Ridgemount

My cousin is currently being cared for which seems quite satisfactory, although circumstances mean that she does not fully understand the reason for care.

I wanted to let you know how much I appreciated the actions of two staff members when My aunt's GP decided she should be sent to hospital.

I was some distance away and unable to get to Ridgemount to meet the ambulance, nor to get to hospital as soon as I would have wished.

I was kept regularly informed of events during the day and one staff member insisted on following the ambulance so he could be with my aunt in A&E until I was able to get to the hospital. I'm quite sure that his kindness ate into his own time and I think he deserves special recognition.

Significant awareness was demonstrated of my aunt's situation in terms of her deafness (on top of her dementia) and how isolated that makes her and they wanted to do their best for her. Fortunately, it was not serious and my aunt was able to return to Ridgemount the following morning.

I am very grateful to both members of staff.

I am very happy with the care my mother receives, she is treated with respect and dignity by all the carers I have come into contact with.

All staff from reception through to Team Manager are always available if there is an issue. I need to discuss and there are frequent relatives' meetings if I need to bring up any issues.

The food seems of a good quality and varied.

I really enjoy the food and dining with other residents. Staff are polite and helpful. I enjoy the garden when it's not too hot.

The place is clean, the staff are friendly and seem caring. Activities could be better or more often. Not very imaginative foodwise, lacks greens and vegetables sometimes. Seems very safe and secure.

Since my friend is bed bound I can only praise the members of staff and management for her very good care and wellbeing.

My mum is safe and looked after and I cannot ask for more.

A genuinely friendly care home specialising in dementia. Staffing numbers have improved and on the whole, create a caring environment for the residents. Occasional small niggles with some things but boils down to staff numbers available at any one time. Overall Ridgemount gives care and respect during some difficult times.

My Mother has been a resident for more than 6 years. I have never had cause for concern and I am more than convinced that all her needs are met.

After easily finding a parking space, the reception is friendly and inviting. There is always a good welcome with a smiling face. My friend appears to be contented here, despite her dementia. The staff seem to be caring and respectful towards my friend as well as all the other characters here. There seems to be organised activities which my friend enjoys, especially bowls.

Mum is very happy.

My mother has been a resident for 3 years. The care staff are exactly that, the level of care they offer is high and they are always willing to help and assist. The standard of accommodation is generally good as is the food. Activities are available but can sometimes be non-exsistent when they do have activities they are excellent. Some staff need to be encouraged/trained to interact more with the residents whilst others excel and will go the extra mile to make their residents happy and stimulated. Generally very happy.

Since my mother has been in Ridgemount, the past 2 years, her care has been very satisfactory. She is treated with dignity and I feel her safety is paramount and Ridgemount have this totally covered. Sometimes communication between staff/management and ourselves could be better in that we are not advised of hospital appointments. But overall I feel her care at Ridgemount is very good.

The staff are always kind and caring and consider all their residents whims and idiosyncrasies and go to great lengths to ensure a happy and contented atmosphere prevails. During December they expanded an enormous amount of effort to ensure all residents could enjoy the Christmas spirit to the full with the many activities and entertainments provided.

Mums dementia is deteriorating. Without the wonderful staff mum and I couldn't manage. They are extremely kind, caring and hard-working. Many efforts were made to make our Christmas as special as possible. Thank you. However the biggest thank you is for the everyday love and care that they give without fail.
