Living on the other side of the world, we are so happy with the entire PMOK team. Everyone is so approachable, helpful, professional and incredibly supportive of my mother, who's dementia has progressed faster than we could have imagined. We have complete peace of mind knowing that our Mum is in amazing
hands, everyone from the housekeepers, careers and the adminsistration / management team are all in sync and 100% focused on my mother and all other residents. The events calendar is very well themed for key dates and they balance and structure wonderful activities across the month which are very inclusive. I truly can't speak highly enough of our expereince from the moment you walk through the door you realise its the people working at PMOK and their passion, caring nature, dedication and patience that makes this care home a very special place.

Scarbrough Court

My dad came to the Hospice on an agreed 'end of life'. Within a week or so we had the call at the hospice to come in through the night to say that his breathing had changed. However he bounced back to us due to the stimuli, care and simply feeling valued, he was no longer bed number 7, but was him as
a person. So our dilemma began. He was no longer perceived at 'end of days so could not stay there as normal, so, unfortunately he had to move on.
My brother and I searched many, many nursing homes to try and emulate his time in the hospice as we knew it worked and couldn't find one! Our quest became a little helpless and I was seriously concerned he would decline rapidly as he did in hospital before the hospice.
Then Scarbrough Court happened. I could not recommend this home more! They worked with us quickly to find out what dad needed (I will give a shout out here to a particular member of staff who made a lot happen quickly)
It's early days, but already they have made it work!
Reply from Samantha Buxton, Home Manager at Scarbrough Court

Thank you so, so much for your wonderful comments, what a rollercoaster of emotions you must been on as a family but so delighted that you found Scarbrough Court and how happy you seem to be in such a short space time and Dad too. Dad was even enjoying a small 'tipple' last week at the Scarbrough Arms. The team are great and I will ensure that I pass your comments on.Thank you again.

Devonshire Court is the most wonderful place. From the minute I contacted them about my Dad going there for some respite care we all felt so supported and life became less stressful. The staff are truly amazing, from all the wonderful care staff who always go the extra mile, to the reception, catering
and cleaning staff. Nothing has been too much trouble and their level of support with regard to sorting out meals for Dad and helping with his medicine has been amazing. One of my main things to praise is how all the staff give the residents their time and will always sit down and chat, it's lovely to see. The activities and trips on offer are also great, Dad recently went on a canal trip and had a great day. We made the decision after a few months to make Dad a permanent resident and again that has been brilliant. We are very grateful to all the staff at Devonshire Court for their wonderful care.

Unfortunately I am unable to return to my own home. Being away from "normality" at any time is not easy but has been helped enormously by the care and respectability I have received from everyone I have had contact with. Without exception every member of staff has gone beyond their line of duty to help
not only myself but my family through both the happy and difficult times. I am pleased to be settled in my "new home" and feel proud to say to people that I am a resident with nursing care at Scarbrough Court and here I intend to stay for the rest of my life. Why go to the RITZ when everything is here?!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Only there a week and therefore don't feel I can comment on management and activities which I did not use as did not see anyone. There was a fete I went to in my wheelchair and had the chance to look at gardens. Lovely view from room. Sadly tiny toilet/basin area and
was unable to wash myself as could not get my seat into the area and under the sink to get close enough to wash. Plenty of lovely food (too much banana which sadly I cannot eat). Staff were very accommodating for special requests re food.

My mum has been a resident at Prince Michael of Kent Court for nearly 2 years. She is relaxed and happy there and has been right from the very first day. She has a reputation in the home for being a 'bit of a ''dancing queen' as she absolutely can't stop herself from dancing whenever she hears music.
My mum is loving life again since being there! She enjoys all the various activities on offer and is usually first in line to participate in everything. It's so lovely to see her enjoying life again. I cannot leave a review without mentioning the amazing staff that work at the home. They are so lovely and treat the residents with such care and respect. They know each resident individually and tailor their support accordingly. I really couldn't ask for anything more. I feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful home for my mum to live in. I am relaxed in knowing how well she is cared for there and how happy she is.

