My mother has transitioned so well to Albert Edward. Staff are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble to meet her needs. There are many activities available of which my mothers attends, and is given a weekly schedule of all available which is great . The food is of excellent quality. My Mother has
been able to make several new friends of the same capacity ,which has been a great comfort to the family as she was recently widowed. The room is light and bright with a beautiful outlook.

My dad (Derek)has been at Scarbrough Court for 8 months now. It is a beautifully laid out home with excellent caring staff. My father was previously in a hospice before coming here in July 2025. The home is superbly run with great facilities and a home from home feel. The staff are skilled, patient
and very attentive. My dad realises he is in a lovely place. My sister and I looked at many homes before choosing this one and we are so pleased we did. Can't rate it highly enough

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother moved into this home because of worsening dementia and related safety issues. I had cared for her for 13 years so it was a difficult although necessary decision. From the application process I felt supported by Donna, and for the last year I have been so grateful to all the unit staff for
their care of my mother in a lovely environment. Day one we were met by team leader Jamie who was instantly reassuring that she could go to bed, get up when she wanted to, have food at mealtimes or not, have sandwiches/snacks when wanted as at home. I have been happy to experience that this home from home living principle promise, is a reality, and offered alongside timely support with activities of daily living. I have also witnessed such patience with the challenging care of dementia patients there. Sara (reception plus!) and Theresa manager are both efficient and have a relaxed caring can do team approach. These combined skills and attitudes results in the 5 star reviews which I endorse.

Mother was at Zetland Court for some 3 years, a lovely old building in delightful grounds with farthest part looking through a chine to the sea. Care was excellent, all very kind and considerate up to the end. Although not one for organised 'fun' she enjoyed the classical music performances, poetry
and the regular resident's meetings with the very charming and capable manager. She also enjoyed being able to walk in the gardens and down through the woods to the sea view. Mealtimes were always enjoyed in the dining room, albeit the food was at times uninteresting, nevertheless another change of scenery and company! No hesitation in highly recommending. Thank you to all staff and volunteers.

Prince George Duke of Kent Court

from Joseph L (Son of Resident) published on 4 March 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
From the moment I first came into Prince George I knew this was the place I wanted my mother to stay in and my instincts were absolutely correct. The place had a very positive atmosphere and from the outset the staff were friendly and caring. The layout of the home is excellent with the residents rooms
looking out onto the gardens. The communal rooms are large and well-equiped.

One of the most outstanding things about the home along with the level of care and nursing to the residents is the quality of activities and entertainment. There always seems to be something going on and trips out, for those feeling up to an excursion. Relatives and friends are always welcomed and encouraged to come along and enjoy the entertainments with the residents.

My mother seems very happy there and has made some friends so she has company. I feel very secure in the knowledge that she is well cared for, happy and safe.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Over the last couple of years mum has had respite care for a period of months at two care homes, one like a five star hotel with less than helpful staff and one with a less impressive appearance but lovely helpful staff. Devonshire Court is the best of both worlds.
The in depth initial assessment
by Claire and Jenny was very professional and allayed any of mums fears and worries. Upon arriving at the home everyone went out of their way to make mum feel at home and have continued to do so. Special mention to Michelle and Ian who oversaw mums transition from temporary to permanent residence.
I can recommend Devonshire Court without reservation.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My brother recently spent his final months in the Prince George Duke of Kent Court RMBI home.
I can't praise the home highly enough. The standard of care and quality of nursing staff has been excellent. The staff are attentive and welcoming. They seemed to switch on very early to my brother's character
and how best to look after him.
The rooms, corridors, dining and lounge areas are all light, airy and welcoming. The staff keep the residents interested with a variety of activities. They get a therapeutic effect from the home's pets. They can practice crafts and enjoy the garden. There are musical entertainments in the lounge.
The admin team run the home and catering like clockwork. The nursing team always found time to explain the latest twists and turns in my brother's health and care regime. They were extremely supportive in helping me pick my way through the maze of the local government and NHS bureaucracy.
I could not have asked for better service during a difficult period.

My Dad has now been at Devonshire Court for 10 months and it was a huge decision to admit him there for respite care but he was so poorly we needed their help. From the moment I met them and we then had the initial assessment done the whole family has felt so supported. Dad has been so well cared for
that he is now a permanent resident. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff and they are always smiling and caring. They have taken dad to hospital appointments that I couldn't make, on day trips and even shopping. The most important thing to me has been how much they've taken an interest in Dad and will always spend time to sit down and chat with him. I would thoroughly recommend Devonshire Court to anyone.

