I’m pleased with the care given to my dad by the staff at Shakti. They are very responsive to any questions I have and always have Dad’s needs in mind. They work hard to ensure Dad is safe, happy and as healthy as possible. Despite Dad’s dementia, which causes him great confusion and distress at times,
the staff respond kindly and with support to reassure him. Whenever I’ve visited, the home has been clean and tidy, staff have been present and watchful of the residents. Overall, I can see my dad is happy and settled in Shakti, and I’m very grateful for all the hard work of the team.

My dad has been at Shakti Lodge for a year now, which has unfortunately coincided with the Covid-19 lockdowns, but he is very well looked after and seems very happy there. In the beginning, I was able to visit every day, but obviously, as time went on we were not allowed inside, but we were always able
to phone or do a video call. There is also a visiting pod that allows us to visit safely, and with the new restrictions, a visitor is now allowed inside, which is a great welcome to both the residents and their families. The whole team are very friendly and welcoming, and you are always kept updated on any concerns they may have at any time. I feel comforted that my Dad is receiving the best possible care in a home from home setting and atmosphere.

Shakti Lodge has been caring for my mother for over a year now. The staff are so friendly, helpful and welcoming. During the corona pandemic, they have organised regular FaceTime calls, so I have still been able to stay in touch and have some contact with my mum. I feel it benefits from being a smaller
home where they all know each other, and I see the same staff when I go so they really know the people they are caring for.

I have only once been into Shakti Lodge, Covid safety would not allow more, but my wife seems very happy, and it seems she is well looked after by the very pleasant staff. The girls had done everything possible to keep me informed of my wife’s well being.
I can only guess at some of the following questions
as I have not been able to look at the home personally.

Every time I have visited the home, I am always made very welcome, and I am happy with the care that is provided. I feel she is happy there as they do try and find suitable entertainment for their residents, particularly music to which she always taps her feet. One of the carers has arranged for me
to receive video calls from her, so I can see her whilst the pandemic is still preventing me from actually seeing her; when I am unable to see her in the Pod.

I think the safe pod is excellent for seeing your parent. It's been a long time in lockdown for them, so being safe to see them is a way forward.

My husband was admitted to Shakti Lodge on 12th February 2020. He seems to be very happy living there although he doesn't know where he is.
I am very pleased with the care and attention he has received since his admission. I must stress how well I have been treated by all the staff. I always feel welcome.
It is so important on leaving to know he is being well cared for. I am always kept in touch by phone when there is any change and my questions are answered.

Staff are kind and caring. The atmosphere is homely. Activities coordinator is great and works hard to engage residents. Mum always looked well cared for.

I cannot thank the staff at Shakti Lodge enough for their care of our mother/nan. They made her so happy for the year she was with them and showed so much love and kindness during her time there. With so many horror stories about care homes I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home.

I have already recommended this home to a friend whose mother had dementia. Unfortunately, my friend died with cancer, but am pleased that her Mum is here at Shakti Lodge, Dartford, knowing she is being looked after so well. Personally, it took 13 residential homes for me to see the right place for
my Mum. She has now been here 6 years and there has never been a time I have felt she needed to change.

Shakti Lodge provides bespoke care for residents.
Physical and mental health issues are appropriately addressed.
Visitors are welcomed and invited to share events with residents, this really is a home from home.
All staff are professional and have a positive, caring approach to residents.

Have always been welcomed and accommodated.
Staff very caring and friendly.
Residents seem 'at home' and well cared for especially when they are disruptive - problems sorted out very quickly.

I think Shakti Lodge is a nice, warm and comfortable environment. Quite homely with a lovely garden. The only thing I have found a bit upsetting is when I find lots of clothing, including underwear in my Mum's room. Her clothing is all clearly marked and I wouldn't want her to be wearing someone else's
knickers or any other items. Also, finding other people in her clothes. I understand times get busy but that's not really an excuse when items are marked.

It took a long time to get my mum into a home and Shakti Lodge was one of the last I saw. She has only been in there a month but so far I am very happy with the level of care she gets. She has plenty of stimulation and has enjoyed being around others.
I feel she has become less depressed because she
has people to look out for her and keep her company more than when she was at home. Long may this continue.

I am happy with the care home that my mum is in. She is always clean and presentably dressed. The home is always clean and tidy never had any bad smells, all the residents are well cared for.

Shakti Lodge manager went to Wolverhampton to assess Mom prior to her joining them. This gave her confidence and immediately she felt part of a community. Food is excellent - home cooked. Events eg Remembrance Sunday, Diwali, Halloween are celebrated residents enjoy these, so do relatives who are also
invited. Contact with myself is excellent, staff speak freely and honestly so helping me to enjoy quality time with Mom. Positivity/care and humour make this a real home for everyone.

Having settled my Aunt at Shakti Lodge earlier in the year, I was so fortunate to find a vacancy for my Dad too, both suffering Alzheimer's and dementia. The staff have such compassion and kindness, nothing is too much trouble for either the residents or their families. A bright, fresh and homely atmosphere,
with regular activities that families can join in to make new memories from an otherwise difficult time in the resident's lives.


Congratulations on receiving a 5* rating for food safety and hygiene practices, and from what I've witnessed meals are tasty, attractive and well balanced.
