Scarborough Court is excellent. The whole ambiance is great. The lounges are spacious and light. The staff are friendly and vary caring. My mother's room is quite large, light and cosy. Nothing is a problem for the management to deal with. Staff are helpful and obliging too. Parking is easy and the
dining room is large with lots of windows. Music generally is played whilst dining. Choice of food is good and tasty. Very pleased my mother is here, so is she.
Reply from Samantha Buxton, Home Manager at Scarbrough CourtThank you so much for your lovely review, your comments are greatly appreciated and I will ensure that they are shared with the team. Our family is incredibly grateful for the outstanding care my granddad received during his recent two-week respite stay. From the moment he arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable, safe, and right at home.
The standard of care was excellent, and the peace of mind it
gave our family was priceless. It is clear that the team here truly cares about their residents. We highly recommend their respite services to any family looking for a supportive and welcoming environment for their loved one.

My Aunt joined Albert Edward in October 2026 and feels like she is in a family. The staff are amazing, responsive to any questions I might have and it is a pleasure to visit her in such a calm and welcoming environment. The gardens are beautiful as is the decor inside. There are many quiet areas to
have a coffee and a catch up as well as comfortable communal spaces where residents can mingle. She has particularly enjoyed the activities program which is varied and there is something on twice a day. I would highly recommend to anyone.

A very good home with hard working, caring and friendly staff. Better communication between carers and relatives would be helpful when requesting things on behalf of loved ones as often requests get overlooked and you have to ask a couple of times to get things actioned.

Prince Philip is like a 5-star all-inclusive hotel - the accommodation, facilities, activities, care and services are excellent. The hardworking staff are always cheerful and friendly and have good engagement with residents and their visitors. If I or my husband ever require care, we would love to come
here.

My mum has been in Prince Edward Duke of kent court for 6 years and the care she has received is excellent. Mum is very happy there and enjoys all in house activities. She often tells me that she is happy there and has a very good relaintionship with all staff.

She is supported in our Dementia House and receives excellent care. Thank you for your review.

My parents moved in during February of this year & settled in to life in Porthcawl. Immediately from the point of moving in, the staff have worked hard to welcome & accommodate my parents' needs, in particular their desire to share sleeping arrangements. Having been married for nearly 70 years, they
wanted to maintain this situation. Despite the additional challenges this created for the staff they supported us to keep this status quo. The standard of care, friendliness, food and cleanliness have been excellent. Additionally, they have gently encouraged my parents to socialise during the regular activities.
Sadly, my father passed away in April, however, since then all members of staff have really rallied around my mother, which gives comfort that she is being well looked after. A member of the nursing team even attended my father's funeral service. Whilst this point isn't directly related to the standard of care, it is an indicator of the environment the Care Home creates.

My 90 yr old mum, with advanced dementia came to Shannon Court after a stay in hospital. She was resident for a year.
I can't speak highly enough of all the staff and the manager Matthew, who work together to create a calm, professional, friendly environment.
I was welcomed and made to feel at home
too ... I enjoyed going in !
But when a loved one is ill and visits are tough, there are also welcoming spaces to step back and take a moment, too ...so thoughtfully organised.
Every aspect of my mum's care was superlative and she always said how safe she felt and happy to be there.
I miss the lovely team at Shannon Court and will always be grateful for everything they did for my mother.
Reply from Matthew Bryans, Home Manager at Shannon CourtDear Tania,
Thank you so much for your heartfelt and generous review.
It was a privilege to care for your mother during her time with us, and we are deeply touched by your kind words about our team here at Shannon Court. Providing a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment for both our residents and their families is at the heart of everything we do, so it means a great deal to know that both you and your mother felt so well supported.
Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience. Your words will be shared with the entire team, who will be delighted to know the positive impact they had on your mum during her time at Shannon Court. We will always remember your family fondly and wish you all the very best.

This is an absolutely fantastic care home. We were in desperate need of some urgent respite for my 90yr old father when my mother went in to hospital. Julie, Michelle and the rest of the team could not have been more helpful at a time of high stress for the family.
My mother has since come out of hospital
and now both parents plan to become permanent residents, the care is that good.
The rooms are lovely as are the facilities. This is a superb care home and the staff are its best asset. Thank you for your help, and we rest easy knowing that our folks are in the best hands.

Overall excellent. My only criticism is contacting staff at night when dropping my father off - sometimes we have to wait 5-10 minutes before a staff member comes to open the door. Also the phone is often not answered at night.
Reply from Abigail Cranston, Home Manager at Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh CourtThank you for a lovely review of our home, we appreciate your feedback, it truly means a lot . Exceptionally well run establishment. All staff are professional, kind and caring and go above and beyond. Clinical care nursing manager greeted my husband on arrival with care and dignity and made sure he was settled in nicely. His organisational skills are to be commended as the move from hospital
to Scarborough Court went to ease and care.
Reply from Samantha Buxton, Home Manager at Scarbrough CourtThank you so much for your lovely comments and feedback, it can be a daunting experience for both residents and their families moving into a care home, so to hear that everything went so smoothly is great. Mum has been a resident in Scarborough Court for 8 months and she is cared for by truly professional staff who give her the care and personal attention she requires.
The general areas in the home and mums room are clean well maintained.
The residents have excellent selection of activities for
them to participate in should they choose.
There is a wide and varied menu on offer which gives mum plenty of choice at meal times which is of good quality. She likes that she is offered fruit with her mid morning refreshment .
I am kept updated with any changes in mum and have access to the staff should I wish to discuss further details with them.
Scarborough Court provided a safe and secure environment for mum and I am grateful that she is in safe hands.
Reply from Samantha Buxton, Home Manager at Scarbrough CourtThank you so much for your wonderful comments and feedback, I am so pleased to hear that both Mum and yourself are very happy with the care and support that Mum receives and generally being happy with everything that Scarbrough Court provides. My Mum was a resident for nearly 2 years, initially in Residential and then she moved to Evergreen, the Dementia wing. She arrived having to be transported everywhere by wheelchair but with encouragement from staff became able to walk independently with the aid of a walker.
Both in Residential and
Evergreen Nursing and Care Staff treated Mum with tremendous care, kindness and dignity. All staff were very approachable and happy to talk to me if I had any concerns.
The Administrative staff on the front desk were welcoming and also happy to help with any queries too.
Mum enjoyed, in particular, the music activities and trips out that the wonderful Activity team organised.
I found the home to be welcoming and very well run from top to bottom.
