Overall Experience
The Barchester Oxford Beaumont Care Community took care of both of my parents, including end-of-life care. All of the staff ended up being an extended family to us, providing exceptional care throughout three years of my parents being in the home.
From cleaning staff to carers, to nurses, to admin staff, to cooks, to activity staff, all went over and above to make my parents as comfortable and happy as possible in their final years.
Both suffered from dementia and therefore, their care was challenging at times but the team always worked with the family, listening to our wishes and ensuring safety and dignity at all times were provided.
Both my mother and father had carers and nurse who should get special mentions for their consistency of such a high standard of care throughout. We had confidence that when we weren't at the home, we could still rely on the staff to maintain their consistent standards.

We would recommend this home in all areas and have reflected this in our ratings.

Both my mum and dad have been cared for at the Barchester Oxford Beaumont Care Community in the last three years.
From day one, we have been made welcome. The care my parents received was amazing, every member of staff was caring, attentive, loving and friendly. The home is kept spotlessly clean and the food is excellent, with a good choice each day.
They both loved the daily activities and were always encouraged to join in, if we were visiting we also joined in and loved seeing their faces light up as they remembered all the songs and dances, even learning new skills!
The end-of-life care they both received was special in every way for them and us.

We would thoroughly recommend the Beaumont to everyone.

You all look after my mum brilliantly. She is so much better than when she arrived, despite relying on the health service less. Your constant care and attention is making all the difference - from front of house to her care givers and all those who we haven't met. The food is wonderful and everything is spotless. But most of all, everyone's love and care shines through.

My mother received first-class wonderful care. All the staff are kind caring and do everything they can to make life happy for residents. I cannot recommend the Beaumont highly enough. She really enjoyed in particular the daily activities which were varied. It really was a home-from-home experience for her and we are truly grateful for the care afforded to her.

Overall Experience
My wife has been a resident of this excellent care home for 18 months. This is an award-winning home surrounded by beautiful gardens in the heart of Boars Hill close to Oxford.
Here is a well-structured, well-run and refreshing management system creating an efficient and happy environment where staff and residents work and live in a family-type atmosphere.
First impressions are so important, and the reception area and reception staff do not disappoint, they are so welcoming and willing to help.
The nurses are caring and are always available for advice if required.
Meals are served in a nice dining room and the food is varied with a good choice of excellent food.
The care home is always clean, and the rooms are kept tidy, and clothing is washed regularly.
A hugely successful element of the Beaumont is the proactive activities department. There is always something going on and there are regular visits from a variety of entertainers. Trips in the minibus are frequently arranged to take residents to local places of interest.
Possibly the most important element of any care home are the carers, those unheralded people who go about their daily work often unnoticed. Here at the Beaumont are the very best of carers, excellent carers where nothing is too much trouble and where there is an obvious bond between them and the residents. Sometimes a very difficult and demanding job but where, at the Beaumont, they go about their work quietly and give superb care and dignity to those they look after.

I am grateful to the Beaumont for the care given to my wife.

Cannot rate this care community highly enough. The care my grandmother received during her time there was second to none. Such kindly, friendly, compassionate staff who can't do enough for residents and their families, especially during difficult times. The care my grandmother received at the end of her life was especially phenomenal and the staff made sure she was always comfortable and dignified. They also couldn't do enough for us, as a family, as we spent those last precious days with her in the comfort of her lovely room. My grandfather is now a resident here too and is also receiving the very best care possible. We've actually seen a marked improvement in his dementia in just a few months, which is testament to the care he receives. He especially loves all the music-related activities, the wonderful food and sitting in the reception area, watching all the comings and goings! Our family can't thank the team at Barchester Oxford Beaumont Care Community enough! Would not hesitate to recommend.

Overall Experience
The Beaumont were fantastic during the final weeks of my Grandma's life. The staff couldn't have done more to make her final weeks as comfortable as possible and were even there for the family - making us cups of tea and offering us cake etc.
They really cared for her well and when she did pass, many of the staff were genuinely upset and you could tell really cared for Grandma.
Grandma was in there for two years and enjoyed the daily activities and food, the staff are consistent and even though she had dementia, she got to know similar faces every day which helped.
Also what was kind is that a number of the staff also attended her funeral.
Thank you to all the staff who made Grandma's last few weeks as dignified and peaceful as possible.

I would highly recommend this nursing home.

The Beaumont have cared for my husband with care, courtesy and kindness. The GP visits, also chiropodist and hairdresser. The staff are charming. Regular health reviews take place and I am kept informed of significant changes. While his bedroom is rather small and his wheelchair is long, he spends time in a spacious lounge. I am so glad he is there.

The care for my mother has been exemplary. She is treated with kindness and compassion with a professional approach.

I have been impressed that the entire team, all disciplines throughout know my mum and have such a unique supportive atmosphere to each other and to me as a relative. This creates a genuine family atmosphere, in homely surroundings, for all residents and all under the guidance of expert management. Each day when I leave her, I feel secure in the knowledge that she is safe, content and well cared for. Thank you to all Beaumont staff.

