Could not ask for a better place for my mother. Staff are wonderful and caring and nothing is too much trouble if they can help they will. Special mention to the home manager who is doing a great job managing this nursing home.

I would recommend this home to everyone.

Very impressed with all the staff and the high standard of care. We moved Grandad from another care home to Woodside, and he settled in quickly, with all the staff making him feel really welcome. There is a lovely friendly atmosphere as soon as you walk through the front door.

Care Home Manager is brilliant.
Care Home Nurses are competent and effective.
Care Home Carers are loving, kind, and take time to help the people in their care - e.g. with eating/drinking.
Other Care Home staff (catering, entertainment, cleaning) are just as good.
Agency staff are a bit variable.

Mum went into Woodside for respite care when we could no longer look after her at home. She became a permanent resident when her condition worsened. She died at Woodside in September 2018.

Overall Experience

My cousin, having been accepted by the home for respite care as the result of a fall and being confused, has already shown signs of improvement as the result of the kind and patient care she has received from the staff. Also from the regular meals, pleasant room and surroundings. She seems content and appreciates the company of other residents and realises that she no longer is worried by the stress of having to manage her everyday life as a single person on her own.

Mum was very well cared for. The home is clean and well organised. The food is fresh and she enjoyed meal times. The residents are not left in front of the television all day, as there is a good range of activities that are appropriate and enjoyable. I always felt mum was safe as the communication between the home and the relatives is excellent. I was updated as soon as there was any cause for concern. I was able to visit anytime day or night. All my emails were answered promptly. I would recommend Woodside care home.

My mother-in-law came to Woodside Care Home in early February 2018. Her room was bright, airy and very homely. There were events for her every day. So she was always with people - both other residents and care staff. The care was the best we could have wished for. She was attended to whenever she needed it. Towards the end of her life, she was bed bound but her care increased and she was never left alone for long. We are very happy with Woodside, the management, all the wonderful carers and nurses.

All very good.
Caring home, staff are like a large family.
Doesn't feel like a care home.

If I need full-time care at a later stage I want to be coming back here.

This home has a wonderful welcoming feel as soon as you reach the front door.
The staff are lovely and caring and the manager has everyone's best interests at heart.
They offer a wide range of fun activities and it is apparent how much the residents enjoy this.
They offer fantastic, personalised care and do their utmost to meet all needs.

My Nan was there for respite and they made her feel so welcome and knowing that makes me give the manager and the team 10/10.

My mum wasn't at Woodside very long before she sadly passed away, but while she was there, she was extremely well looked after. The management and all the care staff were so lovely, caring and attentive not only to her but to all their residents at all times, Every effort is made to tailor each person's needs, along with providing stimulating and fun activities. A clean and friendly home, run very efficiently, I would recommend them without hesitation.

It was a terrible time for us, as a family, when we realised that my Father would no longer be able to stay at home with us and needed much more care than we could provide. We were absolutely so happy to find Woodside. Dad was so content. Kindness, caring and patience come before everything else there. The staff were so good to him and as an ex-guardsman, he did have very high standards! I know I can't use names, but, he was spoiled. They really couldn't have gone out of their way more to make him feel at home. I wanted my Father to end his days at home with me, happy, the fact that he didn't is heartbreaking but I am consoled to know he died happy. He spent his last months looking out at a view over open fields, staff chatting, making the most of staff's willingness to cater to his funny little whims and generally, having a peaceful, happy end of life experience. This is the home that really listens to their residents and gives them what THEY ask for and it is a happier place for that.

Mihaela SultanJob Title:Home managerJoined: 2022

With 15 years of experience as an Emergency Services Nurse in my home country and a Registered General Nurse in the UK, I have gained valuable knowledge in the healthcare industry.

When I moved to the UK, I started as a Care Assistant in a care home. It allowed me to understand the care home environment better.

Later on, I pursued more challenging roles such as Unit Manager and Deputy Manager before reaching my current position as a Care Home Manager. As a person, I believe I am fair, firm, honest, and loyal. I am proud and stubborn when it comes to my job and the care home, including the residents and staff. I am dedicated to ensuring that the needs of my residents and staff are met to provide high-quality care and a comfortable living environment for my residents.

Aside from work, I love to travel and explore new places. I also enjoy watching films, listening to music, and spending time with animals. It is an honour to lead our team and provide compassionate care to our residents.