I wanted to send my heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff at Barford Court. As a family, we were apprehensive about the prospect of Dad needing additional care. But from the moment we saw BC, it became our home too. My young children called it "Pop's Hotel" - they could see that it was a haven
for him. As Dad's health declined and we knew the end was near, you opened your home and your hearts to us even more. The last four days of Dad's life was spent by his bedside: reminiscing, listening to music, crying and laughing. We were able to surround him with the love he had so selflessly shown us all our lives. You gave the five of us, the space and freedom to be with him however we needed to be. EVERY member of staff here showed us such care, reassurance and guidance. Most importantly, we could see how much Dad meant to you all. You cared for Dad with dignity and love. THANK YOU
Reply from Gavin Kingham, Registered Home Manager at Barford Court

Thank you very much for your beautiful words and it really was an honour to care for dad and you as a family. We strive to make families feel supported and our residents feel valued, it is reassuring to hear our team are encompassing our values of being kind, supported and trusted. The day my brother and I first walked into reception, we were taken aback by the cheerful atmosphere that greeted us. More akin to a hotel lobby than a retirement home, the place was bustling with life - friendly staff, sunshine streaming through the windows, views of the gardens, appetising menus -
we knew instantly our 90 year old Dad would like it here.
Rendered immobile by secondary bone cancer, the room was well-equipped for Dad's needs. With a big window overlooking the lawn, he also had use of a mobile recliner which gave him the freedom to sit outside, eat in the dining room or socialise in the bar area if he wanted to.
During his four month stay at Prince George, our Dad was treated with an exceptional level of love, care and respect by a dedicated team of nurses, carers and staff who took time to engage with him, laugh with him, cherish and comfort him through the last stage of his life. We will never forget and cannot thank everyone enough for that.

Zetland Court have gone above and beyond to help my mother settle in at Red Admiral View their specialist dementia unit. She has a gluten allergy and they have bought special food to encourage her to eat and spent a lot of individual time with her speaking and supporting her to eat. She has now put
on 7lbs in weight which is amazing. They include all the residents in events and where ever possible each resident is brought into the day room so they can engage and be included in all the days activities. The gardens are beautiful and my Mum can be taken out in her wheelchair which is lovely. She has also been taken out in the minibus to the beach to have an ice cream which she really enjoyed.
All the staff are so friendly and helpful and engage with the residents on an individual basis and I have no hesitation in recommending this home to any prospective residents and families.

My mum has been a resident in Red Admiral View - the specialist dementia home at Zetland for a few years now. All the residents are treated with respect and care, helped with their specific needs and supported as individuals. Mum is always nicely dressed, with her hair done, nails often painted and
still looks like my mum. She and all the residents are stimulated through a whole variety of entertainment and activities - I feel as though every time I visit there are new things on the wall, new entertainers, new areas and colours. The manager is extremely dedicated and ensures that it feels like the residents home with meals and bedtimes etc all flexible to the day and the individuals needs. Her room and bathroom are always clean and tidy, with lots of pictures up. Of course it's sad to see mum poorly but I can see that she feels relaxed and cared for, that she is warm, safe and so much better off than when we were struggling to care for her at home. Thank you xx

Mum has lived at the care home for just over 18months as a dementia patient, the home does an excellent job of looking after her, keeping her clean and entertained, her room is perfect, the staff interact well with all the patients and are friendly to visitors, the individual wings have everything the
guests need, and the central communal area is perfect for entertainment and special events.

Excellent constant professional care for our Mam. All the staff are lovely, caring and work so hard. The home itself is very clean, comfortable and airy. The rooms are a good size compared to other homes we liked at. We feel very lucky to have our Mam in Scarborough Court. Thank you for everything

I could not recommend Scarborough Court highly enough, all staff have treat my grandma like a family member with so much compassion and care from day one. The care provided is excellent and very efficient, all members of staff are extremely knowledgeable and friendly at all times and always making the
time to answer any questions. The facilities are exceptional with plenty of activities/events provided to cater for all residents and family members to partake and enjoy. I could not ask for a better place for my grandma to call home!

My mam has been in Scarborough Court for a year now. She really didn't want to be there at first but they have gradually won her over. The staff are so kind and patient with her, even when she is being stroppy and rude ! My brother and I couldn't be happier with her care, all the staff are so friendly
with us and nothing is ever a problem to them. I would 100% recommend this home to anyone.

My grandmother has been a part of Scarbrough Court for over 5 years now, and the team are fantastic with her. It's always lovely to feel welcomed when visiting, and over the years getting to know some of the staff. They all work so unbelievably hard, and I'm very grateful to know she's in safe hands

My mam came to live here after suffering a stroke in January. I could really not recommend enough the staff and the care provided by Scarbrough Court. Not only to the care they are providing with my mam, but the love and care for all of us as a family. I really would say they create a home from home,
the cleanliness, the food everything really is 5 star. We appreciate the support of all the staff within the home.
