We have always been pleased with the care Greenacres have and are providing for our relative. From front of house to the care staff (who deserve more appreciation and money for their hard work). When we visit the team knows who we are and who we are visiting and is always happy to talk and update us on our relative's care and also up-and-coming events. The food always smells lovely and our relative has never complained, her room is clean which we know we can make her own.
When Covid struck, care homes came under a lot of fire but did anyone actually see what new policies and guidelines the managers had to put in place basically overnight, I doubt it. Though we know and cannot thank them all enough.
They all deserve a big thank you.

Thank you!

From a very promising start 4 years ago the standard of care that my mother received declined. I was constantly asking the home to add information to her care plan which should have been updated by themselves, eg. checking her fluid input, ensuring that her feet were raised as instructed by her GP, taking her to the toilet regularly, etc. It was clear that most carers did not look at the care plan. I even had to ask for her bathroom to be cleaned at one stage!
My mother was admitted to hospital in April 2022 with dehydration and a nasty wound in her leg. 16 days later she died. No one contacted me from the home and no one came to her funeral. I am still devastated by the attitude of the home before and following her death.
There were some good individual carers but some demonstrated that their training was inadequate.

I will never get over the fact that my 93-year-old mother had such suffering towards the end of her life when she should have been cared for.

Greenacres proved to offer excellent care for both of my parents since their arrival earlier this year and being offered a double room. Sadly, my mum passed away recently but the support, kindness and care that we have all received from all of the staff have been overwhelming. We are confident knowing that Dad's ongoing needs without Mum will be met by the team members who continue to comfort and support him. Greenacres have a real family feel. We always receive a warm welcome when we visit, nothing is too much trouble. We feel comfortable ringing for updates and knowing that if anything were amiss we would be contacted immediately. So pleased we chose Greenacres, a great recommendation from a friend.

My mum has been a resident for almost a year and I am very satisfied with the care she receives. I know she is safe and has company and there are various activities which she is encouraged to join in with. My mum has dementia and it is evident that she is being well cared for. The staff are all pleasant and treat my mum with dignity and respect. Overall, I am very pleased.

My relative is always praising the staff at Greenacres and as a visitor, I'm made to feel extremely welcome. I visit very regularly and my relative is always well turned out and looking clean and fresh. My relative is always complimentary about living at Greenacres and tells me how lucky she is to be living there.

Obviously, it has been an extremely difficult time, especially for relatives of residents and, no doubt staff, because of Covid. Everyone gets stressed, me in particular, not knowing when I am going to be able to see my mum in more “conducive” circumstances. There were times when we, as a family, felt outside of things that were happening. Especially as my mum is getting that much older and I often cried myself to sleep wondering if she would remember me and praying that nothing would happen to her before we could see her! However, I have to say that even through what must have been a stressful time for the caring staff, they didn’t let Mum forget who I was. Things are much better now and I thank all of the staff for their support. One member of staff has been particularly helpful (as are all of the staff) and I sincerely thank all of you at Greenacres. As with the song "Things can only get better".

Mum was admitted to Greenacres as an emergency in December 2020. We weren't given a choice as to where mum went, but we couldn't have wished for mum to be in a better Care Home. We're in such strange times at the moment so the initial assessment was done by phone. From this moment, we knew mum was in safe hands. The assessment was very thorough and informative but above all, staff were so friendly and supportive making such a difference at a very anxious and difficult time. They keep us updated with the ever-changing procedures around visiting and I can honestly say that every member of staff we have spoken to have been so helpful and friendly. Mum took a while to settle but we have seen such a change in her. Mum is so well looked after. Her hair's done nicely, her nails are painted, her clothes are fresh and she is what I call 'proper' clean. But most important of all, Mum is happy. For that, we are so grateful. Thank you!

I have continued to be so impressed and so grateful for the kindness and the quality of the care that the staff at Greenacres give to my parents who are both fortunate enough to be resident at Greenacres. I have nothing but praise and appreciation for all their efforts in continuing to provide as normal a day to day life as possible through all the uncertainties that the pandemic has brought. The quality of the communication and the creative efforts of the staff team to enable families to stay connected as best they can is, also, so appreciated.

Thank you.

My mother moved recently to Greenacres, I have only had phone contact with the Team at the home but they have been so helpful, going above and beyond what I would have expected (being that it is not a private care home). This has made me very reassured about my mum's care. I look forward to meeting them in person when I visit next week. Thank you all. I am only able to choose Satisfactory on the many options as I haven't actually been there yet.

My dad moved to Greenacres in August 2020. Due to the covid restrictions, we were unable to visit the home in person, they were able to do a virtual tour showing us around. The manager and her staff made the transition from home into Greenacres for my dad very easy. Since he has been there he has been poorly but the staff have been brilliant in the care, that they gave him. Greenacres has been brilliant during the covid lockdowns, in making visits to the home. They now have screened visits in place which is very good.

Father has been resident for 18 months and has had very good care from excellent staff. Nothing is too much trouble. He enjoys the selection of food, participates in activities he fancies and likes the outings (when a available). As his mobility has deteriorated, he has happily changed to a frame with use of a wheelchair for distances. He is often seen reading his daily paper (organised through a local newsagent) or a book of some kind and watches some TV, either in the lounge or in his bedroom. One problem I have found is that Dad mislays his hearing aids and they disappear, never to be seen again, which means his communication is very poor. Communication with the staff is fine if you speak to the right person, but on the whole Greenacres is a great place to be.

Reply from Leigh Arney, Manager at Greenacres

Thank you for taking the time to review Greenacres and we are pleased that you rate our overall standard as excellent. We will ensure that our staff team are aware of your kind comments. We will look into the misplacement of your father’s hearing aids and encourage you to contact us directly so we can resolve this.

Very happy for my mother to be there, as she has onset Alzheimer's and they are very good with her. They keep me informed if she has any falls and during this pandemic, again they have kept me informed as and when they do the tests and with the results. All the staff are lovely and do a brilliant job, even more so now.

My mother, who suffers from dementia, has been a resident for two years now and has received very good care. The home is clean and bright, and the staff are friendly and caring. They hold regular activities and outings which Mum enjoys. They are very good at keeping us informed and have been exceptional during the Covid lockdown by sending regular emails and videos. Mum is very happy there, and I would thoroughly recommend Greenacres.

Mother has now been resident at Greenacres for six months, having arrived there after a bad fall and with a broken arm. She was in a poor state of health but was able to make a remarkable recovery due to the exemplary care offered by Greenacres. The staff are so helpful and friendly, and always willing to help in any way. The home itself is always spotlessly clean and tidy. Food is good, varied and plentiful. I would have no hesitation in recommending to friends and family.

Greenacres is an exceptional care home. My mother in law has had the very best care provided by an amazing care team. All staff have been the most amazing people during COVID-19. I would highly recommend Greenacres as a home from home for anyone looking for a safe secure and happy place for an older relative to live if required.
