Newland House is an impressive family home that is steeped in tradition both inside and out. Originally home to three generations of blanket industrialists, the prominent Early family, Newland House has been thoughtfully re-designed, incorporating all of its original features to provide a safe, appealing and comfortable home for its residents.

Located in the thriving Cotswold market town of Witney, 12 miles west of the City of Oxford, Newland House can be found tucked away behind an appealing façade of traditional Oxfordshire stone. A fully-trained, compassionate and caring team has created an exceptional residential care home equipped with 28 bedrooms and spaces inside and out to enjoy both companionship and privacy.

Residents benefit from fully inclusive home cooked meals in the dining room, socialising in the communal areas or relaxing in the garden along with daily activities schedule with trips out, access to video calling and all inclusive laundry service.

I am very grateful to Newland House for the excellent care they provided to my father in the last months of his life. He was treated with great care, patience, compassion and respect during a very challenging time. I chose Newland House for its atmosphere of professional and practical kindness. The
staff work very hard indeed, but they do so with great humour and considerable personal insight. There is a genuine, unrehearsed warmth contained in the building that you sense on every single visit. I would recommend Newland House to any family without any hesitation whatsoever.

My dear mum was cared for at Newlands until January 2022. We knew when we visited for the first time that the atmosphere was special - it was a calm and welcoming environment with a very homely feel. The staff were kind and patient and the residents were happy and settled. We were always impressed with
the level of activities planned, the cleanliness of the rooms, and the variety of freshly made meals. We were so lucky to have found Newlands, and would not hesitate in recommending it.

Dad has been at Newland House since January and settled in very quickly, which I feel reflects on the excellent staff. I cannot fault the care and attention dad receives. He is very happy and enjoys joining in with the activities. The atmosphere at Newland House is friendly and homely and it's lovely
seeing the regular updates and photos on Facebook. I would highly recommend Newland House.

My father was moved into Newland for emergency respite and has never left - that was over 2 years ago. They say it’s the people that make a place, at Newland, it’s the staff. From the beginning, they have been nothing short of wonderful. Although I would rather my dad could live independently - here
I know he is safe, cared for and well looked after. They do care here, and they do listen to your concerns and act on them. The covid pandemic has brought lots of challenges to care homes, I do feel Newland have coped and adapted amazingly. Keeping residents safe and the home covid free but also going above and beyond to help accommodate family members and residents wishes, worries and frustrations. My dad has a lovely room, and there are lots for him to get involved in if he chose to do it.
I am really grateful to all the management, all the staff for what they do, they really are a tremendous bunch!

Dad has been at Newland House for 7-months and I can't fault the care he gets. The home and staff are amazing.
It's such a relief to know that Dad is safe, well, happy and getting the professional care he requires.
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, Dad is well settled and often tells me how
he loves it there.

My dad came into Newland House in February 2019, after several recommendations. From the start, it was extremely friendly and had a lovely homely feel to it. Residents could wander safely, with always somebody around to lend a hand or guidance to the confused.
I can honestly say my dad has thrived
in Newland. He certainly doesn’t look anywhere near his 92 years. His mind is sharper and his whole outlook is more positive thanks to the amazing care of the staff there. That includes the carers themselves, the entertainment staff (also extremely caring) the cleaning staff and the maintenance/ gardener. Such lovely people.
They have worked so hard to keep everyone safe and also keep their spirits up in these very trying times. I have been lucky enough to see my dad through his window as he has a ground floor room, but visitors are now allowed by appointment into the garden with our loved ones. I would like to give Newland House 10/10 for their amazing care.

We chose Newland for my father because of the friendly, relaxed atmosphere, but this by no ways reduces their professionalism.
My father gets very anxious when in new surroundings or meeting new people but the staff listened, and took on board his, and my own concerns.
He receives care, company
and a compass; what more could I wish for?

My wife has been at Newland House for over five years and would not want her to be anywhere else, apart from being at home with me, but that isn't possible.
The residents and carers are like a family, which includes visitors and are always there to help one another. It is a very relaxed atmosphere
making any new resident settle in very quickly to our home from home. From the excellent manager to the carers, cook, domestic staff, maintenance, you couldn't get a nicer team of people, I should say friends and I thank you all for kindness.

My mother has been in Newland since January. She settled in immediately, which was of great comfort to her family, and this was really only made possible through the help of all the staff.
Before lockdown was put in place we were able to visit whenever we wanted, no appointment was necessary, and
everyone always appeared settled and happy. Since the lockdown, I have visited and had a chat with mum through the window - I know other families have done the same on birthdays etc.
There are regular updates and photos posted on Newlands’ social media page which reassures families that their loved ones are being well looked after - especially important during this awful time.
I can’t thank the staff enough for all their kindness and compassion.

This is a lovely home picked out from the many I visited when trying to find somewhere for Mum to stay. The brilliant staff brought her back to health in an amazingly short time and got her walking and talking again when we thought all was lost. She has been there over a year now and is looked after
incredibly well. I would definitely recommend Newland House.

My 94-year-old husband made an emergency arrival in Newland House. He was understandably shocked, frightened and for some time refused to leave his room. It was 4 weeks before I was able to visit and my natural fears were quickly allayed by finding him washed, dressed and sitting in a comfortable chair
in spotlessly clean surroundings, with a call button, a glass of water and my photograph close at hand. He looked relaxed and at home.
During the following weeks, I was able to see first hand how this change was being brought about by both the generally happy atmosphere pervading the whole home and the care, concern and encouragement provided by the staff. They genuinely wanted him to come downstairs to sit and eat with everybody else, to make friends and join in activities.
Now, just short of three months on, much of the battle is won - partly due perhaps to a recent increase in staff numbers and a change in management making more time for his carers to do what they do so well.

I was very apprehensive and emotional when looking for a care home for mum. However, the kindness and professionalism I received from the manager has been outstanding. From my initial enquiry to mum being admitted, the process was smooth and stress-free. The staff are dedicated and caring, treating
both mum and myself with dignity and respect. Mum is happy and safe and has given me peace of mind, knowing she is with people who care and value her.

My husband came in for a week's respite care. He suffers from vascular dementia so it was all rather strange to him, but the staff looked after him very well. He is not one for socialising, but they encouraged him to come down for meals and participate in activities. He said how lovely the ladies were
particularly when they sorted him out after he had an accident. The house had a lovely friendly atmosphere and I would feel quite happy about him coming to you again for respite.

Mum has been a resident at Newland House since October 2015 and since then mum has built up some truly amazing relationships with the team. In the last year, Newland House has really blown my expectations of care and I cannot praise the staff or the manager enough. I would highly recommend Newland House
