Staff seem very friendly and caring. Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions I'm unable to review living and eating experience but my partner seems to be well cared for, he is always well presented, hair cut and usually shaved.

Shannon Court has such lovely, kind and helpful staff. My father has settled well there, which is no mean feat through these challenging months of Covid 19. The staff communicate well with us and always go the extra mile to help with anything we ask of them. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Shannon Court has worked extremely hard to keep every resident safe during the Coronovirus crisis and set up a Visitors Pod so that relatives can still visit. I have also had regular communications from Shannon Court so I know what is going on. The staff are very caring.

Drive and grounds well kept. Main house looks well maintained. Due to Covid-19, I have only seen the visiting room, not ideal but safety is the uppermost in everyone's mind so well thought out and a toilet nice touch.

Bit noisy due to work going on in the grounds and a bit difficult to hear mum even with a microphone. The staff seem friendly and approachable.

I am extremely happy with the care my mother has received at Shannon Court and especially at this challenging time. I have just visited my mother for the first time in many months and the new purpose built visiting room is amazing! A lot of care and thought has gone into the making and presentation of this room. It's very cosy and welcoming.

I have been asked to comment on the new facilities made for visiting during COVID. The organisation is extremely good, the room and facilities very good. Restricted visits to 1 hour is sad as I have 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hr journey to visit my father. Staff are very kind, friendly and helpful.

My wife stayed in Shannon Court from Feburary 2019 till her death on April 19th 2020, when she died of dementia/Alzheimer's, thank goodness not the COVID-19 virus. I would like to say the staff at Shannon Court, right from the person doing the cleaning up to the managing director were very kind and helpful. Nothing was to much trouble for them. The premises were very clean. I am very happy to recommend Shannon Court.

Since my mother's recent death, I have received condolence cards and letters from her friends commenting that she'd told them how happy she was at Shannon Court and how well she was treated. I know that she was particularly impressed with the attitude of all the staff in that it was their job to ensure she was happy and doing what she wanted. Nothing was too much trouble, no matter how busy they were, and a cross word was never spoken by any staff towards her even when she had an accident, it was just quietly and calmly dealt with. She was always treated with such kindness and respect and I am so glad my parents moved into Shannon Court, I couldn't have hoped for anywhere better.

Thank you so much for this lovely review. We try to make this home from home for every resident. With your Mother it was especially easy, she was a kind and unassuming lady.

She will be very much missed here in the home.

I love this home - I'd move in myself. The staff are warm, friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. When I've been concerned about Dad's health, they have responded quickly and efficiently, explaining to me what they have put in play and why. Residents are visibly cared for and treated well. Their individual likes and dislikes are always remembered and respect is obvious. I can't speak highly enough of all the staff. Management are organised, firm but fair.

Mum is treated with dignity and always has been.

The staff are all very caring. Mum is in the Alvernia Wing - the rooms are dark but OK. However, the wing itself is excellent. There is an internal corridor that residents can walk around. Plus 2 gardens. In the summer, the doors are opened to the gardens and the residents often sit outside.

What makes Shannon Court is the caring attitude of all the staff, from the cleaners, catering staff, admin staff, maintenance and, of course, the carers. They all play a part in making it a true "home". I feel confident in the care my Mother receives from them all and am more than happy for her to be a member of the "Shannon Court Family".

Members of Spring Park Lodge No. 5689 attended Shannon Court to present a 70-year certificate to a resident. The staff kept the surprise a secret. The morning went off extremely well. The staff were polite, courteous and very resident attentive. I can only give praise on all the staff and Shannon Court.

Matthew Bryans
Matthew BryansJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2025

My name is Matthew Bryans, and I am proud to introduce myself as the Home Manager. I began this role in November 2025, having previously worked as Deputy Manager at Shannon Court.

I have been working in the care sector for the past eight years, during which time I have developed a strong commitment to providing high-quality, person-centred care. My experience has allowed me to build meaningful relationships with residents, families, and staff, and to understand the importance of creating a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment for everyone.

Before moving into social care, I worked as a qualified ILS paramedic in South Africa. This background has given me valuable clinical knowledge, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a deep understanding of the importance of dignity, compassion, and quick decision-making in care settings.

I am passionate about what I do and believe I bring a wide range of skills to my role as Home Manager. I am committed to leading a dedicated team, continuously improving standards, and ensuring that every resident receives the respect, care, and quality of life they deserve.

I look forward to being part of this community and making a positive difference every day.