My mother was previously in a residential home in Suffolk, over 100 miles away from us. My wife and I spent three months researching and visiting care homes closer to home, seeing around twelve in total. Prince Michael of Kent Court was one of the first we visited and it always stayed with us because
of how clean, calm and well-run it felt. Its multi-wing layout is quite unique and, for us, an essential feature.

It was only after my mother moved in that we fully appreciated how exceptional the care is. Everyone - from cleaners and laundry staff to the housekeeper - takes time to speak to her and make her feel at home. The care leads and front desk staff are always helpful and happy to pass on messages or put us through to her. The carers are outstanding: my mum is exceptionally well looked after, always clean, well dressed and very well fed. It has been a huge relief to know she is safe, comfortable and genuinely cared for. Thank you!

Reply from Rosalie Courtney, Business Relationship Manager at Prince Michael of Kent CourtThank you for such a lovely review of our home and the kind and complimentary words about our staff team. My mum moved in to Cornwallis in October 2024,nothing is perfect but the care received was so kind. She was not someone who would join in the activities but the activities lady would go spend time with my mum just watch tv and have a cuppa with her.Every member of staff knew my mums name and if they
wondered past mums room they would always say hello to her.As my mums daughter I spent a lot of time visiting mum she seemed happy and content here unfortunately she did have dementia.
My mum recently passed away I spent most of her last week with her and the staff not only looked after mum they looked after me with lots of tea.
The respect that was given to my mum as she left Cornwallis will always stay in my heart forever. The staff that were here for me and my family you know who you are and I can't thank them enough.

Devonshire Court has the most caring and thoughtful staff I have ever met..Not just the carers but everyone from Admin, activity co-ordinators, kitchen staff, cleaners and volunteers. They all go the extra mile, above and beyond. Both my parents have been given the upmost care over the last few

My Mother-In-Law was a resident for 2 1/2 years. She started as an able wheelchair user through to her death, Nov 25. Throughout her stay, she was only ever met with kindness and care (Even if she didn't always appreciate it!). The last 6 months were very difficult for her, but the staff were endlessly
patient and continuously encouraging. When she became very poorly, the staff made a great effort to keep her comfortable and her spirits up. The activity coordinators were particularly lovely. I could not fault the care and compassion that she, and we, were shown, proving that it's not the decor that's important, but the people that work there, and they are a fantastic team!

Dad moved to Cadogan Court in Sept 2025 and we have been happy from the outset. The environment is very pleasant and welcoming. Staff are courteous and kind. As a family we have been able to participate in activities at the home and the build up to Christmas was very special. We have peace of mind knowing
Dad is somewhere safe, warm and caring.

Barford Court

Mum has navigated some difficulties in her health over recent weeks and the staff at Barford Court have been outstanding in their care and the careful way they followed events, ensured she received the right anti-biotics and followed through with all the required care to keep her comfortable. The team
then followed up with post treatment care and mum is back to her enthusiastic self, in good humour - supported by follow up reports from the GP to confirm her recovery. All this and many other details contribute to her feeling safe and her family appreciating how carefully and diligently the staff have been taking care of her. Their kindness and loving humour are so valuable. Thank you also to the kitchen and maintenance staff who help her when the TV goes wrong and make her salads when she requests them. It is a delight to see her enjoy being with the staff and to be responded to by the managers and carers so promptly and courteously. Thank you all - my sister and I are so grateful.
Reply from Gavin Kingham, Registered Home Manager at Barford CourtThank you so much for taking the time to share your very kind and thoughtful feedback. It truly means a great deal to us to hear how positively you and your sister feel about the care your mum has received at Barford Court.
The team will be very pleased to hear that their careful monitoring, coordination with the GP, and follow-up care helped support her recovery and comfort. Ensuring our residents feel safe, well cared for, and listened to is always our priority.
Your kind words about the warmth, humour, and attentiveness of the staff will be shared with everyone, including our kitchen and maintenance teams, who will be especially pleased to know their help and small gestures have made such a difference to your mum's daily life.
It is a pleasure to care for her, and we are grateful for the trust you place in us. Thank you again for your appreciation-it is messages like yours that encourage and motivate our team. Thank you again.
