We are very pleased with the care and support that our family member has received whilst at Hartley House.
Thank you so much for your kind feedback. It's reassuring to know that both your family member and those closest to them have felt supported along the way. We really appreciate the trust you've placed in us and are grateful to be part of their journey.
Thanking you all for your good work.

Finally, I feel I am being listened to. Also, I would like to thank Kerry, who is a brilliant support to me and my family, I think she is underappreciated for her constant help and support.
Thank you so much for sharing this. It's incredibly reassuring to hear that things have improved and that you now feel listened to and supported. That makes such a difference, especially in situations like this. Your kind words about the team are truly appreciated, and we're so glad the support has had a positive impact.
I have been very pleased to be able to stay at Hartley House prior to and following surgery. I have been very well supported and looked after in all respects.
Thank you for your kind words. They're really appreciated. We're so glad you felt well supported before and after your surgery. Wishing you a smooth and steady recovery.
My husband, who has dementia and serious mobility problems, was admitted to Hartley House two months ago. The staff are gentle, kind and patient (both with the residents and their relatives). Any care issues are addressed promptly. I feel reassured that my husband is well cared for and cared about.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It's so important to feel reassured in situations like this, and we're really glad that sense of care and patience has come through. Knowing your husband is being looked after with kindness and attention means everything. We truly appreciate your trust.
Your staff work long hours and have an understanding of all problems. You must be most proud of them. Thank you for taking care of me, and thank you to the actual staff that were so lovely to me.
Thank you so much for your lovely message. We're really pleased to hear your stay was a positive and insightful experience. It means a great deal to know you felt cared for and understood during your time with us. Your kind words about the team will mean so much to them. Thank you again for taking the time to share this.
Mum has been a resident for over 2 years now, we are very pleased with her care, the staff and management are very approchable and any issues we've had are sorted promptly.
Thank you for your kind message. It's great to hear that your mum has been well cared for and that communication has been positive throughout. We really appreciate your trust and continued support.
Having looked at several other homes, I chose Hartley for several reasons - it is single story, and so she was not shut in on the first floor. Being built around two courtyards it is easy to navigate. Another point is that - there is never any smell- you can't say that about some other homes.
No matter what her mood, ALL of the staff are wonderful. I was amazed that after the first week, many of them already greeted me warmly by my first name.
There is an open door policy with regard to the Manager, Team Leaders and so you can always talk to them.
Her room is probably the furthest from the main door and like some others is due for refreshing in the near future.
In the unfortunate circumstance that a relative or loved one needs dementia care, I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Hartley House.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience so openly. It's clear how much thought and care went into choosing the right place for your wife, and we're truly grateful that you placed that trust in Hartley House. Dementia can bring so many ups and downs, and we're glad the team has been a...
The team at Hartley House are professional, caring and attentive. They take great care of my mum. They also pay my dad attention when he goes to visit her, which is important to him. Communication is excellent. Rachel, the manager, is a superb leader. Jacqui takes great care in organising activities for everyone. All the team leaders are excellent.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback. It's lovely to hear how supported both your mum and dad feel. That kind of care and connection is so important to us. We're really glad the communication has been clear and that the team's efforts have made a difference. Your kind words mean a lot to everyone here.
'My mother moved into Hartley House Care Home as a resident at the end of September 2025. When I went to look around the home prior to Mum moving in I found the staff very welcoming and the home was clean and tidy. After a few weeks I did encounter some issues at the home, this was nothing to do abuse or neglect of the patients as the staff are very caring and treat the patients with kindness and respect but was more administrative oversights. The manager at the home was very new to post, I since found out, and the home had not had a permanent manager for a while so it had 'lost it's way'. Once my concerns were highlighted I was involved in meetings and a plan moving forward was put into place. Overall I am now happy and things are very positive I get regular updates from the home so kept informed of what is going on with Mum and the home has a very active social messaging group regarding activities and events that are being put on. Mum seems to have settled well and appears
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, we truly appreciat it. We understand how important it is to feel confident and informed when a loved one moves into care, and we're really glad you raised your concerns and gave us the opportunity to make things better. It's encouraging to...
My husband has been a resident for nearly 6 months. He is very happy and says how much he likes Hartley House. It is a very happy, relaxed environment, and residents are able to go where they like on the premises. Everyone is treated with kindness and respect. The care here is excellent. Much is done to provide an interesting environment for all the residents.
Thank you so much for your kind words and it really means a lot to us. We're so glad to hear your husband feels happy and at ease. Knowing he enjoys the atmosphere and feels respected and cared for is exactly what we hope for every day. Your support and trust mean the world. Thank you for sharing this.
I would like to know why there is a lack of entertainment , my Mum who enjoyed the singer every week (as a lot of the residents did) seems to be coming less and less . The activities are really good that they do, but they all used to enjoy the entertainment E.G parrots ,animals and much more ,as i visit my Mum 3 or 4 times a week I seem to of noticed it more.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful message. It really means a lot that you've taken the time to share your observations. We're so glad to hear how much your mum, and others, enjoyed the regular entertainment. We completely understand how noticeable the change has been, especially for those who...
We couldn't be happier with dad's placement at Hartley House. The staff are always friendly and because of the layout it is always easy to find someone if you need someone. The internal courtyard means that even with dementia, dad is able to open a door and go outside. Huge thanks to two specific members of staff and the team for their care of dad.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. It really means a lot. It's lovely to hear how well things are going and that the environment is making such a difference. The team will be so pleased to know their support is appreciated. We're truly glad it feels like the right place and that there's peace of mind knowing care and kindness are always close by.
My father has been cared for at Hartley House for the last five years. Initially he found it hard to accept that he was no longer able to cope living at home, but the team at Hartley House worked hard to settle him in. Communication with the home is good, and we especially enjoy the pictures we receive, check in phone calls, and the prompt updates if Dad needs medical attention. The home is bright and modern, with pleasant areas to sit and share a cup of tea, The staff are friendly and helpful, and there is a range of activities for residents to participate in.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It really means a lot to hear that your family has felt supported and reassured. Adjusting to a new environment isn't always easy, but knowing that the team has helped make that journey a little smoother is something we're truly proud of. We're so glad the little touches have made a difference.
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Hartley House to anyone.

Hartley House has cared for both our Mum and Dad over the past couple of years and the manager and her team have guided us through some difficult times especially for Mum and Dad for which we are very grateful and have always found them professional and above all caring.
Thank you for your kind words. It means so much to us to know that our team has been able to support your family through challenging times. Caring for both your Mum and Dad has been a privilege, and we're grateful for your trust. We'll be sure to share your lovely feedback with the team!
Mum has been at Hartley House for a year now. I am so happy with the care that she receives and cannot recommend it more highly. She is always clean and well cared for. All of the staff are so caring, friendly and very supportive. It is always spotlessly clean and has a range of great activities that keep mum occupied and happy. Having mum at Hartley House has given me peace of mind knowing that she is always being well looked after.

My husband has been a resident of Hartley House for over two years. I've seen a lot through that time as I visit him nearly every day. From the lovely manager down, the staff show compassion, empathy, kindness & warmth when caring for our loved ones. This applies to all the staff whatever their role. It has a homely feel & fun & laughter can often be heard. The staff are also very caring to me & now feel like extended family. It's a very special place & I'm thankful that if my dear husband has to be somewhere that it's there!
