Tudor Lodge EMI/Residential Home

We are delighted with everything, the first time ever that my husband has not wanted to come home. Sitting with him just now, he has just remarked that this has been a great success, so that says it all.

This is truly a CARE home. The manager was extremely helpful and efficient and this was reflected in the whole team. They were all always willing to help and had a lovely manner with residents. The home is spotlessly clean and residents shown affection and dignity. They all went above and beyond in caring and the Manager was outstanding with the care of residents relatives. During my visits the food looked good and varied. To be highly recommended.

I think overall the home is welcoming to visitors, providing tea and biscuits if wanted. I cannot give an answer regarding activities as I am not sure if there are any. Most of the residents are sitting in the lounge and we are allowed to visit ours in his room, as sometimes it can be quite noisy i.e. other residents shouting and screaming. His clothes are washed frequently and he is always clean when we visit.

The manager was very professional in everything he did making sure my father-in-law was given the best care possible. Nothing was ever a problem. Staff all good.

Mum has been here six months and during this time the care has been excellent. The carers are professional, kind, friendly and extremely helpful. We have found, at all times, night and day, nothing is ever too much to ask. Mum is always very clean and well-presented. The home, despite its age, is always very clean and is a credit to the staff who look after it. At this moment in time, Mum is at end of life. The care for her and us, while we have been staying, is first-class. We have experienced a number of carers returning to the home on their day off to see how Mum is. This, we find, a very unusual quality of care.

Dad was here as an assessment bed. We never felt he was treated as a temporary but as part of the family. Concerns were addressed and he has been happy here.

I don't think my father should ever have gone there. Within days of arriving, he deteriorated so much, he was unable to stand, his head had fallen back and he was unable to feed himself. He wore a gold ring on his hand, this went missing. I told the manager who said he would look into it. Then his wedding ring went missing and the manager said he had put it in the safe to keep it safe. When my father left, he was unable to produce either.

My brother has been at Tudor Lodge since April 2018. In that time, I have had no worries about him and the care he is given. I feel that he is given the best care and attention possible. I am kept informed of everything appertaining him and his welfare. I am his only relative and live 200 miles away. My visits to him are always unseduced, so I get a true picture of the way things are. I have been extremely pleased with what I find each time. The staff and management are all very good at what they do. I could not wish him to be better looked after.

My Aunt has dementia and spends most of her time in bed, but the staff regularly check on her, and she has TV and CDs which she likes to watch and listen to. She is well looked after and cared for and seems happy in herself. I live 200 miles away so only see her every few months, and longer still now because of covid, but the Home Manager keeps me updated on any developments and I call in regularly for a general update. My aunt also loves flowers so I have an M&S parcel post bouquet delivered every other week and the staff arrange and place them where my Aunt can see them. Overall, I am happy that my Aunt is getting the care she needs.

The staff are friendly, approachable and caring and we are really pleased that she seems happy and settled.

My husband goes for respite and loves it there, he always seems happy.

The home is well-run, with care and empathy. The staff are considerate and helpful. The home is clean and safe with good facilities.

I think all the staff at the home are doing an amazing job of keeping the residents happy and safe during a really hard time.

Only very slight comment, I do my Mum's laundry, collecting it every other day and on occasions, it has gone to the in house laundry, but considering the duress, the staff are working under regarding Covid-19, this is a very tiny mishap, which I know be resolved efficiently like any of my other requests.

For rooms and home are very good. When visiting, the staff are very helpful and there is always a cup of tea - goes down well. The food is good and the rooms are kept well. Thanks to you all. Keep safe.

The staff are very kind and patient. Management is available to answer questions. The fact that we can visit at any time gives us confidence that the care is consistent. We are always made to feel welcome and offered tea/coffee and biscuits to enjoy with my brother whilst we chat.

I have every confidence that her needs are being met and she is safe.

My mum and aunt have spent 2 weeks at Tudor Lodge in respite care. They enjoyed their time there and cannot speak highly enough of all the staff. They were able to share a room and we visited every day and were always impressed by the staff and care they received.

I like the home. We visited mum recently and we like to take her out and about.

The room is decorated nicely and roomy with family pictures and a TV. The food is good and my mum really likes her food. Lots of activities to keep them happy within the home. Some items of clothing do go missing from time to time even though we put her name in them but that is to be expected in a large home.

The only downside is that we have to pay for everything as Social Services wouldn't help us enough financially. Even after my parents worked their whole lives, Social Services just doesn't give us enough funding whereas there are others that get full funding without having to do very much.

I do feel that the staff are saints with what they have to put up with. If I have any concerns, then I just speak to someone and it gets sorted quickley.
