From the initial visit to look at the home to arriving with mum, all the staff have been extremely helpful and understanding of her needs. During the Covid-19 situation I cannot praise everyone enough they have been wonderful.
Our mother had been a resident at Ridgemount for 7 years and they have done a fantastic job in this time. Initially in a restorative phase for her and more recently doing an amazing effort in making her comfortable at a difficult time. Well done to the team!
Great support from all the staff. If mum or myself had a problem within the home it was dealt with. I was also given good advice regarding further care for mum.
I have enjoyed the friendliness of the manager who has always greeted me with a smile. The room and everywhere are clean at all times and there are always lots of things for people to do. My father-in-law loves being here and going out and he loves the fresh food that is always good and loves having more.
Excellent alround, very pleased with the care given to mum.
I come to visit my friend on a regular basis. Overall the day staff are helpful and friendly. The night staff are mainly ok but a few are quite off-hand and not helpful. Entertainment is good. My friend has found it quite difficult to settle and sometimes is upset by the bad behaviours of other residents. Often the home does not pass 'the sniff test'.
Thank you for taking the time to review Ridgemount and we are pleased that you rate our activities as excellent. We would like to discuss your concerns with you at a mutually convenient time if you could contact us directly. Our staff are trained to support our residents with dementia, which may present as behaviour that may appear out of character.
Mum is looked after very well by all the staff at Ridgemount. As a dementia sufferer, she can be difficult to care for but everyone is patent and kind, treating her with compassion and dignity.
I am very happy with the wasy they look after mum. She needs encouragement to do things and they have a lot of patience with her. Her room is always clean and tidy and the bed is changed often sometimes two or three times a week if needed.
The care provided is very good, but the communication with relatives is not good. A meeting for relatives was held which I was unable to attend. But despite requests, no information was sent to me. For future meetings, an email summary could be provided. My mother is still not settling well as she finds she is not kept informed as to what is going on.
Thank you for taking the time to review Ridgemount and we are pleased that you are likely to recommend our home. Please, could you contact us directly, as we would like to discuss your concerns regarding the provision of information with you to resolve them?
The care home is always clean. A lovely atmosphere. The staff are outstanding always kind and friendly. Food is excellent. Would be happy to live there myself.
I'm a frequent visitor and always appreciate the friendly welcome I receive at reception that makes a big difference. The staff are usually very helpful and caring and the activities team are incredibly patient and encouraging. I rarely hear any grumbles from the few residents I meet regularly, although there are always one or two residents whose main aim is to grumble.
My wife suffers from vascular dementia which means her once exceptional brain is now "scrambled". She understands very little and is incoherent. She has been in Ridgemount for two years and I have visited virtually daily. I have never been treated with anything but patience, care and even love.
The staff are always pleasant.
Although I feel it's expensive for the people who pay full price.
She was once again all "glammed up" and joining everyone in the dining room for meals, attending the hairdresser and most likely ready to try activities too. The staff have been excellent and have listened carefully to mum's wishes and needs and have already achieved fantastic results. I am hopeful that with physio, mum may even be mobilised.
The room is nice and the food good, although it isn't usually hot when it is served, hence I have only marked is satisfactory.
The cost is very high at now £64,000 per year. For this, I would expect to be able to mark every box as excellent but this is not always within the remit of local management.
Thank you for taking the time to review Ridgemount and we are pleased that you are extremely likely to recommend our home. I will discuss the temperature of our hot food with our kitchen staff. We are keen to understand any further improvements that can be made and would like the opportunity to discuss this with you.
Ridgemount is a comfortable, homely care home. My mother is cared for extremely well by caring staff who always have time to discuss any problems/concerns I have regarding my mothers care. I am always contacted regarding any changes to medication and informed immediately if my mother has had a fall. My mother is happy so that makes me happy. She is treated with dignity.
A very friendly home with lots of laughter. Staff can't do enough to help friends/family and residents.
When visiting most times, she is unable to communicate with me.
My cousin is currently being cared for which seems quite satisfactory, although circumstances mean that she does not fully understand the reason for care.
I wanted to let you know how much I appreciated the actions of two staff members when My aunt's GP decided she should be sent to hospital.
I was some distance away and unable to get to Ridgemount to meet the ambulance, nor to get to hospital as soon as I would have wished.
I was kept regularly informed of events during the day and one staff member insisted on following the ambulance so he could be with my aunt in A&E until I was able to get to the hospital. I'm quite sure that his kindness ate into his own time and I think he deserves special recognition.
Significant awareness was demonstrated of my aunt's situation in terms of her deafness (on top of her dementia) and how isolated that makes her and they wanted to do their best for her. Fortunately, it was not serious and my aunt was able to return to Ridgemount the following morning.
I am very grateful to both members of staff.
