Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Mum has dementia and seven years ago went into Rosslyn Court Care Home.
I've visited regularly and highly recommend it.
Visitors are welcome and greeted warmly.
The carers and other staff are kind, efficient, know each client's needs and are prompt to deal with them.
There is zero tolerance of
staff failing to meet the high standards of care.
Meals are good and dietary needs catered for.
There's a family atmosphere and the staff arrange parties for birthdays, Christmas, Easter etc and summer barbeques often with music.
There is regular keep fit, hairdressing, chiropody, dentist, optician and others coming in for clients.
Medical needs are always dealt with promptly with a doctor or ambulance called.
Doctors and nurses come in regularly as required.
The fees are very reasonable and fair based on clients' needs.

The staff are constant, friendly and dedicated to their residents. They are always reviewing their residents care plans to ensure that they receive the best quality of life and care possible. The atmosphere is always very welcoming and happy. The staff provide my mother with assistance in eating
and drinking and provide her with excellent personal care. This is the first time since my mother has been diagnosed with dementia that I feel peace of mind that she is being well cared for and is safe in her surroundings.
There is regular entertainment provided either by people coming in to play music or in-house games and fun. They provide excellent parties at Christmas and Easter and summer garden parties.

The rooms are cosy, clean and comfortable and each room has an en-suite shower and toilet. We are encouraged to make our relatives rooms as personal as possible so that they feel they are in their own home from home environment.

Well managed home with a good, permanent staff team who work well together. The team are pro-active and constantly assessing each individual, making changes to care provided where necessary. Equally, requests from relatives/friends are listened to and put into place if practicable and of benefit to
the resident. Regular activities including exercise, singing, board games, gardening (indoor and out). Visits from musicians themed parties celebrating birthdays or cultural occasions. All residents have a birthday cake with candles. Rosslyn Court is a happy place, all are made welcome. There is a large well-maintained garden at the back, which is well used in good weather. My husband is in late stage Alzheimers Disease and has other health problems. He has been a resident there since last summer and his care is second to none. I have peace of mind knowing that he is in a safe and caring environment and where I am able to be with him as often as I wish in relaxed and caring surroundings.
Reply from Mr S Sudera, Provider at Rosslyn Residential CareWe acknowledge and thank you for your feedback, Christine. Our efforts are focused on ensuring all-round caring environment with support from management, staff and relatives.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.686)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.686) out of 10 for Rosslyn Residential Care is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 13 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.861 for Rosslyn Residential Care is calculated as follows: ( (133 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 151 Ratings = 4.861
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.825 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rosslyn Residential Care is based on 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 13 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
