Rosebank is situated in the beautiful village of Bampton in West Oxfordshire. Rosebank is an independently run 28 bedded Care Home, which prides itself on providing personal care in a friendly, homely and supportive environment.

The philosophy is to enable people to continue their lives in a dignified, loving and safe home. Bampton has a vibrant community life which carers encourage residents to be a part of. The home is integrated into the community and they in turn are actively involved in the home.

In addition, the home is truly fortunate to have an excellent medical team in the village, of GPs, district nurses and a pharmacy, who visit the home daily and involve themselves in all phases of care.

All staff are well trained and are supported to achieve national qualifications. The home also has a comprehensive in house training programme. Staff are experienced to deal with all aspects of care in the elderly, including physical infirmity and psychological needs. Carers have a particular expertise in the management of dementia.

The home can accommodate long and short term stays, day care, rehabilitation and respite stays.

Selecting a care home for a loved one is an important decision. Interested parties are welcome to call or visit the home at any time. Staff will be happy to chat to you and offer any guidance, advice and support they are able.

I am always impressed with the atmosphere when I visit my sister in Rosebank. It is relaxed and comfortable, with the various residents able to walk around if they are capable and those sitting down seem happy and well cared for. My sister has settled in very well and seems happy. The staff are so
patient and genuinely caring and gentle.

My sister moved to Rosebank in August 2022 after she fell and broke her femur and was unable to live in her own home safely. It was a very stressful time. I was very worried about how she would adapt to living in an unfamiliar environment. She had been very aggressive to care staff when living at home
and refused personal care or other interventions. While in hospital after her fall, she had been very challenging with hospital staff refusing personal care, food, physiotherapy and medication. However, as soon as she moved to Rosebank she seemed to relax and settled in remarkably quickly. She always looks happy and relaxed when people visit. I think the lovely environment that the Rosebank staff provide has made it possible for her to relax and accept the care that she needs. I have been able to relax after several stressful years of managing her care from a long distance and increasing concerns about her safety and well-being when living alone in her own home. Thank you, Rosebank!

I only wish that we had had the confidence to send my mother to Rosebank earlier rather than using live-in carers at home, she would have benefitted more from all the activities that were encouraged and provided by the carers at Rosebank. My sister has lived at Rosebank for nearly two years from early in the pandemic. As I live nearly 200 miles away sadly I can rarely visit her. I know I can absolutely trust the care staff to look after her with all the love and skill I could wish for. As her dementia progresses I know she is in the
best possible place. Rosebank is a lovely, comfortable and happy home with welcoming, friendly staff and many varied activities to create a lively atmosphere. A big thank you to everyone.

Following a fall we needed a place for my mum that day. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and reassuring, they even managed to have mum's name on her door when we got there. All the care values Rosebank say they believe in they really live by. My mum is a different person. Before she went in
she was lonely not eating and sad. Now she is smiling joining in the activities and is happier than I have seen her in years. She loves the food and the staff are so caring and loving. I cannot imagine a better place for my mum.

During my fathers stay in Rosebank I have found the whole team to be patient and caring. He arrived at Rosebank during lockdown which meant we were unable to visit him properly. But window and telephone visits were possible and Rosebank quickly opened their purpose built visiting hub which eased the
difficulties.
Everyone worked patiently and tirelessly to help him settle and feel safe. In doing that they also ensured that we knew he was being cared for and could be confident that we had made the best decision possible when he was no longer able to remain in his home.
The lifestyle team were always cheerful and warm, encouraging Dad to join in activities, but also sensitive to when he needed time to himself. Rosebank have a lovely garden which Dad enjoyed during the summer and gave him peace.
The care Dad received from everyone in Rosebank was outstanding , but also the care we received as a family. They do a very difficult job and should be proud of themselves.Penny

My sister had been brought downstairs in a room overlooking the garden and although she is unaware of it, we the visitors are, and it makes the visit so much more agreeable to see green grass in moments of sadness! I spent three and a half days with her and was pleasantly surprised to see how often
the carers came in to check on my sister in spite of their workload.

My stepmother had several odd weeks of respite care before becoming a full-time resident in August. This has to be one of the most caring homes without fail. All the staff were welcoming and treated her so professionally for me and my family were secure in the knowledge that she was happy and any problem

Rosebank has given excellent dementia care to my Mum for almost four years now. As her needs have increased, the care has stepped up seamlessly, so we have never had to worry about her welfare. Staff keep us informed and the home is very professionally run. On a personal level, carers are kind and empathetic
and very gifted in dealing with people like my Mum. Big thanks for all they do for her and us.

