Connaught Court is an exceptional care facility. The whole ethos of the place is outstanding, every member of staff is professional, pleasant and very respectful of the people they care for and their family and friends.

I have been very pleased with the care and support given to my aunt on Knavesmire throughout her three years living there. The staff are thorough and attentive, and nothing is ever too much trouble. My aunt is most content living at Connaught Court, and I am happy and reassured that she is well cared for.

The are given to my mother was caring, kind, competent and dignified. The management team were extremely supportive and made the transition from hospital much smoother for us than we expected. The care staff made my mother so welcome and catered to her every need and when her health began to fail they did everything they could to keep her comfortable right up to the end of her life for which we will always be grateful.

The care my father received was simply excellent . He was treated with compassion throughout. His carers took the time to know the man he was and we, his family and friends, were always warmly welcomed into his home. We are so pleased that we found Connaught Court, they supported and cared for our whole family and we can never thank them enough.

My Father, Elwyn Gwynne passed away in Connaught Court on Tuesday the 19th August 2025. He had been Ill for about three and a half months and the care coupled with compassion that he received was second to none. He was a long term resident who had been in Connaught Court for ten and a half years and he considered many of the team of caregivers as his extended family. He died at the age of 101 after living a long and happy life. Leaving three sons, many grand children and even a great grandson all of whom have nothing but praise for the wonderful people at Connaught Court. He received his certificate for 50 years of full and active service to Freemasonry in 2015 and he was very proud to have been Master of Linton Lodge 9444 when he was 90, presiding over a very full calendar.

Please feel free to contact me if you would like an advocate for this wonderful Masonic retirement home.

My mother lived in Connaught Court until her death on 1st May 2025. During that time she was very well cared for. She participated in activities, enjoyed her meals and experienced loving care from the wonderful staff. After her death, the staff were very sensitive and caring towards my sister and myself.

A wonderful care home. The staff are outstanding. My mother moved in after being discharged from hospital. She was too poorly to return to her previous lovely care home as she needed nursing care. Sadly, she was only in Connaught Court for 3 weeks before she died. The kindness and compassion shown to Mum (and to us) made a difficult time easier to handle. I can't praise everyone enough. We're sorry her time there was so short, but it was such a comfort to know she was receiving the very best care and attention right up to the end. Thank you.

The staff and facilities are second to none. The residents are treated with care and respect. Each staff member are friendly and caring. I cannot speak highly enough of Connaught Court and neither can my aunt who is a resident. The activities are amazing and the whole team work so hard to facilitate these. Mum-in-law joined during the difficult COVID period over four years ago and has spent time in different areas. The staff have always been friendly and welcoming, they spend time sitting, talking and doing activities with residents. Mum particularly enjoys music and sing-alongs. Her bedroom and bathroom are always well-kept and clean. Thanks to the team for all you do to care for the residents with respect and compassion. This has truly been evident this last couple of weeks whilst Mum has been poorly.

Overall Experience
Mum (now 95) has been in Connaught Court since February 2022 and since then we've had nothing but fantastic service. The whole team are dedicated and thorough treating mum sensitively and with dignity - nothing seems to be too much trouble. Mum gets confused quite easily but the staff are always on hand to reassure her and us.
The food is top notch - mum especially likes the puddings.

As mum is very frail physically as well, she's had a few falls. Without fail, I always get a phone call from the care team and this is very reassuring. We visit regularly and have been told by the staff to treat Connaught Court as our own home - i.e. feel free to use the facilities if you're there. The lounge and conservatory are very pleasant indeed, the loos are always clean and we can always find somewhere nice to have a coffee and eat our sandwiches whenever we call.

My mother was a reluctant resident at Connaught Court when she first arrived but the wonderful care and encouragement that she received has her happily accepting help and enjoying the company of carers, nurses and all staff.

She spent time on all wards - residential, dementia and nursing and we were always more grateful for the caring way everyone treated her at all times. Thank you.

It has been so reassuring to see how caring, professional and joyful the staff are at Connaught Court. On the nursing wing, Mum was made to feel so welcome from day one, and their care extended seamlessly to family and friends visiting. Walking around the home and its grounds, you come across resident after resident being cared for respectfully, patiently - precisely in the way you might hope your loved one would be. I am very grateful to the management, the staff and even the other residents at Connaught Court for making mum feel so welcome here.

It is not an easy decision to leave your home and come into full residential care. I have been living at Connaught Court for nine months now and I am very grateful to be here. I feel secure, the care in excellent, the food is good and the staff are dedicated to looking after the residents, and I am not alone. In January, I will be 90 years old and having lived on my own for 40 years I do not regret my decision.

My overall experience is good, its care and support are always on call. The staff are very caring, committed and cheerful. The management is very good and I am pleased with my room, which is cleaned daily.
I enjoy the activities each week Mondays to Fridays, always interesting. The members of staff involved are excellent at their job.
I always feel safe and secure in the care home.
As for value for money, the care 24 hours per day 7 days a week is excellent, and outstanding areas such as bedrooms, restaurant and lounge and library.

Excellent laundry service. I would highly recommend it.

Connaught Court has been my auntie's home for nearly 7 years now, and I cannot praise the place highly enough. The rooms are excellent - large and all with ensuite facilities - and there are additional communal bathrooms with aids for people who need assistance getting in and out. The communal areas are beautiful and the whole place is immaculately clean. The gardens are outstanding. The food is excellent with plenty of different choices to cater to various tastes. The place, despite its relatively large size, feels very homely and not at all like an institution. This is thanks to the brilliant dedicated staff who give Connaught Court a real family feeling. I have worked in residential care homes myself in the past and Connaught Court stands head and shoulders over all of them. People understandably often fear moving into residential care but I can honestly say that I would quite happily move into Connaught Court when the time came and my elderly parents feel exactly the same.
