Mayfair Lodge is a purpose built care home situated within the heart of Potters Bar, benefiting from excellent transport links. The home offers residential care, specialist dementia care as well as respite care. There's also a day care centre within the home, offering support for older individuals who live within the community.

Mayfair Lodge has a dedicated activity worker who ensures that there are plenty of activities available for residents to choose from.

The home's interior includes a number of inviting lounges and dining rooms as well as cosy corners, themed areas and more. Each of the bedrooms in Mayfair Lodge include en-suite facilities with shower and each benefits from wi-fi connectivity and a television as well as a nurse call system for additional peace of mind.

Deciding that a loved one needs a care home is hard and Mayfair Lodge get this: my mother was there 3 years and I cannot fault the quality of care that she was given or the openness and understanding with which the family were treated.
The home is bright and airy, with an environment that is designed
to be stimulating, yet familiar to residents. What marks this home out is the relationship between staff members and residents. My mother was not always easy, but they relentlessly saw the good in her. The home is often ringing with laughter and there is usually music playing. Staff know the resident's quirks and foibles and go out of their way to keep them engaged and happy.
When my mother began to fade, they responded with real compassion, keeping me updated by phone and welcoming visits at any time. The home is brilliantly managed and liaison with local medical teams is superb. I will always be grateful for the tenderness with which my mother was treated and the support that I was given.

I cannot really fault Mayfair Lodge. It is clean and has a lovely atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and always take time to talk to you, they always take time to talk to you, they always phone me if my dad has any problems or had a doctor's visit. They really made an effort to make sure Dad was
comfortable and all visitors are offered tea and cake on visits. Nothing is too much trouble.

Staff have been helpful and kind every time I have had dealings with them. On both, arranged and ad-hoc visits, have found the home to be very clean and orderly. I had several contacts made by them regarding my mum's wellbeing.

My mother-in-law seems so happy at Mayfair Lodge. We have just attended the Platinum Jubilee celebrations that the home put on for the residents and their families. What an amazing job they all did. So much effort when into the planning of this. The decorations, bunting, BBQ, and music and bringing
everyone outside to make it a really fun afternoon for everyone. I want to give a particular call out to two members of staff who particularly stood out in my family's opinion, who really gave special attention to all the residents and guests.

Very clean and caring. Home is situated for people having to travel for visiting within a happy atmosphere. Outside space has well cared for gardens. Activities seem restricted due to COVID, and I hope these will improve when lifted.

Staff were preparing for a Christmas buffet lunch/games on the morning we visited. (16th December) We have been very pleased with our dad's care since he moved to Mayfair Lodge about 6 months ago. He always looks very well looked after and the home is clean and comfortable.

The care home are professional and courteous and I'm glad they hold similar values as does my place of work (NHS).
It's a shame I had to bring in his own room heater, as he felt the heating was inadequate. He was given the wrong laundry or his clothes would go missing/not be returned shortly after
being given to be washed.

Very pleasant morning sitting in the garden with my mum looking at the birds flying in and out of the garden.

No one wishes a loved one to go into care especially during COVID when you can't visit or be near them. However, Mayfair Lodge have been wonderful, they have treated my mum with such kindness and this has been through all the staff. It's been above and beyond what I expected and the fact she has shown

Friendly staff, helpful and caring. Went out of their way to chat, make me feel welcome as a visitor while making my elderly friend feel at home and comfortable during a garden visit. Extremely sensitive carer helped my friend to begin drinking her tea, carefully encouraging. Thank you to all the staff.

Visiting my mother is a great joy. It will be so much better when we have no masks or gloves to wear.
Mum was moved to Mayfair Lodge from her previous home when it closed. I have only spent a small amount of time visiting Mum here so I find it difficult to describe her room or her daily surroundings,
but where I have been is very clean and the staff are all wonderful. In time I hope to get to know them better.
I'm unable to comment on food and drink, rooms, activities, safety/security or value for money.

Mum was in the care of Mayfair Lodge for 6 years, she passed away on the 27th December 2017. My wife and myself have nothing but praise for the care and attention Mum received during her stay. I have been out with the unit manager to buy a new fish tank for the resident's lounge. The fish are to come
in a couple of weeks.

The home puts on different, daily activities for each unit to meet the individual needs of the residents and often takes photographs to show the residents, (as part of an enjoyable reminiscence activity later on), as well as their families. From greeting visitors to recruiting, the Administrator is present in many aspects of life in the home, even if you don’t always see them! To be successful in the role, our Administrators have to be flexible and calm, able to multi-task and always keen to take on a new challenge. It’s often the Administrator that brings the IT skills to a home, helping them to keep everything organised. Above that though, Administrators are communicators, able to speak confidently and listen closely to everyone from Managers and Care Workers to visitors and residents.
