When searching for a suitable home for my mother, I visited all within a 15-mile catchment of her home. My father had passed away and after 71 years my mother was reeling. From the first visit and subsequent respite, my mother was impressed. The home is very well run and staffed and small - 25 residents. Every issue has been dealt with to my satisfaction, the staff listen and have made my mother feel at home again. Social activities are excellent. The staff show dedication, compassion and treat my mother with respect. I feel thankful to them all, not forgetting the unsung heroes.

My father in law is a full-time carer for my mother in law as she is immobile and suffers from Alzheimer's along with other medical needs. He needed to undergo a hernia operation and we realised that they would both need full-time care for a few weeks after the operation. We approached Moor House to talk about respite care so that they could both go in together and my father in law could get the rest he needed whilst my mother in law could receive the care she needed. Moor House was amazing. It was like we had taken them to a family home. Nothing was too much for any of the carers, they accommodated everything that they needed and made sure they stuck to the routine that my mother in law was familiar with rather than imposing any of their regimes on her. The food is freshly cooked and very nutritious. They have activities every morning and every afternoon for the residents to engage in if they want to. Moor House comes with a high recommendation from us!
