Abbey Lodge is situated in the laid-back market town of Hythe, Kent and enjoys lovely sea views overlooking the English Channel. It prides itself on delivering high-quality care which is specific to the individual needs of residents.

The home has been operating since 1996 and has built up a strong reputation in the community and amongst professionals for the care and detailed attention which underpins the ethos of care in the home. My mum initially stayed at Abbey Lodge for a period of two weeks for respite as she was struggling on her own. We were impressed with the caring attitude of the manager and assistant manager.
After this period of respite, Mum was very happy and decided to stay, she finds all the staff very friendly
and helpful. She is very well cared for and happy she is at Abbey Lodge.

The staff at Abbey Lodge are outstanding, nothing is too much trouble for any of them. They were always there if I needed a shoulder or a hug and you felt you could do this because of their sweet, caring natures. When my second mum died, the staff were there for her and me, I could not have asked for

We moved our mother into this attractive care home after becoming dissatisfied with the environment in her previous care home, in a nearby town.
Abbey Lodge is very well managed and has some care staff who have worked there for decades. Staff appear happy.
The most important thing in a care home
for elderly people is the way residents are treated by the care staff. At Abbey Lodge, I am confident that interaction with residents is affectionate bordering on loving.
Carers pay attention to safety and physical requirements such as moving and lifting residents with minimum upset. The home is well equipped.
A creative and engaging activities manager works to keep residents entertained and stimulated five days out of seven. My mother loves the quizzes and enjoys the music, singing, crafts and activities based on traditional events. Birthdays and anniversaries are celebrated. Food and nutritional management is very good.

Since my aunt has been in Abbey Lodge she has always received the care and attention needed for her condition. The staff have always been polite and friendly and informed regarding her care. Contact always made prior to any vaccines given or change in health situation.

My aunt had shingles in her head, face and eye which caused her a lot of pain. The staff called the doctor as the medication wasn't keeping the pain under control. They went above and beyond to manage her needs during this period of time. They kept the family informed and this was reassuring she was
being supported and cared for.

My father needed to move into a care home due to mobility issues. We chose Abbey Lodge as it is a small, family-run home. They made Dad (and his family) very welcome. The staff were excellent, kind and caring, treating the residents with dignity and taking care of individual needs. The food was suitable
for older people with a choice of meals given. I can fully recommend the home to anyone in need of care. Their support was invaluable in the last two months of Dad's life.

As a friend living at a distance I visited a friend living at Abbey Lodge 27.07.22 for the first time, although I keep regular contact with him using phone and zoom facilities. My old friend seems, and tells me, that he is very happy and really enjoying life at Abbey Lodge. The staff were friendly and
very caring. There is a lovely, homely, family-feel to Abbey Lodge which was obvious to me. I would hope that when I need extra care myself, Abbey Lodge would be there for me.
The staff have been very helpful enabling us to have zoom chats every week.

My father was initially at Abbey Lodge for respite care, which has not become permanent. From the beginning, he has always said that he is well looked after and that the food is tremendous. Abbey Lodge provides a safe, secure environment with excellent care. The staff are so caring and patient; nothing is too much trouble - and they are always so cheerful and prepared to spend time with my mum. The home is kept extremely clean and bins are emptied and both rooms and bathrooms are kept

My Uncle is 98 years old, entered the home 1 week ago, and was unsettled to start with. With the kind care and attention from the staff, he seems to be settling in well. The home appears to be well run, clean and tidy. It is myself and my sister who have been looking after my uncle and if he is accepted

My mother, aged 105, was admitted to Abbey Lodge in September this year. It quickly became apparent that she had throat cancer and was very unwell. The senior staff were professional, friendly, and caring and allayed my fears that they could, and would, assisted by their wonderful staff, continue to
care for her whatever the outcome. A high-tech system means at all times you can see the care given, which is very reassuring. I am very close to my mother and have looked after her at home for many years, but I feel there is no better place than Abbey Lodge to carry on the high level of care she is used to.

My mother has been a resident at Abbey Lodge for 3 years and has always received very good personal care and attention. Any medical issues arising are dealt with promptly. The meals are of a good standard. The home is well managed, and has a genuine feeling of 'home' - never any unpleasant odours for

Vini Aujla oversees Abbey Lodge, She takes a highly active role in the running of Abbey Lodge and is personally on hand to provide support to residents and staff, supported by a full-time manager and deputy manager both have a wealth of knowledge in the care sector.


Abbey Lodge is a 24-bed 90% ensuite home, Vini has a background in Pharmaceuticals and Accounting.


Vini holds a level 5 in Food hygiene and Health and Safety. Abbey Lodge is deemed one of the best homes in the area, and it is a byword for quality.


Vini is working towards a Level NVQ 5 qualification in care management and Leadership. She takes pride in training and leading staff in the ethos that she believes care should be provided, and this has been directly attributed to Abbey Lodge's reputation.
