Greys Residential Home is a converted rectory and has been run as a care home by the Kennedy family since 1984. Over the years, the house has had extensive investments to provide the modern facilities available today. The latest investment in 2024 is a renovation of the East wing, which provides 4 large rooms with en-suite facilities and private doors onto the secure gardens.

Greys is registered for 24 older people age 65+. Offering care for people with mobility and memory issues and those who just don't want to be alone anymore. Approximately 50% of Residents have a diagnosis of dementia, however clients are only accepted in the early stages of dementia.

Resident accommodation is over two floors and there is a lift to the first floor. Staff reside on the second floor.

The Residents all have their own en-suite bathroom. All rooms have a TV and telephone point and a carer call system. Rooms are furnished to suit the Resident and personal items are encouraged to make the room homely and familiar.

Residents can enjoy several gardens and outside seating and patio areas. The main garden and rear garden is decked flat and accessible from downstairs bedrooms.

There are two spacious lounges with televisions and tea and coffee making facilities. There is also a dining room and library books available for Residents to use. All communal areas have just completed a full refurbishment programme.

A hairdresser visits weekly and the chiropodist monthly, whilst doctor and dentist visits can be arranged any time.

Wi-Fi connection is available throughout the home and there are video-conferencing facilities such as Zoom & Skype.

The home offers a full and varied range of activities including trips out. Recent visits include boat trips down the River Wey, Guildford Cathedral flower festival, exotic butterflies at RHS Wisley, The Ritz, The Ivy & Buckingham Palace (these trips are accessible to all Residents).

My mother was very well looked after, kind staff caring and providing company for my mother.
The meals were also excellent.
The staff were very attentive and dealt with situations arising from ill health etc efficiently.

I've always found Greys to be a friendly environment. Staff are always very welcoming. Dad always seemed very happy to be there.
I always felt very re-assured that dad was in a safe and friendly place and was being well looked after.

My mother was a resident for over 6 years and we chose Greys because it was a well run, independent, family residential home with a homely environment. Over the six years, the standards of care strengthened and it remained an excellent home for my mother. The carers are well trained and experienced
and many have worked there for several years giving continuity of care and a stable home environment.
I can recommend this home without reservations.

I was in this home for 2 weeks respite care, feeling apprehensive prior to arrival. I was greeted by caring staff. Everyone from management to cleaners treated me as a friend. The best way to describe my stay was "I chilled". I will be returning when my wife has another operation and I know I will be

My initial view of Greys I formed whilst looking for care for my mother, it hasn't changed during the time she's resided there.
It is a well maintained and tastefully decorated care home run on a commonsense basis, accommodating the needs and wishes of the residents, rather than for the convenience
of the staff which is, unfortunately, all to often the case. I visit Greys regularly and the staff have always been friendly, professional and approachable. Most importantly they care for the residents with kindness and compassion.
Regular activities and outings are arranged for those residents who want to participate. The food is nutritious and varied and includes themed weeks featuring cuisine from other countries for residents to sample.
Greys truly is a home from home!

My mother was moved to Greys in December last year as she was no longer able to care for herself at home. I reside permanently in Australia so as you can imagine this has been a difficult time for us as it's been challenging trying to organise somewhere from halfway around the world. Greys were amazing
from the first phone call my wife made to them enquiring as to whether they would be able to take mum as she also has dementia. They were professional, helpful and provided great advice and assistance. They have been fantastic from the first day she arrived and take wonderful care of her. We visited in August/September this year and could not be happier with the care she receives, she also looks better than she has in years. We know that we don't need to worry about mum as she is receiving premium care and Greys has a lovely 'homely' feel about it, she also has a room leading out to a beautiful garden. We are extremely grateful to Greys and the outstanding care provided.

I have visited Greys for a number of years and also different residents sometimes in their rooms and sometimes in one of the lounges. I am welcomed by cheerful, friendly staff. In the summer tables, chairs and umbrellas are put out for the residents to enjoy the well-kept gardens. Birthdays are celebrated
with a cake and entertainment. Different events like garden parties take place as well as activities through the year. My visits are a joy not a chore.

My mother has lived in Greys Residential Home for 6 and a half years and over that time has received excellent care in every way from all the staff.
The home has a wonderfully friendly and caring atmosphere and operates like a 'large family'.
The staff go out of their way to meet the varied needs
of the residents, whether mobile or bed bound.
My mother has just died at the age of 101 and she was cared for very sensitively in her final days.
She passed away peacefully in the place she regarded as 'home'.
We have the highest regard for all the management and staff.

Our mum was a resident at Greys for several years, until she died peacefully a few days ago in her own bed at Greys at the age of 101.
During all that time she was looked after very well in a caring, loving, personal but professional way by the excellent day and night staff.
On several occasions,
she needed hospital admission, but the manager and staff at Greys ensured Mum could come 'home' as soon as possible, even though it meant extra work for them. Once home she was managed very well with sensible encouragement and mobilisation.


After her final illness in hospital, the manager made all arrangements quickly and efficiently to allow Mum to come home, with a special bed delivered and full medical back-up from the excellent GP and district nurses. All the day and night staff looked after her (and us the family) with excellent care, dignity and compassion and she gradually faded away and died in her sleep - a perfect departing. Thank you. The family could not have asked for more.

My cousin moved into Greys in April 2016. I have been delighted with the homely experience of the home. The food is excellent. The staff are friendly and welcoming.
Each room is fully equipped as to the resident's needs plus their own belongings are encouraged.
One of the main aspects is that the
residents are encouraged to take part in activities and in the day to day running of the home.

What made me choose Grey's initially was the lovely home from home feeling. A beautiful house with the open fire and lovely gardens. I had previously searched the Internet and telephoned with various homes. Greys Residential left the best impression. Three and a half years ago my mother, unfortunately, had to go into a care home very suddenly and we were lucky that a room had just become vacant. I recently read my mother's entry
in the new resident's book where she wrote how glad she is that her daughter found Greys for her. As I don't live in England and cannot visit very often, it is reassuring for me to know that Mum is well-cared for and that I can contact the staff at any time for their help and advice.

Greys Residential Home in Hook Heath, Woking is like a home away from home for my mum. She could no longer look after herself after my dad died, and I wanted to bring her down closer to where my family live. We looked at numerous homes when making our choice. It is very good value (you can pay 50%
more for some places, but I would not want to live there!), whereas Greys felt very homely. The staff are so caring and friendly. The food is of a very good standard, and mum's room is lovely. Always activities to get involved in, outings, food tastings etc. Highly recommend Greys to anyone looking for a small residential home, where all the staff know all the residents and look after them very well.

I have lived here for five years, during which I have been very happy. The staff are very helpful and cheerful all the time. The food is really pleasant and varied. Bed linen is changed weekly and carpets cleaned.

The care home is very clean, warm and extremely well decorated. It is a very welcoming care home and the staff are very approachable, warm and friendly who can't do enough for the residents. The food they provide is of a very high standard and they have quite a variety to choose from. As a family, we
really can't fault it and the manager is very professional and always keeps us informed of Mother's welfare. They provide a range of activities for those that want to join in.

Jo & Steve have owned and run Greys since 1998 after taking over from his parents who opened the home as a care home in 1984 but which was their private residence since Stephen was a child.


They run the home how they would like to live in it and respect individual choice and independence.


Stephen holds a BSc in Business Management and Jo is the qualified and registered CQC Nominated Individual (Dip. A NVQ4 & RMA in Health & Social Care)
