Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh Court

I am a retired Ambulance driver and have been too and seen many care homes, most I wouldn't want to leave my dog there let alone my nearest and dearest. Two years ago my wife developed a rare condition called Corticobasal Degeneration and I have been her 24/7 carer since then. I needed a little respite for a while just to recharge my body and perhaps do a few jobs at home that I couldn't do whilst looking after my wife. I decided to look for a care home for her, but knowing what some homes are like I was quite worried. I started looking around and found the Prince Phillip Duke of Edinburgh Court care home in Sindlesham a fairly new home and not far from where I live. I wanted a home that would give her the same quality of care I was giving her at home. I went and had a look around and was very impressed. I Booked my wife in for one month as they even had a deal of 4 weeks for the price of 3. The care and attention they gave her was amazing and her room with en suite shower and toilet was always kept spotless. The staff were very caring and helpful, nothing seemed too much. My wife was kept clean and tidy at all times, and she was put in clean clothes every day, while what she wore yesterday went into the wash. Would I recommend Prince Phillip Duke of Edinburgh Court, absolutely without a doubt, one of the best care homes I have been too and seen. I would even leave my dog there if I had one.

The staff are all very caring and friendly and put our mum at ease. She was nervous about going for respite care, but they all treated her with kindness and respect and made her feel very welcomed. She said the food was good and she was very happy there. The staff were also very helpful to me and my sisters.

With a few favourite items from home, Prince Philip Court was his new home for eight weeks; the food was good, he had a hair cut, and was looked after by a local doctor. The staff encouraged him to walk everyday, helped accommodate a new power chair and his new found independence.

Our family is incredibly grateful for the outstanding care my granddad received during his recent two-week respite stay. From the moment he arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable, safe, and right at home.

The standard of care was excellent, and the peace of mind it gave our family was priceless. It is clear that the team here truly cares about their residents. We highly recommend their respite services to any family looking for a supportive and welcoming environment for their loved one.

Prince Philip is like a 5-star all-inclusive hotel - the accommodation, facilities, activities, care and services are excellent. The hardworking staff are always cheerful and friendly and have good engagement with residents and their visitors. If I or my husband ever require care, we would love to come here.

Being a new resident the staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful and caring in the process of getting to know me. The activities programme is a highlight and most enjoyable.

As a relative I am immenseley pleased with the care provided. There is no doubt that care home is an example of how are should be provided in the wider community.

Overall excellent. My only criticism is contacting staff at night when dropping my father off - sometimes we have to wait 5-10 minutes before a staff member comes to open the door. Also the phone is often not answered at night.

Staff are genuinely caring, supportive and friendly. Rooms and communal spaces are kept clean and tidy, and can be personalised. Ok food could be improved at some meals, e.g. fresh juice for breakfast. Fruit is available but needs to be asked for. Nurses are helpful and communicate/update well. Transport is arranged for medical appointments and social events. Staff will arrange activities as requested.

This is a safe and well-run home with excellent modern facilities. The staff communicate well with us regarding Mum's ongoing care and health. The staff, many of whom have been here for many years, keep Mum active and engaged. The home hosts many entertainers and outside activity groups to suit the residents. It's always a pleasure to visit Mum, and the friendly staff always have a warm welcome.

Whilst all aspects of the Home are of the highest standard, the standout impression when visiting is the almost relentless positivity and friendliness of all staff towards the residents and their visitors. This stems from the Home Manager and extends through all carers and support staff. I could not be more happy and grateful that Mum is in their care.

My husband is happy in this home having been unhappy in a previous one. Carers seem to have more time for individual care and spend time with the residents. Rooms are clean and comfortable and can be personalised as desired. Each bedroom has a full wetroom also. Transport and a carer are arranged for medical appointments. Staff will endeavour to arrange activities as requested by residents. 24/7 nurses offer individual support and updates on medical issues. Food and drink could be improved to offer more fresh options. I wonder about the nutritional value.

My mother was given excellent care throughout her stay. Visited many homes prior to my mum moving in and never regretted the decision. All staff are exemplary in their work and care.

My mom has been a resident for 16 months and has dementia. From the first day, Mum has felt safe and comfortable in the home and in all that time she has always said how kind and friendly the carers are and how much she enjoys her surroundings, her room, the bright and nicely furnished public rooms and the lovely gardens. I can certainly bear this out as I visit most days and Mum and I have both formed great relationships with staff, other residents and relatives. The activity managers are full of energy and creative ideas and are unfailingly kind and responsive. As Mum's needs increase, every effort is made to meet them.

Outstanding in every way, especially all the staff. The food still needs improvement!

I am impressed by all aspects of care given to my mother. The facilities are very good and all staff show a caring and friendly manner. The activities are exceptionally good and very original; a lot of thought has obviously gone into them and I do enjoy the activities newsletter which keeps us in touch and aware of what is going on day to day. The clinical care shown has been to an exceptionally high standard. My family are delighted with the care given at Prince Philip.

My wife is very happy at this home which makes it easier for my sons and myself to accept what is happening. She enjoys the friendship and above all the level of care that seems to go the extra mile, in that they deal with her problems yet leave her dignity intact.

Amazing staff! They are so kind and caring, and their love for the residents shines through; in fact, we class them as extended family. The care is exceptional, and the activities are absolutely amazing. We are always kept informed of any health issues. Most of all, Mum and Dad are very, very happy here and have made lots of new friends with the other residents. I have total peace of mind with Mum and Dad being in such a wonderful place. Such a big thank you to everyone at Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh Court.

I visit my mum twice a week and have done for over a year. The staff could not be more helpful and friendly, nothing is ever too much trouble, and they all have such lovely things to say about Mum and the things that she has been doing. The care that Mum receives is amazing; she is regularly checked on and always with such care and attention. The home itself is looking a little tired now, but not long till they move into the new building, which I was able to visit last week and looks amazing. Such consideration of needs has been taken into account when planning and designing the new build. Mum is very much looking forward to moving next month.

Since my father moved into Lord Harris Court nearly four months ago I have been really impressed by the team of staff who work there. The carers and other members of staff are always cheerful and make me welcome whenever I visit. Although they are very busy, they always take time to update me on any changes or developments, and they are very understanding and patient in answering any questions I may have. I really appreciate the dedication shown by the staff and I am very grateful for the way in which they have helped my father to settle in and for all they do to look after him and the other residents.
