The home became 'Lindau' when bought in December 1985 by Mr and Mrs Curtis Christie. The name comes from a city in Bavaria in the extreme South of Germany, freely translated in English means "a green and grassy plain filled with peace and tranquillity". Lindau is located within a small seaside town which is a 5 minute walk to the beach, good access to shops, public transport and other amenities.

In 1986, the home grew from a registration of eight residents in six bedrooms to fifteen residents in fourteen bedrooms. Three years later and the home was enlarged again to twenty-four single size of rooms and one double, many of which have en-suite toilets. The home was bought by a father and son in 2006 who still own the home to date. This was extended to twenty six residents in 2008. In 2010 an additional floor was built bringing the number of bedrooms to 37 single rooms 27 of which are en-suite. Bedrooms range in size with newly refurbished rooms being very well presented.

At Lindau, residents can enjoy a wide variety of entertainments and activities. Indoors there are many activities including arts and crafts, musical bingo, chair exercises, greyhound racing, horse racing, playing cards, or board games. The garden has been completely landscaped in 2021 with large patio areas for residents to sit outside and enjoy the garden.

As soon as we visited Lindau we knew it was the right place for mum. The atmosphere is warm, friendly, homely and welcoming. It really is an amazing place with wonderful staff who really care . Staff seem really happy and it's so nice to see the lovely relationship they share with the residents. Mum
has settled really well in the few weeks she has been there. A big thank you to everyone.

My dad went into respite as my mum couldn't cope, due to going into hospital for an operation. He is struggling with Alzheimer's, and doesn't understand. He's had his moments in Lindau, but the staff have been fantastic. They have been very supportive to both my dad and myself. The communication
is second to none both over the phone and in person.
Everytime I visit my dad, there is always something happening arts n crafts, music hour, quizzes and the list goes on.
I only hope when I get to being of said age, that Lindau is still running as I'd love to be able to stay with them.
I'm even thinking about volunteering there.

On our initial visit to Lindau we instantly felt the home had a friendly, relaxed and happy atmosphere. The rapport between the staff and residents was amazing. My mum was visited the following day at her home which helped to reassure her. We then had a few visits to introduce her to staff and familiarize
her with the layout of the home. Mum joined in some of the many activities Lindau offers. The care mum has received since moving into Lindau has been excellent and she is very happy and settled. I would definitely recommend Lindau for anyone looking for care for their family members.

Both my parents started being cared for by Lindau about 3 years ago.
My dad died peacefully at Lindau last year. The staff are very kind and caring. We looked at several homes before we decided on Lindau, and don't regret it one bit. They go above and beyond for their residents.

We cannot praise Lindau Home and staff enough, we are local to the home and pop in regularly to visit Dad. Everyone is always happy, both staff and residents. Everywhere is clean, Dad is very happy there, says he feels like he is on holiday. His health, mobility and well-being have improved immensely
due to the hard working staff. It is such a relief to all the family knowing he is being looked after and is happy.

The staff are always friendly and welcoming. I have never been kept waiting to be admitted to the care home. During a difficult time for the family the staff have been compassionate and understanding.
The residents are well cared for, respected and attended to promptly. The environment is clean and
tidy with different areas for the residents and visitors to gather. There are regular activities, and outings for those who are able. There always seems to be plenty of staff on duty and they appear to be happy and work well together.

The staff here are extremely caring towards all the residents, a very well-run care home, every time I visit my Dad I am told how he's doing and how much they love having him there.
There are always a variety of activities arranged and excursions out. I did not think my dad would settle as quickly
as he has, but he seems to be very happy here and always tells me how well he's looked after.

We needed a respite placement urgently and staff come out the same day to assess my wife. She was accepted and settled in the following day. Unfortunately for us, the respite care has now turned into full-time placement. We have found that the staff at all levels to be very friendly and helpful. The
staff all look to be happy to work there and greet me by name when I visit and let me know how my wife is getting on. The care that my wife is receiving is excellent. The manager and her staff are really on the ball and very caring, which gives me great peace of mind.

As soon as you walk in you are greeted by lovely friendly staff also many residents!
There's such a warm atmosphere, very homely.
My friend has been in a few homes over the last few years but this is by far the best!
The activities are great, I ended up doing a watercolour with my friend that was
being taught by a talented artist that comes in and paints with them.
