It's a heartbreaking decision when you need to choose a care setting for a family member. From the moment we stepped into the home, Newland House Care Home, and were greeted by the manager we knew it was the right place. Every member of staff that we have met has been kind, friendly and made us all feel welcome and one staff member said "we are your second family now". The chef makes the most delicious meals and we all feel incredibly lucky! Thank you everyone.
Thank you for your review of Newland House. We pride ourselves on our warm welcome and a home-from-home feel, so it's so lovely when we get feedback like this. We shall pass on your compliments to the chef, thank you again for your kind words.
My experience at Newland House Care Home has been none other than amazing. The care manager went out of her way to find out about my husband's physical, personal and emotional needs. His reception on arrival was fantastic, with individual members of staff welcoming him using his Christian name while introducing themselves. I feel that Newland House has a heart and really cares about the health and welfare of its residents. This was perfectly summed up when I was told 'to regard Newland House as your second family'!
Thank you for your lovely, kind words about Newland House and our team. We really are one big, extended family here, so we are delighted to hear you and your husband feel a part of that and have been made to feel welcome in our home.
Newland House have been excellent in the care towards my grandad. It was a big change for my grandad and our family and the staff have been understanding and supportive. Everyone we have met has been friendly and the room he is staying in has been great with nice views outside. He has also been really enjoying the food. Thank you everyone!
Thank you for your kind review of Newland House. We understand how challenging a move into care can be but we are so pleased your grandad is settling in so well with us. We're glad he is enjoying the food too, we will pass on your compliments to our chef.
From the first contact, through the settling in phase and ongoing, the thoughtful, kindness of all the staff to my mother and to us, her family, has been lovely. I really appreciate the considerate care with which my mother is treated, not just by the care staff but by everyone. The home is small enough to have a family feel but has everything she needs. On a practical level, the home is well run, very well maintained and always has lots of interesting activities going on. Staff seem happy, mum eats better than she has for years and very much enjoys the garden where there is always something for her to look at.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are so pleased you are happy with the level of care your mother is receiving; we are like one big happy family here at Newland House, and we love that your mother is part of that. We shall share your comments with the whole team, and our chef will be delighted to know how much your mother is enjoying the food.
Used Newland House for respite and could not thank everyone enough for the care and attention they have given to our mother during her one-week stay. Nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend Newland House to anyone. Please keep up the good work.

I am very grateful to Newland House for the excellent care they provided to my father in the last months of his life. He was treated with great care, patience, compassion and respect during a very challenging time. I chose Newland House for its atmosphere of professional and practical kindness. The staff work very hard indeed, but they do so with great humour and considerable personal insight. There is a genuine, unrehearsed warmth contained in the building that you sense on every single visit. I would recommend Newland House to any family without any hesitation whatsoever.
What a fantastic review of Newland House. It was a pleasure to look after your father and to ensure he received the best possible care, respect and support during his last months. We all believe that laughter and happiness are both essential parts of the Newland way of life and that's what makes us...
My dear mum was cared for at Newlands until January 2022. We knew when we visited for the first time that the atmosphere was special - it was a calm and welcoming environment with a very homely feel. The staff were kind and patient and the residents were happy and settled. We were always impressed with the level of activities planned, the cleanliness of the rooms, and the variety of freshly made meals. We were so lucky to have found Newlands, and would not hesitate in recommending it.

Dad has been at Newland House since January and settled in very quickly, which I feel reflects on the excellent staff. I cannot fault the care and attention dad receives. He is very happy and enjoys joining in with the activities. The atmosphere at Newland House is friendly and homely and it's lovely seeing the regular updates and photos on Facebook. I would highly recommend Newland House.

It's such a relief to know that Dad is safe, well, happy and getting the professional care he requires.
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, Dad is well settled and often tells me how he loves it there.

