Alpine Rest Home offers round-the-clock care for up to thirty elderly residents, from a pleasant location in Sevenoaks, Kent, and a pleasing Edwardian building.

My wife and I have been extremely pleased with this home as a choice for my mother. My mother has been resident there for over a year, and we have found that the homely atmosphere, caring staff, and helpful management team have fulfilled all of our needs.

Very happy with the care home.

When we had to put Mum into a home it was the last thing we wanted to do but our mum has been so very happy, laughing, singing, playing games and enjoying her life again. She does not know us at all now but we still go every week as she is our mum and we love her so much, but we know she is safe and
happy and loved, just like she would have been at home. Looking forward to the next years of her life.

Whenever I visit my mother at Alpine Care Home, I always find the staff to be very helpful and open about how my mother has been. The staff always appear to be doing their utmost to engage with and involve the residents. The home itself is always spotless and the residents well cared for. My mother

Mum seems to have settled in nicely. The staff are really caring and very friendly.
They are very easy to talk to and always keen to listen.
Nothing is too much trouble, always offered tea and biscuits. Lots of interaction with the residents always going on.

Alpine Care Home is second to none. My mother feels secure and happy. This is difficult to achieve as she suffers from anxiety and the early stages of a dementing illness. Wonderful management and an excellent team of carers.

For my mum, the Alpine Care Home has been a perfect match. It is located in the area where she lived, local to family and friends. The care has been first class at all times in periods of good and bad health. Not only are the staff good with residents they take time with friends and family making sure
they are in touch with their relatives care and needs.
My mum and other residents always seem content and relaxed at whatever time I may visit. In all the care is excellently carried out in a friendly, kind and professional way. Always having the residents welfare uppermost.

My mother first came to the Alpine Care Home in April this year which was difficult as she always said she did not want to go into care but at the age of 99, she could not manage any longer. She has always said how nice they are here and I have always been pleased with the care and consideration received
by them.
On reaching the great age of 100 on 27th August 2017 they threw her a grand party and buffet attended by the Mayor and Elvis! which my mother greatly enjoyed.

I visited the home in the late morning when residents were relaxing after their coffee and before they prepared for lunch. I saw one other group of visitors whilst I was there.


A small number of residents were enjoying a memory game led by a member of staff responsible for entertainment. Other residents

were listening to music, which plays throughout the lounge area, or dozing. Some residents were being helped and encouraged to drink. I counted seven members of staff who all seemed happy to chat with residents whilst also carrying out their duties.


During my visit, I was offered refreshments twice.


My own mother was enjoying a particularly good day for her and it was good to see her happy and well cared for.


I feel that Alpine is particularly good at providing care for vulnerable folk suffering from any of the various forms of dementia.

My mother has been living at Alpine Care Home for 6 months and I have visited her every fortnight. I have found staff to be friendly, helpful and efficient and very kind to the residents. My mother suffers from Alzheimer's dementia and is often upset and angry, not understanding what is happening to
her. The staff have been very patient with her, often sitting with her for long periods of time until she feels more settled. The activities coordinator is lovely with my mother, giving her lots of 1 to 1 attention, which she needs. My mother's room is spacious and light and we have been allowed to provide furnishings and pictures to make sure the room is colourful and cheerful. My sister and I are very happy with our mother's care.

I have been visiting a family member in the Alpine Care Home on a fairly regular basis for almost a year and am very impressed with the standard of care given to residents. The staff are very friendly, keeping relatives informed and always happy to answer any questions they may have. The many activities
on offer can also be enjoyed by both the residents and visitors in a very welcoming, comfortable and homely environment.

My mother had Alzheimer's for many years and was in Alpine Care Home for the last four years of her life. Throughout her stay we/she received nothing but kindness and genuine care from all members of staff. She was always helped to eat and all her personal care was done with dignity and care.
What
I really want to comment on is the care she received at the end of her life. Again, superb care all the time. Mum was kept comfortable at all times, when staff felt she was not so comfortable great care was taken to move her gently and also when the decision was taken to use morphine, mum was again kept comfortable by whatever means necessary. I liked that mum's skin was kept moisturised and her mouth was moistened regularly towards the end. Thank you all for this. The end of mums life was peaceful and as good as it could be. We also received endless cups of tea and sandwiches when we were sitting with mum. Thank you to all.

My mum went to Alpine on the 6th of July 2016. She had been for several visits prior eg. lunch and afternoons there to get used to the place and staff, this was very helpful for her. During her unfortunately short stay of 1 month, she was so well looked after. The staff were lovely, so caring, not only
to my mum but to us as well (always tea and biscuits and a chat).
She was kept so clean, well fed and comfortable at all times. They made a difficult time the very best it could be. The management always kept me informed of everything. We were always made to feel welcome at any time, day or night. Unfortunately, my mum got very poorly and passed away. The care she received at end of life was outstanding (and us.) She passed away with love, care and dignity. I will be forever grateful to them all as they made such a difference to us.

My mother came to the Alpine Care Home for respite care whilst I went on holiday and also as we felt this was the next stage in her life so was a test to see if it was the right thing for her as we were struggling at home with just carers.
The manager is so lovely. She and all her amazing staff looked
after mum so well and gave her the care she needed. It quickly became clear mum was in the right place and couldn't go back home. Mum has dementia and Alzheimer's and did require 121 care at times. Nothing was too much trouble and the Manager sat with mum during some night shifts when mum couldn't settle. The home always smelt so clean, we as guests were always offered drinks and cake/biscuits. Whenever we were there, there were lots of staff doing things with the residents which was lovely to see.
If this care home was more local to me I would have kept mum there without question. It was a heartbreaking day when I had to move her.

I then moved into a small home in the community, still working with adults who had these difficulties. I stayed in this field until 2000, that's when I found my passion for working with people living with Alzheimer's and other Dementias. I have worked managing very successful care homes since. I have furthered my knowledge and skills by completing my Registered Managers Award, NVQ Level 4 and my Diploma 5 in Health and Social Care. My passion is making a difference in the lives of people we care for and their families.