I am updating my review of the Oxford Beaumont as my mother has now been a resident for nearly three years. The nursing home market is competitive but the only thing that matters is how well your loved one is looked after. The Oxford Beaumont is not as modern as some places (fancy bars for visitors at some homes are just for show in my opinion). What the Oxford Beaumont offers is an exceptional level of care and a proactive approach to nursing. There is a high ratio of highly qualified and experienced nurses on duty at all times as well as carers. The peace of mind you have, is that the staff and managers will go out of their way to make sure your relative is well cared for. The team are responsive, caring and warm to residents and visitors alike. They managed the COVID-19 times safely and continue to look after my mum really well. I would recommend this nursing home to you if you are looking for a place for your loved one.

My mother was cared for in a wonderful, caring, homely environment, nothing was too much trouble for any member of staff. The care my father received from staff and management, despite the difficulties caused by his dementia, was exemplary. He was treated with kindness and compassion. Everyone who comes here, even visiting family and friends, are always treated to tea and cake and made to feel like part of the Beaumont family. My mother, who now lives in a nearby assisted living apartment, enjoys her independence but she is encouraged daily to partake in social activities and particularly loves the musical events, French lessons, Knit and Natter and the regular outings in and around Oxford.

Anyone looking for a kind and caring home for their loved ones need look no further.

Hello, I’m Paulina, the Senior General Manager of the Oxford Beaumont Care Community. Thank you for visiting our website!

My journey into health and social care, as well as my time at Oxford Beaumont, began quite unexpectedly. In 2014, while studying, I took a short-term role as a bank cashier to improve my English. What was originally meant to last only three months ended up being a life-changing experience. Through everyday conversations and connections with residents, I discovered how deeply rewarding it is to care for others, which completely changed my career path.

After completing my Master’s in Law in 2016, I chose to follow my heart and fully commit to health and social care. Throughout my career development, I progressed from Carer to Senior Carer, then became Administrator, and now I have the privilege of leading this exceptional home.

Alongside my dedicated team, we are unwavering in our commitment to providing our residents with the highest quality support and care every single day. I am deeply passionate about fostering a community where everyone receives outstanding support. We empower our residents to live fulfilling lives and celebrate each moment. My vision is to create a place where everyone feels safe, valued, and empowered to be themselves. Join us in experiencing the warmth and excellence of Oxford Beaumont.

I studied physiology at Oxford from 1996 to 2002 and qualified as a nurse in 2004. Since 2012, I have worked in care homes as a nurse and as a care home coordinator during the pandemic. I choose to specialise in older adult nursing because of the breadth of nursing skills required and opportunities offered, and because I can really get to know and understand residents and their families over weeks, months and years, truly walking alongside them. I also worked as a lecturer in adult nursing at Oxford Brookes, overseeing care home placements for student nurses and am a member of the British Geriatrics Society.

In April 2025, I discovered and was delighted to join the amazing team at Oxford Beaumont and now work as Deputy General Manager and Palliative Care Champion. It is an honour to be a part of the dedicated team serving this diverse care community.

Anna has been a valued member of Oxford Beaumont Care Community since 2008, bringing warmth, skill, and a deep commitment to person-centred care through her work in the kitchen. As our Second Chef, Anna goes far beyond preparing meals — she takes the time to get to know each resident, learning their personal preferences, cherished family recipes, and favourite comfort foods. For Anna, cooking is not just about nutrition, but about connection. Whether she’s recreating a resident’s favourite dish or simply stopping by to ask how they enjoyed lunch, Anna’s caring nature and attention to detail shine through in every plate she serves. Her years of experience, dedication, and friendly approach make her a much-loved member of both the team and the wider home community. Anna believes that food has the power to bring comfort, joy, and a sense of home — and that belief is at the heart of everything she does.

Hello, I am Judith, and I am a Volunteer here at the Oxford Beaumont Care Community.

I am much enjoying being a volunteer at the Oxford Beaumont a couple of times a week, both chatting to the Residents and running a very elementary French class. I have lived on Boars Hill for many years now, with my late husband, who spent his last few months being very well looked after here, at the Oxford Beaumont. Before that, we had lived a very peripatetic life all over the world and it is a great pleasure to be able to meet the interesting staff and residents at Oxford Beaumont.

Jan Job Title:Resident AmbassadorJoined: 2024

I’m Jan, Resident Ambassador for the Oxford Beaumont Care Home.

I moved here in late April 2024, and the warm welcome extended to me by everyone here made my transition to a care environment very easy - I quickly felt included and valued.

My role is to be an ambassador for the incredible care that we receive at Oxford Beaumont and to be the voice of the residents about anything at all that comes up. I’m often to be found near the front door, so I'm easily available if anyone fancies a chat! Perhaps teaching for nearly 40 years has helped with confidence and a genuine enjoyment of being with many different people.

I support the staff here in speaking to prospective residents about long-term or respite care, and I’m happy to share my positive experience of settling in and becoming part of this friendly community.

Our social contact with each other is a key part of staying well, happy and purposeful, and I much enjoy chatting, joining in the activities and contributing to the friendliness of mealtimes. We get to know each other well and care about each other, which makes it a special community to be part of.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the Oxford Beaumont to anyone considering a move into a care home, whether short or long stay – we are well looked after and it is a wonderful environment to be in.

We also have a lovely avenue of trees in the garden where we can enjoy being together outside, too, when the weather permits.

If any resident has any feedback or suggestions, or you just need a bit of support to make the most of life here, please do come and find me, and I’ll be very happy to help.