I have worked in the care sector and with Rosebank for over 16 years. I began my journey with Rosebank as a care worker and I am so proud to have progressed to home manager. I have loved working in care from the very beginning – I love taking care of our residents and making their lives enjoyable and fulfilling. If I can make at least one of my residents laugh or smile during the day, it makes my day!


Our vision for Rosebank has always been that it is, first and foremost our residents. Home; a place where they feel loved, safe, respected, and treated with dignity.


To help achieve this, our staff must understand our values, and be kind and compassionate... But also fun!


Our values are centred around residents having a sense of purpose and belonging, living well, and finding enjoyment. This is supported by ensuring residents have a choice, every day, on how they want to spend their time and with whom.


Having a link with our local community is a key priority at Rosebank. It is something we have striven to achieve and continue to develop. It is central to the happiness of our residents. The community at Bampton are involved in the lives of our residents on a daily basis. This is supported through regular interactions with local school children and even toddler groups.


Rosebank is a beautiful home, set in stunning Oxfordshire surroundings, but the essence of the home, and the very fabric of who we are, is nothing without the staff within it. The team is everything, from careful recruitment to ongoing support, training, and feeling valued and part of our family.

When I'm not at Rosebank, I love nothing more than spending time with my husband, children, grandchildren & dog. I am also a carer for my own mother on my days off, which I love doing as I get to spend lots of time with her.

I came to work at Rosebank during the pandemic in Dec 2020 and I love every minute of working here. I am so proud that as a team we can help make such a positive difference to our residents and their families’ lives.


Before joining Rosebank, I worked in the luxury travel industry for over 20 years, organising round-the-world trips, marathons, fashion shoots and even some weddings. Due to the pandemic, I took voluntary redundancy, which is what led me to Rosebank!


In my spare time, I am kept on my toes with my 2 children and a complete house renovation project but when we get some downtime, you will always find me nipping off for long weekends or holidays in our caravan.

I originally started as a freelance painter & decorator but then came on board full time as the Maintenance Operative, where I work between Rosebank & Churchfields, spending a few days per week in each care home.


I started my working career many moons ago as an apprentice engineer, which was really interesting, especially working within the stunning university buildings in Oxford. After this, I used my new skills to work with the farming industries, helping to erect specialist farming buildings. I then moved on to own my own shop in Faringdon, selling antiques and collectables. I have also been in the painting & decorating business on and off since the 80’s.


I really enjoy the care industry, I will always make time to stop and have a chat to any residents about their day.

Fiona has over 30 years of experience working within the healthcare sector and is a Registered Nurse, remaining active on the NMC register. Her management career started as a charge nurse and then as a ward manager within the NHS, working in wards specialising in care for older adults enduring mental health conditions and dementia.


For the last 15 years, Fiona has worked in the Care Home Sector, taking on various Management roles, including Registered Manager, Regional Support Manager, Clinical and Quality Manager, Compliance Consultant and Operations Manager.


Remaining very hands-on clinically, she is passionate about supporting our management teams to deliver exceptional person-centred care, ensuring all individuals can maintain their independence and enjoy the excellent quality of life our care homes offer.

Sonya Virdee

Job Title: Group Clinical Manager

Sonya has been a qualified nurse for over 22 years, with extensive experience in both Acute and community settings across various National Health Care Services (NHS) in Northwest London. She has also worked in the Middle East with the Government on projects including reducing amputation rates and promoting awareness on wound management. In 2022, Sonya transitioned into the Nursing Home industry to utilise her broad knowledge and skills in managing clients with chronic conditions.


Sonya initially qualified as a general nurse in 2023 and went on to attain further qualifications, including Tissue Viability (specialising in managing all types of wounds, including cancerous wounds, pressure ulcers, and leg ulcers), Teaching and Co-mentoring, Leadership and Management. She also holds a master’s degree in Health and Social Person-Centred Care and a Meta Master's in Behaviour Studies.


She was previously the Home Manager at Kingfishers Care Home in Bourne End, where she had the privilege of being part of a diverse, modern, and dynamic management team at Premier Health Care. In her new role as Group Clinical Manager within the Premium Care Group, Sonya will be using her expertise to support the homes in achieving and maintaining high clinical standards.


In her spare time, Sonya enjoys reading and watching documentaries.
