I came to see Anthony on his birthday 20/7/26. He was very happy, well dressed & clean. I didn't get a chance to see his room as we were in the garden singing happy birthday and listening to music. Staff were great, as always.

Overall Experience
My dear aunt, now in her mid-nineties, has been an Elmstead resident for several years now. She has a strong personality & can be quite demanding. Despite her dementia she knows what she wants & what she doesn't want! The staff have always supported her with patience, calm & kindness. Although I am restricted by other responsibilities & cannot visit as often as I would like the staff always update me by phone & I feel connected & reassured by their commitment & communication. Difficult things like end of life care planning have been handled with sensitivity & compassion. There are regular relatives meetings as well as seasonal parties & celebrations. The practical aspects of daily living like laundry & food, toiletries & personal care (chiropody, hairdressing, nail painting) are important parts of the support structure provided by a team of smiling & pleasant staff all of whom I am on first name terms with.

Thank you everyone for creating a pleasant, safe & secure place to be.

Overall Experience
As an MND patient, well catered for. From the moment I entered the care home I was greeted with a warm smile and kind words by every member of staff I met. Nurses, cleaners, carers, helpers administrators and managers showed consideration for my emotional as well as physical needs. I was so impressed at their hard work, often in difficult circumstances with patients in distress, when situations were dealt with calmly and gently whilst teams were multitasking in a professional manner.
After it was established with a short escorted trip that I could safely use my electric chair outside, I appreciated the fact that I was treated with dignity and allowed to leave the home at will and go into the village.
Above all I would like to emphasise the way all staff found the time to talk to me in such a warm friendly manner whilst they were working so hard.

Kind people, from Yorkshire, Ukraine India, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Poland . I am grateful that such diverse nationals are able to work for us

My mother has been very well looked after since moving into this care home, and I couldn't be happier with the care she receives. Every member of staff is kind, compassionate, and always makes both my mother and our family feel welcome.
The team works incredibly hard and always treats the residents with dignity, patience, and respect. It's reassuring to know that my mother is safe, comfortable, and cared for by people who genuinely care about her wellbeing.

The home is always clean, well organised, and has a warm, friendly atmosphere. I really appreciate everything the staff do every day, and I would like to thank them for their dedication and support. I would happily recommend this care home to anyone looking for excellent care for a loved one.

Review of Barton Lodge from Francis G (Husband of Resident) published on 10 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My wife has been at Barton Lodge since September 2025. She is settled and content there. It has been hard for me to see her in a carehome but I know it is the best place for her, she is so well cared for, it is lovely to see her relationships grow with the other service users and staff, it gives me piece of mind knowing she is so well cared for. I even join in with some of the activities when I am there with her (not the nail painting one though !) All our family members are always welcomed, even when its 4 generations, and the great grandkids are running around, the other ladies really enjoy seeing them also. The staff also look after me when I am visiting, if I am unable to walk down to her they will bring her to me in the reception area or garden, offering us tea/coffee and cakes.

This is a wonderful care home with excellent facilities and a genuinely warm, welcoming atmosphere. It truly feels like a home from home. Having experienced other care homes with family members, I can honestly say this one is leaps and bounds above the rest.

The staff are friendly, caring, and always willing to go the extra mile-nothing is ever too much trouble. They make both residents and families feel valued and welcome. The residents always seem happy and engaged, with a great range of activities to enjoy. The lovely, well-maintained garden and tasteful décor create a comfortable environment. The home feels safe and secure without ever feeling restrictive. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this care home to anyone looking for compassionate, high-quality care in a place that truly feels like home.

Review of Hill House Care Home from Roona D (Mother of Resident) published on 7 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mother stayed at Hill House for 3 weeks whilst she was recovering from a total knee replacement. She was very comfortable there, it is a clean, welcoming environment, and the staff were very helpful. Tanja, the manager, addressed any concerns we had, and was a pleasure to communicate with throughout my mother's stay. I would have no hesitation in recommending Hill House.

I came to visit my aunt, and when I arrived, the staff kindly asked if I would mind waiting as she had gone to the temple. I was very impressed by this, as it showed they actively support residents in enjoying activities outside the home.
While I was waiting, the Home Manager warmly invited me to join a birthday celebration for one of the residents. I was delighted to join. The staff had made a delicious chocolate cake using allergy-friendly ingredients, which was served as dessert. It tasted amazing. The kitchen team had also prepared refreshing milkshakes, which were especially appreciated during the hot weather.
I noticed that all the staff and managers were fully engaged with the residents, ensuring everyone was included and enjoying themselves. Family members were also invited to the celebration, creating a lovely, welcoming atmosphere where everyone could celebrate together.

When my aunt returned from the temple, she looked very happy and blessed.

Review of Pranam Care Centre from Dhaval G (Friend of Resident) published on 24 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
I visited this care home in June 2026 while accompanying a friend to see his uncle. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the high standards maintained throughout the home. The premises were spotless, well-organised, and provided a calm, comfortable environment that promoted residents' wellbeing.
During the visit, I observed positive interactions between staff and residents, which reflected a culture of dignity, respect, and compassion. The manager was visible and actively engaged with residents, relatives, and staff members. Her professionalism, warmth, and commitment to delivering excellent care were clearly evident.
The dining experience was another notable aspect of the home. Residents were offered a varied menu with nutritious, freshly prepared meals, along with additional refreshments and snacks tailored to individual preferences and dietary needs. It was reassuring to see such attention given to maintaining residents' health and quality of life.

Highly Recommended.

I came to the care home as I was left alone in my home and unable to look after myself properly. When I came to the home I was taken taken care of and made to feel very much at home and wanted.

I would recommend the care home to anyne who was have to come out of hospital and had no close relatives or friends able to take care of me. I consider I have been very lucky in coming to the home and thank them for all the care and help that they have given to me while I have been here and hope I can continue to stay for a lot longer and have their help.
