My mother-in-law moved to Connaught Court just before Christmas, after the closure of her previous care home. She has very advanced dementia. Staff within Ebor Unit have been so very compassionate. The care is just that; genuine care, with my mother-in-law's needs at the heart of every decision that
they make for her. I cannot thank the staff enough for their genuine kindness and their unstinting (and often unnoticed) hard work. The atmosphere within the whole home is lovely.

My late wife and I came into the home on the 4th of August 2022. My late wife into nursing care and me into residential care, sadly she passed away on the 8th of September 2022. The staff in every aspect were remarkable and the attention to detail was excellent. I can only say many thanks to every staff
member for all the excellent support they have given me. The activity team are always available for any ideas, the activity program is excellent and very stimulating. All in all a 5-star home, my home.

Mum has been a resident in the Kindersuite unit for six months. She is extremely settled and thinks of the staff and residents as her friends, which is very heartwarming for me. The activity staff create amazing activities for the residents, and Mum takes part in a lot of them - especially the music
ones. The admin staff and catering are all so welcoming, and I love the big smiles that greet me when I arrive for a visit. I am always updated about Mum - both her health, well-being and contentment are so important to each staff member. Thank you, everyone.

The staff at the home could not be more helpful. There is a great atmosphere at the home. Everything appears very well maintained with high standards of cleanliness and a good laundry service. Our 88-year-old mother has felt at home here, within her first two weeks of residence. Nothing is too much
trouble for the enthusiastic staff, a great entertainment schedule for residents and family.

A fall in March 2023 resulted in a total loss of mobility and privately organised care arrangements proved less than adequate. Facilities provided at Connaught Court proved to be the answer and I became a resident in early June 2023 and my wife followed a week later The care and comfort afforded by

For my mother, this was home. It's a wonderfully positive and happy environment for Mum during her terminal illness. She enjoyed the gardening club, sing-a-long, the King's Coronation, watching movies in the lounge cinema and eating in the lovely, bright dining room. Her care was superb, with the nurses
and staff treating her with huge respect and kindness. This was a wonderful place for our whole family to spend quality time with her. A special place. Thank you.

My mother became, very suddenly, very ill in autumn 2018: a deeply distressing time. My brother and I were so relieved with how her admission to Connaught Court Care Home was eased speedily and kindly. She was diagnosed with multiple dementias but then enjoyed time in residential care before her deterioration
led - kindly and speedily - to specialist care. The pandemic brought a lot of grief and isolation but staff always responded with care and attention to my concerns.

Never in my life have I seen worse communication, basic care is truly lacking, may be good at residential care, nurse side is scary. Not enough staff to even feed residents, meetings with the manager postponed on many occasions, staff promising to call back with answers to questions (never do). So horrified
at the lack of basic care like brushing of teeth or even washing of hair, been zero. Stay away from this home if your loved one is in need of nursing care.
My dad is on a soft diet and was left a burger on the side, he's unable to even lift it, very rude nurse in charge, refusing to call a doctor. Absolutely awful.

I came into Connaught Court Care Home as a respite resident for two weeks in mid-June.
I found the staff very welcoming and attentive to my needs from the moment I arrived.
My room was very clean and had everything I needed for my short stay.
Being in a wheelchair I found it very easy to propel myself
around the corridors and I was also able to get out into the lovely gardens and take in the tranquillity of my surroundings.
I had a very enjoyable stay and if I find myself in similar circumstances again I wouldn't hesitate in going back.

My father moved to Connaught Court Care Home in June 2022 and has never looked back, at the age of 90 he is going from strength to strength and is receiving exemplary care and attention from highly skilled staff. Connaught Court oozes calmness and serenity from the minute you enter the reception area,
this coupled with an extremely organised and well-run home and welcoming staff gives it a very special quality that far surpasses any other care home I’ve visited previously. I can’t emphasise enough that Connaught Court is at the highest level in every area possible and rather than dread my visits (as I did previously in other care homes) I look forward to seeing my father looking well and receiving the best care possible. Thank you to all the staff involved in caring for my precious father, we fully appreciate your dedication and time.

The whole atmosphere at Connaught Court is the main reason I am very content with the care that Dad receives. The staff are amazing with Dad and also with Mum on her visiting days. They always send photos of Dad so I can show Mum. All in all, a super friendly yet such professional place.

My mother moved into Connaught at the start of January. We had moved from South-East and transferred her, the process was very well managed despite COVID restrictions in place, she settled in well, in fact, the use of an indoor pod for visiting was excellent and welcome departure from visiting in the
gazebo in a car park. She eats well and the menu is varied. As restrictions are eased more activities have started, she joins in them all and loves the gardens and the friendly staff.

My mother was admitted to Connaught Court last year, initially for respite care following severe deterioration in her physical and mental health and due to a breakdown in her care at home. She became a permanent resident in December. The difference just in ten months is remarkable. She looks wonderful
and her health has improved tremendously. Although retired now, I worked in the private care sector for forty plus years and this is one of the best! Truly totally holistic care and support.

Marinda Aydinalp

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2014

Marinda Aydinalp joined Connaught Court as Deputy Home Manager in June 2014. In February 2022, she was promoted to Home Manager.


Marinda demonstrates clear vision, passion and dedication for the residents in her care. She played a significant part in Connaught Court being rated ‘Outstanding’ by CQC in 2023.


Marinda leads a highly experienced and dedicated team. She inspires them by being a role model in both her leadership and her passion for delivering the best care for residents.


Marinda has achieved the Dementia Care Mapping qualification whilst also pursuing an NVQ Level 5 Apprenticeship Programme. This demonstrates her commitment to continuously expanding her knowledge, enabling her to provide exceptional dementia care.


Marinda has created a Namaste Room, which allows residents living with dementia to enjoy a relaxing environment. The room has sensory equipment, including tactile walls, fibre optic lights, a star projector and bubble tubes, which support residents’ mental health and well-being.