I can honestly say my dad has thrived in Newland. He certainly doesn’t look anywhere near his 92 years. His mind is sharper and his whole outlook is more positive thanks to the amazing care of the staff there. That includes the carers themselves, the entertainment staff (also extremely caring) the cleaning staff and the maintenance/ gardener. Such lovely people.
They have worked so hard to keep everyone safe and also keep their spirits up in these very trying times. I have been lucky enough to see my dad through his window as he has a ground floor room, but visitors are now allowed by appointment into the garden with our loved ones. I would like to give Newland House 10/10 for their amazing care.
What incredible words about our lovely team at Newland House. It is our pleasure to look after your Dad and we, like you, are absolutely delighted to see him thriving in our care. These have been very difficult times for us all but keeping everyone safe and well, as well as happy of course, is always our top priority. We will ensure everybody at Newland House sees your wonderful 10/10 review.
My father gets very anxious when in new surroundings or meeting new people but the staff listened, and took on board his, and my own concerns.
He receives care, company and a compass; what more could I wish for?
Thank you so much for your wonderful comments about Newland House. We are delighted you are so reassured about the care and company he is enjoying with us.
The residents and carers are like a family, which includes visitors and are always there to help one another. It is a very relaxed atmosphere making any new resident settle in very quickly to our home from home. From the excellent manager to the carers, cook, domestic staff, maintenance, you couldn't get a nicer team of people, I should say friends and I thank you all for kindness.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments about Newland House. It is our pleasure to look after your wife and to have you both as part of the Newland family. We look forward to seeing you again and will pass on your super review to all your friends here.
Before lockdown was put in place we were able to visit whenever we wanted, no appointment was necessary, and everyone always appeared settled and happy. Since the lockdown, I have visited and had a chat with mum through the window - I know other families have done the same on birthdays etc.
There are regular updates and photos posted on Newlands’ social media page which reassures families that their loved ones are being well looked after - especially important during this awful time.
I can’t thank the staff enough for all their kindness and compassion.
We really appreciate your wonderful words about Newland House. This is a challenging time for all of us and we are glad you are reassured that we are taking great care of your mother.
This is a lovely home picked out from the many I visited when trying to find somewhere for Mum to stay. The brilliant staff brought her back to health in an amazingly short time and got her walking and talking again when we thought all was lost. She has been there over a year now and is looked after incredibly well. I would definitely recommend Newland House.
Thank you so much for your lovely review of Newland House. It is our pleasure to care for your Mum. We shall pass on your wonderful comments to our fantastic Newland team so they know how much you appreciate them all.
Staff very caring and attentive.
Safe environment.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review of Newland House. We are very glad you find it so friendly and caring. We shall pass on your remarks to our terrific team there who are looking after your loved one.
During my mother's recent illness, the manager and staff have shown great care and compassion towards my mother's needs. I trust the home with my mum's care and it cannot be faulted.
Thank you so much for your lovely review of Newland House. Our wonderful manager and team there will be thrilled with your comments and we are so pleased that you trust them so much in providing care for your mother.
It's taken a load off my mind to know she is safe and well looked after. The staff are kind and I am happy with the care she is given.
Thank you so much for taking the time to submit your review, Peter. We are delighted that you are happy with the care that Newland is providing, which is giving you peace of mind. We shall pass on your positive comments to the staff there.
During the following weeks, I was able to see first hand how this change was being brought about by both the generally happy atmosphere pervading the whole home and the care, concern and encouragement provided by the staff. They genuinely wanted him to come downstairs to sit and eat with everybody else, to make friends and join in activities.
Now, just short of three months on, much of the battle is won - partly due perhaps to a recent increase in staff numbers and a change in management making more time for his carers to do what they do so well.
Thank you for taking the time to review your experience with us at Newland House. We are so pleased you have been impressed with the care your husband has received, that you felt our happy home atmosphere and sense of companionship. It is lovely to hear you would be happy to recommend us to others...
I have been very happy with the care and support given to my mother, sometimes in very difficult circumstances. The staff are dedicated team nothing is too much bother for them.
