I visit this care home on a regular basis and I can honestly say the care of all the residents is fantastic they are very caring and attentive. The home is always extremely clean and all staff have a positive and caring attitude towards all the residents. The staff value the resident's privacy and dignity and always act professionally but with strong empathy.

My mother has been a resident of Alpine since May 2018. She has been well cared for and I feel that she is safe here. She says the food is good and there is enough of it. Whenever I visit I feel welcomed by the staff and they appear to be genuinely fond of my mother. I know my mother joins in with the activities provided and my brothers and I are confident that she is receiving the best care here and is valued and respected. Her bedroom is a bit small but is clean and comfortable. We like the fact that there are not too many residents and all the staff know all of them. All the family are happy with the care mum received at Alpine.

The level of care my Dad is receiving at Alpine Care Home is outstanding. He's only been there a few weeks but has settled in very well. The manager and all the staff are very engaged with the residents and treat them with kindness, compassion and dignity. There is a wonderful family atmosphere in this home, and visitors become part of that as soon as they arrive.

Dad has been at Alpine now for 4 weeks and as a family, we are so pleased with the home.
The Manager and her staff are so welcoming and friendly and it has such a lovely atmosphere.

A home for Dad became urgent very quickly and we couldn’t have chosen a better home where we know he is being cared for so well.

When we had to put Mum into a home it was the last thing we wanted to do but our mum has been so very happy, laughing, singing, playing games and enjoying her life again. She does not know us at all now but we still go every week as she is our mum and we love her so much, but we know she is safe and happy and loved, just like she would have been at home. Looking forward to the next years of her life.

Whenever I visit my mother at Alpine Care Home, I always find the staff to be very helpful and open about how my mother has been. The staff always appear to be doing their utmost to engage with and involve the residents. The home itself is always spotless and the residents well cared for. My mother has never had a bad word to say about the home, the staff nor the care she receives.

Alpine Care Home is second to none. My mother feels secure and happy. This is difficult to achieve as she suffers from anxiety and the early stages of a dementing illness. Wonderful management and an excellent team of carers.

For my mum, the Alpine Care Home has been a perfect match. It is located in the area where she lived, local to family and friends. The care has been first class at all times in periods of good and bad health. Not only are the staff good with residents they take time with friends and family making sure they are in touch with their relatives care and needs.

My mum and other residents always seem content and relaxed at whatever time I may visit. In all the care is excellently carried out in a friendly, kind and professional way. Always having the residents welfare uppermost.

My mother first came to the Alpine Care Home in April this year which was difficult as she always said she did not want to go into care but at the age of 99, she could not manage any longer. She has always said how nice they are here and I have always been pleased with the care and consideration received by them.

On reaching the great age of 100 on 27th August 2017 they threw her a grand party and buffet attended by the Mayor and Elvis! which my mother greatly enjoyed.

Overall Experience

I visited the home in the late morning when residents were relaxing after their coffee and before they prepared for lunch. I saw one other group of visitors whilst I was there.

A small number of residents were enjoying a memory game led by a member of staff responsible for entertainment. Other residents were listening to music, which plays throughout the lounge area, or dozing. Some residents were being helped and encouraged to drink. I counted seven members of staff who all seemed happy to chat with residents whilst also carrying out their duties.

During my visit, I was offered refreshments twice.

My own mother was enjoying a particularly good day for her and it was good to see her happy and well cared for.

I feel that Alpine is particularly good at providing care for vulnerable folk suffering from any of the various forms of dementia.

I have been in Health and Social Care since 1986, 39 years now. I started my journey working in a hospital environment for people who had physical and severe mental health disabilities. I then moved into a small home in the community, still working with adults who had these difficulties. I stayed in this field until 2000, that's when I found my passion for working with people living with Alzheimer's and other Dementias. I have worked managing very successful care homes since. I have furthered my knowledge and skills by completing my Registered Managers Award, NVQ Level 4 and my Diploma 5 in Health and Social Care. My passion is making a difference in the lives of people we care for and their families.

With over 20 years of experience across care, education, and the activity provision sector, and as a multi-award-winning professional, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with people living with their own unique needs and challenges, which has opened up a whole new world for me, one that is deeply interesting, endlessly inspiring, and incredibly rewarding. This role continues to teach me so much, and I feel truly honoured to support and connect with individuals at such a meaningful stage of life.

I have a deep passion for creating nutritious, delicious meals, and I bring a wealth of experience and a personal touch to every dish I prepare. I do my best to ensure that every meal is not only healthy but also enjoyable and tailored to the individual preferences and dietary needs of our residents. I believe that food is not just fuel; it’s an experience that should nourish both the body and the soul. In my role, I take great pride in preparing meals that bring comfort, joy, and a sense of home to our residents. Its important to listen and learn about residents' favourite foods and their preferences, offering a choice. Every dish is made with care, whether it's a favourite comfort food or something new to excite their taste buds. I am told by our team that sometimes the meals I spark conversations and fond memories of cooking or eating with their families. It’s actually heart-warming to hear how through cooking meals that the residents enjoy, I can contribute to making a difference and help with well being and memory.
