My father George is a regular respite client and has used Barton Lodge many times.
I find the staff very accommodating and genuine care / nursing staff who take a real interest in the residents.
The environment offers residents many spaces and activities due to its modern layout.
I noticed a great
selection of foods being offered which take into account all residents preferences, cultural and dietary needs.
The staff whilst I recognise work within what sometimes could be considered demanding all seem to enjoy their work and get a long in an inclusive workforce. I suggest the management within the home deliver great management and supervision to the staff.
I would suggest this home for all types of residents needs as they assess and place within a suitable space.
It is very hard to send loved ones into care and I would suggest that you visit the home and maybe send your loved one on a trial basis before decisions are made.
Laura & Rebecca from management are very approachable.

I have found the care in the home to be excellent. My husband is treated with great care and all the carers are kind, considerate and always working to make living in the home a pleasant time, as best they can depending on the health of the resident. I could not wish for better care and attention.

Mum has only been at Woodside for a couple of months after her last care home couldn't cope with her needs. I've been very impressed, as has her social worker, with the care she gets. Mum has very demanding needs & the staff have been amazing with her, I couldn't ask for more from them. The manager
& staff are all lovely & very welcoming. They keep me updated with any issues or just when she's 'resident of the day' when they call to chat about her. The home itself is not a purpose built home but it has a homely charm all of its own. I've only seen a few of the activities but they've been good & the singer is brilliant!
I take my hat off to the staff who are always so lovely, especially to mum even when she's having a bad day & have got to know her & her needs & for this, I thank them!

I and all my family were so happy with the care and kindness shown to our mum/nan and also to us. We were very nervous of leaving her but the staff were so reassuring and patient with us.The staff are amazing, everyone is always cheerful and helpful. The only complaint would be the food, my mum found
it very bland.

I just want to say how incredibly grateful I am for the care and support you give to my friend. It brings me so much comfort knowing she is in such a safe, caring, and supportive environment.
The staff are always kind, patient, and respectful, and it's clear that they genuinely care about her wellbeing
and happiness. She is always clean, comfortable, and well-presented when I visit, and the home itself is warm, welcoming, and well looked after.
What stands out the most is how you treat her with dignity and compassion. You take the time to understand her needs, listen to her, and make her feel valued. I can see that she feels settled and cared for, which means everything to those of us who love her.
Thank you for the amazing work you do every single day. It truly makes a difference.

My friend HS has been staying at Woodside, and he's always told me how kind and caring the staff have been. They've supported him with his health needs, appointments, and daily care with real patience, and communication has always been open and reassuring. I'm his only friend here, and been a big part
of his life, so seeing him treated with such respect has meant a lot. He's now preparing to return to India, and the home has worked incredibly hard to make this possible, handling the practical steps and keeping his wellbeing at the centre of everything. This move means so much to him, especially with his health issues and his family being so far away. From what I've seen, Woodside has truly gone above and beyond, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

My mum was a resident at woodside for a couple of years. The care she received when she first arrived was great. Staff were kind and caring, manager was helpful, food was good, the room was small but adequate, but the toilet in the room was not usable. As time went on care deteriorated. My mum ended
up with bed sores, she had a broken arm which could not be explained, lots of male staff looking after personal care after i had requested this should stop. As a family we felt like we were not listened to. The only consistent at the home was the long term staff who always kept us informed.
Reply from Lucian Balog, Operations Manager at WoodsideThank you for your review. We are responding on behalf of the team at Woodside, who have consistently worked with professionalism and care to support your mother.

As your mother's needs changed, her care was regularly reviewed and the situation was appropriately reported, reviewed, and investigated by all relevant authorised healthcare professionals and organisations. These processes and outcomes were discussed openly at the time, and you confirmed that you were satisfied with how the matters were addressed.

Unfortunately, some deterioration can form part of the natural progression of complex health conditions despite appropriate care and intervention. Throughout this period, we worked transparently with you, explored all available options, and focused on maintaining your mother's comfort, dignity, and wellbeing.

My mum is currently being cared for in Barton Lodge and I am really happy with the care mum receives. The staff are professional, caring, polite, cheerful and kind. I am a retired nurse myself - and this is my mum who I love dearly so it wasnt easy to find the right place but we are very happy with
the care here and the choice we made.

Our mum came to Barton Lodge in March, and from the first day the staff have made her feel welcome, safe and comfortable, which gives us great peace of mind. She is always clean and tidy as are all other residents. The home is always clean and welcoming. There are lots of different activities, including
keep fit and different entertainment as well as residents and family parties. We would like to thank all the staff for the fantastic work they do, which has been a lifeline for us as a family during difficult circumstances.

Lovely warm entrance and environment. Reception staff always helpful. The care is exceptional and nothing is too much trouble, from finding a blanket that my mum likes to providing medical care. My mum is very happy, she enjoys the company and feels very safe. Carers are always visible and interact
with residents. There is a high standard of care at Barton Lodge. I feel very lucky that my mum is a member of their community.

My mother has been at resident in Woodside for nearly two years now. Although the property is not a bespoke care home it has charm but more than this, the care team are incredible. They treat residents with a high level of care and support relating to individual needs. There is a real personal
element that helps the resident and family cope with the trauma of dementia and the needs which can no longer be provided in the home situation. Woodside recently held a lovely 70th wedding anniversary for my parents which included a beautifully laid table and menu with a delicious meal. We were able to invite some special friends and relatives enabling my mum and dad to enjoy the day with a fantastic cake. We are able to visit mum whenever which is a huge benefit to my dad, who struggles with the separation that my mums needs has meant. We are always met with a smile and all the team are so welcoming and engaging.
I could say so much more. Thank you Woodside.

From the moment my dad arrived at Barton Lodge, we felt very reassured that he was in a lovely place and in good hands. Throughout his stay, we repeatedly saw the kind, expert, compassionate, patient, thorough and attentive care my dad was given by the whole team. Knowing that my dad was there - in
such a lovely, safe environment and being so well cared for - gave us complete peace of mind. My dad was calm and 'at home' at Barton Lodge and we are so grateful to all the staff for everything they did for him. Thank you.

The staff and carers are so friendly, helpful and caring. Whenever I visit, there is always someone popping in to see my mum to check on her and attend to her needs. I am always made to feel welcome. The home is always clean and tidy and well maintained. My mum particularly enjoyed the summer barbecue
this year which I also attended and she is pleased with the garden outside her window following
Various gardening days arranged by the home, her garden and those surrounding it look lovely and colourful. I would not even consider using a different care home as this one is so good.
