I am happy at Woodside. The staff are very supportive. Recently they helped me to move all my belongings from my previous address and I'm so happy about this. I'm going out regularly and I'm supported by the activities coordinator. All the staff are always kind and helpful.

My mum has been in the care home since March 2021 and there has not been one occasion where I have regretted the decision to place her there.

The staff are very caring and the manager leads in this aspect with her caring attitude not only towards the residents but also towards the families of the residents. The home is very homely and one always feels welcome when visits take place.

Mum went into Woodside in May. She has dementia but has settled very quickly. The staff are all very caring and compassionate and look after her with great kindness. The staff are never too busy to stop and talk to residents and family alike and any questions are always answered.

From the very first enquiries, I found the management extremely helpful and compassionate to the needs of my mum-in-law. This level of support continued through mum's induction. I have found all the staff extremely helpful and friendly and always willing to listen and interact with mum. It really is refreshing to see that they are always happy to sit with mum and listen, chat and smile with her. This makes such a big difference to her well-being.

Woodside residents are named “Our Family” as the staff treat the residents like their own. Their compassion, understanding, kindness, empathy is on another level. My Mother has advanced dementia and very complex medical needs and these are managed by amazing nurses and carers - who work tirelessly to do their best by her and keep us updated and involved. The manager is an angel who came into our lives at the most difficult time - I can’t even describe how much she’s done to help transition my Mother into care, to support us at this heartbreaking time, and also support us through her challenging health issues and continuous dementia journey. All the staff understand that dementia is “expression not aggression” and are even campaigning to help people living with dementia to be understood and looked after in the best way. Their strategies for every resident are different, they’ll calm my Mother by singing a local folk song she knows!

My Nan had only recently moved into Woodside nursing home, as she had just come out of hospital. Sadly, my nan passed away this weekend but I am reassured that the staff were with her until the end. I strongly believe she felt it was her time to go because she was at peace, as she had the opportunity to see her children and felt loved and secure in her new home. Thank you.

My dad has been a resident at Woodside since July and as a family we can not of asked for better care for him. He always looks happy and I can see he has formed good relationships with some of the staff. The manager is dedicated to every resident and the staff are very hardworking. The home always looks clean and smells nice too! My dad is given fresh home-cooked meals and is always given a variety of dishes. As a family it wasn’t an easy decision for my dad to be in residential care, however, him being in Woodside is reassuring as he is looked after so well.

Mum has been a resident at Woodside for 9 months now and I can honestly say that I wouldn't want her to be anywhere else. The quality of care shown by the manager and her team has been excellent. Throughout lockdown the manager was constantly in touch letting us know Mum was OK, this was very reassuring.

I would just like to praise the manager and her staff, what a lovely, kind caring person the manager really is. My nana has recently gone into her new forever home and in these horrible uncertain times it’s been really hard and worrying about finding my nan the right place, we are sure we have made the right decision. We have had plenty of help and reassurance that has certainly put our minds at ease. The manager completely has the right attitude and puts her residents first I can clearly see this, it’s not very often you come across these sort of people in life. Well done Woodside I appreciate all of you’re kindness and taking care of my nana means the world and more.

The last three months have been really tough not being able to visit my Dad who has been a resident at woodside for just over 2 years
I have been so touched and reassured by the commitment of the staff and particularly the home's manager who has kept us updated and shown true transparency and compassion to not only the residents but to the families too.

Since her appointment we have seen the home flourish into a family unit, the staff appear so happy and show true togetherness, having witnessed this first hand it gave me peace of mind that my father would be cared for to the highest of quality whilst the "lockdown" thank you so much you're all incredible

The situation over the last three months during the COVID-19 crisis has been extremely challenging for residents, staff and relatives. My wife has been resident in the home throughout the period. The manager and staff have been excellent in keeping me and my family updated on the situation, developments in the home and how my wife is through emails, the closed Facebook group and phone calls. They have also facilitated regular contact with my wife through FaceTime.

I and our two sons can't thank them enough for their love, care and consideration.

I would like to firstly give my heartfelt thanks to all the staff and the home manager at Woodside.
Throughout this tough time, I have been supported and reassured at all times and the Manager has done everything in her power to give my family peace of mind.
I know that Woodside had COVID however the home fought and remained united and strong.
They gave us regular updates and supported and loved my father like one of their own family.

I am forever grateful. You’re all wonderful.

On my first visit, my first impressions were I thought it looked rather unloved from the outside but on going inside, I was very impressed by the friendly, helpful staff who always offer me a drink. The staff are very attentive and the manager also excellent. They try to keep the patients entertained and they are very good at communicating with the families.

I have found the carers are very good to my best friend and when I ask a question they are very helpful. He had a bad stroke and cannot talk and no movement in one of his arms. They have the care and passion to listen to his very little speech but they seem to get to know what he wants and they do very well for him.

Since our father has lived at Woodside his health has greatly improved: he's gained weight, has had no infections and no hospital admissions. He has his personal possessions around him, which give him great comfort.

Our father has been diagnosed with dementia. He now takes medication and we are pleased to see that his dementia hasn't deteriorated at all in the past 6 months. We think this is because he has no stress, he has good health, he's made positive relationships with his care staff, he's never lonely and he's well cared for.

There are a number of staff that I see on a regular basis - we visit weekly. They are courteous and caring and they listen to our father - who can be vocal with his needs (and rightly so as he's trying to maintain his dependence as much as he can).

We would like to thank the kind caring staff. As a family, we have worked hard to make this placement work for our father, as this will be the last home he knows. I am glad we have chosen Woodside.

My father experienced the highest class of care from everyone at Woodside in the last months of his life and chose to stay there instead of going home. I was very impressed with his care and enjoyed the meetings with the management and all other staff and the happy atmosphere that the home had about the place. I was kept up to date very regularly about anything that was happening. Overall I was happy that I had found a place where my father was happy and looked after by amazing staff and I would recommend Woodside care home to everybody I know who needs top care for great value. Many thanks to all the staff and management. Thanks very much.

Mihaela SultanJob Title:Home managerJoined: 2022

With 15 years of experience as an Emergency Services Nurse in my home country and a Registered General Nurse in the UK, I have gained valuable knowledge in the healthcare industry.

When I moved to the UK, I started as a Care Assistant in a care home. It allowed me to understand the care home environment better.

Later on, I pursued more challenging roles such as Unit Manager and Deputy Manager before reaching my current position as a Care Home Manager. As a person, I believe I am fair, firm, honest, and loyal. I am proud and stubborn when it comes to my job and the care home, including the residents and staff. I am dedicated to ensuring that the needs of my residents and staff are met to provide high-quality care and a comfortable living environment for my residents.

Aside from work, I love to travel and explore new places. I also enjoy watching films, listening to music, and spending time with animals. It is an honour to lead our team and provide compassionate care to our residents.
