's physical needs met, but her mental and emotional needs are too. The care has been brilliant and we have not been disappointed with it. If we have concerns we mention it and the issues are addressed immediately.

I can't comment on value for money as I do not know about this aspect. The staff are always very friendly and supportive to me and all their residents. The activities provided are great and they try to include everyone.

I have been a resident of this care home for about 15 months. Right from the very beginning, I have felt very happy, safe in an excellent home. You couldn't wish for better staff and carers. The home is like a hotel and our wish is their command. Whatever one's problem or illness etc they are always there for you, to sort it out.

As far as I am concerned it is perfect and the residents are treated with care and respect. I love it!

Overall Experience

My father was a resident in Philomena Unit for the last year of his life. During that time he was extremely well cared for and always treated with dignity and respect. His room was comfortable and kept spotlessly clean, as were all the communal areas. However, the real strength of this home is its staff. They are exceptional; caring and compassionate, they create a warm, welcoming and happy atmosphere for residents and visitors alike. I could not fault their care of my father in his final few weeks and that care was extended to the family as well. All in all, an excellent home.

After a long period of illness, my mother has flourished in the environment of Margaret House and as a result of the care provided. It is a very homely environment, unlike most residential homes. A great deal of thought has gone into providing a home in which all residents seem to feel comfortable and relaxed. Would recommend it to anyone!

Following hospitalisation, my mother-in-law arrived with some misgivings. Happily, her doubts evaporated very quickly. The care she received was of the highest order, thus enabling her to regard Margaret House as her home. She loved having her hair and nails done weekly, also her roast lunches.

Mum is very happy in Margaret House. It is a lovely home with very caring staff. I am very grateful that I know she is so well looked after. Any issue, however small, is immediately communicated to me. She is kept an eye on throughout the night and after a bout of somnambulism which led to falls, the staff worked out ways to keep her safe so that she has had no accidents for months now. I have recommended the home to many friends looking for care.

This residential home has excellent staff and facilities in an extremely pleasant environment. My mother could not have been better placed in the remaining years of her life. The staff are dementia trained and offer activities appropriate to each resident. My mother was treated extremely well in a kind and dignified environment.

She was very happy and secure in all her days at the home.

My mother has been in this care home for three weeks. She has been well cared for and treated with dignity and respect. The staff have been kind and willing to help her in every way. Her room was bright, her meals on the whole good. There was always an alternative meal if she did not like what was offered.
