Brampton Lodge staff have looked after my friend very well. She has gained her health and has "blossomed" as her medication has been regulated and her diet has improved so much during her time in the care of Brampton staff. The home is kept beautiful and is of the standard of a small country hotel.
Staff are polite and helpful. I would say this is the best care home in Folkestone.

I was particularly impressed with the help, understanding, care and time the staff at Brampton Lodge extended to my Aunt on entering residential care for the first time. This made the transition from living alone for 16 years in her own home until the impressive age of 90 much easier.

Brampton

is a beautiful place with a great atmosphere. The Entertainments Manager goes to great lengths to provide interesting and engaging activities for all and demonstrates tremendous patience and empathy. The entire staff are very obliging to the needs residents and their families at all times and are keen to implement an individual care plan tailored to client need.

My mother in law is resident at Brampton Lodge since February 2014. During that time her overall health and wellbeing have benefited so much from an outstanding, caring, professional team who work very well together to provide a harmonious environment at all times. The fact that there are many members
of staff who have worked at Brampton for a number of years is a testimony to the excellent well-managed care home. The activities coordinator provides an excellent programme based on the interests and needs of all residents.

My friend has been a resident in Brampton Lodge for about a year now following two strokes and I visit him regularly. The staff have been so kind, especially at times of crisis. They are efficient, calm and reassuring, quite simply they care. The daily activities are interesting, stimulating, often
competitive and great fun. I have been encouraged to join in and made welcome by residents and staff alike. This is a happy home (although I refused to cuddle a rat!) If it becomes necessary, I would happily choose to live here.

The person I am the attorney for is a resident at Brampton Lodge, where she has been for almost three years. I have nothing but praise for the excellent way in which she has been cared for and looked after by a very dedicated team of people.

My friend, who I had been helping while in her flat, was admitted to the residential home as she had a history of falls. She was not keen to be there but appreciated the care she was given. The staff were caring and supportive - encouraged her to join in activities. The manager visited her when she
was in hospital and ensured that relatives were informed of the status. The staff ensured that she was seen by a doctor whenever necessary. The home has a happy caring atmosphere - patients were not just sat around a room in front of a TV. The standard of the staff was excellent caring and knowledgeable. Her nearly 2 years were happy.

During 2014-15, my mother was at Brampton Lodge for respite care on at least 5 separate occasions. In December 2015 she came in again for respite but she was very ill and sadly died on Jan 3rd 2016.
During all my mother's stays at Brampton, the care she received was outstanding. Much attention was
given to her individual needs and preferences and she could say if she wanted things done differently. The staff were totally professional, yet developed a relationship with Mum that was very personal. They were always patient and kind even when Mum became muddled or irritable. In December when she was ill, I was immensely grateful for the 'End of Life' care together with visiting doctors and nurses. The care was first class, not just for Mum but for us as a family. The staff looked after Mum with total compassion and a special mention for the night staff who stayed with her and me until the end. Mum's death was peaceful and I'm sure she felt safe with people she knew. Thank you.

My father has been at Brampton Lodge for a year. The care is excellent. The staff are caring. Plenty of good food. The activities are varied and interesting, the social interaction between staff and residents are good. I am very pleased with the standard of care from the staff. Nothing is too much trouble
whether it's making a cup of tea or attending an appointment.

My father lived at Brampton Lodge from June 2011 until his death in October 2015. He was very happy and satisfied - he became close friends with all of the staff and always talk about how good they were. Brampton Lodge is always superbly clean, tidy and well managed, staff responses are always very
quick. Father was always satisfied with the food and refreshments. The house has a lovely well kept sheltered garden and the rooms are very light and comfortable. Visitors are welcomed with tea/coffee. The staff are amazing and it feels very much like an extended caring family atmosphere. End of life care was superb.

Brampton Lodge provided a very caring and homely environment for my Mother. The staff cared for her to an excellent standard right through to her end of life. They worked well with the external agencies (Dr, District nurses) in a very timely way. The management and staff provided excellent communication
with the family in a very respectful way. We would have no hesitation in recommending Brampton Lodge.

I could not have been happier with the care that Brampton Lodge took of my 93 year-old mother in the last nine months of her life. The staff were extremely friendly, kind, caring and compassionate. My mother required a lot of help with the everyday necessities of life, particularly towards the end,
and the staff were always ready to assist her with whatever she needed. She was treated with great respect and dignity. At the very end, it was wonderful that she was able to take her last breath in her own bed at Brampton Lodge. All the carers were terrific, but the three who assisted in her room on the day she died were just extraordinarily wonderful in the way that they comforted her (and me) and made her as physically comfortable as they could. I thank the three of you from the bottom of my heart and thank the entire team for making Brampton Lodge the great care home that it is.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.881)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.881) out of 10 for Brampton Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.981 for Brampton Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (105 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 107 Ratings = 4.981
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Brampton Lodge is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 26 registered maximum number of service users is 5.2, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
