My father came here in July 2019 to be nearer to me for his final few weeks, he was so frail. He has made a miraculous recovery since being here, with the care and friendships he has made has helped him enormously, he enjoys all the days out, entertainment and choice of food that the home provides and this July 2023 will be his fourth year here. I would recommend The Oxford Beaumont to anyone looking for a care home for their loved ones

My mum spent her last 3 years in Barchester Oxford Beaumont. All of the staff were very welcoming and friendly. My mum soon became part of their family. We could not have wished for a better place for my mum to be and for the care that she received. There was always plenty of activities and entertainment going on, which everyone joined in including the staff. It was a happy place for my mum and for our family knowing she was well cared for. Thank you.

The food is appalling. On viewing the home told all veg is fresh - it's not! The majority of meals are inedible. Residents rely on omelettes and cheese on toast. Raised in residents meeting - nothing done. Spoke with the manager - flippant and condescending! Showed no concern regarding the seriousness of the situation. Offered to arrange a meeting between cook and Mum-in-Law - appalling. The majority of activities are not taking place.

I visit my friend 3 times a week. She is very well and is as contented as anyone who had a high-powered career and valued her independence and now has dementia. I personally have been welcomed warmly by the staff on the desk. The carers have to become friends. If one has to be cared for in a home this is a good one!

All of our family witnessed a very compassionate, caring, dedicated and professional team of staff members. We could not have wished for a better place for my father to have been placed, especially for the level of care in his final weeks before he passed away. Our hope is that other families need to rely on passionate, caring and supportive people as we had. A lovely atmosphere and comfortable surroundings. We were fortunate to have the help and support my father and the family were given.

This is the best nursing home I've seen here in the UK, the whole staff are nice and fantastic! As much as the love and they put into such hard work. Every time I come there I feel at home. I hope that every nursing home in the UK could look like this one, all the people who live there would be happier.

Wonderful staff, always very approachable, go above and beyond in what they do. Mum couldn't be in a better place. She loves the staff but struggles with the food due to being Celiac, I would say that is the only point that needs addressing going forward. Overall Experience
The Barchester Oxford Beaumont Care Community is a lovely, comfortable house of the type often found in Boars Hill. It is situated in a green belt, so has beautiful surroundings (with the best view of Oxford). And plenty of parking.
The staff are professional and responsive but also friendly, warm, attentive, kind and caring, they obviously like the residents, each other and working there (attributes that come from the top). In particular, the nurses are conscientious and thoroughly careful with medication and monitoring (our neurologist was particularly impressed with their records).
Last, but not least, the home has an excellent chef who produces three-course lunches and dinners served in the dining room (or in residents' rooms, should they so wish). And she caters for all tastes and requirements (e.g. vegan).

Can't be praised highly enough.

The staff at Oxford Beaumont are exceptional and went above and beyond when my mother was admitted in the Covid pandemic after a fall. There are lots of qualified nurses on-site who act proactively to keep my mother well. All the carers and admin staff are excellent too. The food is very good according to my mother, who is fussy, and her room is lovely and kept very clean. They have worked very hard to keep socially distanced visits going through the pandemic and all measures are taken for Covid safety. Would recommend this home without hesitation.

Paulina Pronczyk
Paulina PronczykJob Title:Senior General ManagerJoined: 2014

Hello, I’m Paulina, the Senior General Manager of the Oxford Beaumont Care Community. Thank you for visiting our website!

My journey into health and social care, as well as my time at Oxford Beaumont, began quite unexpectedly. In 2014, while studying, I took a short-term role as a bank cashier to improve my English. What was originally meant to last only three months ended up being a life-changing experience. Through everyday conversations and connections with residents, I discovered how deeply rewarding it is to care for others, which completely changed my career path.

After completing my Master’s in Law in 2016, I chose to follow my heart and fully commit to health and social care. Throughout my career development, I progressed from Carer to Senior Carer, then became Administrator, and now I have the privilege of leading this exceptional home.

Alongside my dedicated team, we are unwavering in our commitment to providing our residents with the highest quality support and care every single day. I am deeply passionate about fostering a community where everyone receives outstanding support. We empower our residents to live fulfilling lives and celebrate each moment. My vision is to create a place where everyone feels safe, valued, and empowered to be themselves. Join us in experiencing the warmth and excellence of Oxford Beaumont.

Helen CowanJob Title:Deputy General ManagerJoined: 2025

I studied physiology at Oxford from 1996 to 2002 and qualified as a nurse in 2004. Since 2012, I have worked in care homes as a nurse and as a care home coordinator during the pandemic. I choose to specialise in older adult nursing because of the breadth of nursing skills required and opportunities offered, and because I can really get to know and understand residents and their families over weeks, months and years, truly walking alongside them. I also worked as a lecturer in adult nursing at Oxford Brookes, overseeing care home placements for student nurses and am a member of the British Geriatrics Society.

In April 2025, I discovered and was delighted to join the amazing team at Oxford Beaumont and now work as Deputy General Manager and Palliative Care Champion. It is an honour to be a part of the dedicated team serving this diverse care community.

Hello, I am Judith, and I am a Volunteer here at the Oxford Beaumont Care Community.

I am much enjoying being a volunteer at the Oxford Beaumont a couple of times a week, both chatting to the Residents and running a very elementary French class. I have lived on Boars Hill for many years now, with my late husband, who spent his last few months being very well looked after here, at the Oxford Beaumont. Before that, we had lived a very peripatetic life all over the world and it is a great pleasure to be able to meet the interesting staff and residents at Oxford Beaumont.

Jan
Jan Job Title:Resident AmbassadorJoined: 2024

I’m Jan, Resident Ambassador for the Oxford Beaumont Care Home.

I moved here in late April 2024, and the warm welcome extended to me by everyone here made my transition to a care environment very easy - I quickly felt included and valued.

My role is to be an ambassador for the incredible care that we receive at Oxford Beaumont and to be the voice of the residents about anything at all that comes up. I’m often to be found near the front door, so I'm easily available if anyone fancies a chat! Perhaps teaching for nearly 40 years has helped with confidence and a genuine enjoyment of being with many different people.

I support the staff here in speaking to prospective residents about long-term or respite care, and I’m happy to share my positive experience of settling in and becoming part of this friendly community.

Our social contact with each other is a key part of staying well, happy and purposeful, and I much enjoy chatting, joining in the activities and contributing to the friendliness of mealtimes. We get to know each other well and care about each other, which makes it a special community to be part of.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the Oxford Beaumont to anyone considering a move into a care home, whether short or long stay – we are well looked after and it is a wonderful environment to be in.

We also have a lovely avenue of trees in the garden where we can enjoy being together outside, too, when the weather permits.

If any resident has any feedback or suggestions, or you just need a bit of support to make the most of life here, please do come and find me, and I’ll be very happy to help.

As the Family & Friends Ambassador, I foster communication between the team and the community of residents, families, and friends. This collaborative effort is instrumental in maintaining a high-quality, compassionate, and responsive approach to care. I am a liaison point in quality improvement initiatives to enable more robust and inclusive engagement and community involvement. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
