Reviews

9.1 Devonshire Court has a Review Score of 9.1 (9.102)

The Review Score of 9.1 (maximum of 10) for Devonshire Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 6 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Devonshire Court in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.667 for Devonshire Court is calculated as follows: ( (49 Excellents x 5) + (22 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 4.667

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

The 4.435 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Devonshire Court is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 13.8 positive Reviews (69 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 6 Reviews ÷ 13.8 Target = 0.435

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

My father is very well looked after at Devonshire Court. Following a hiatus of leadership succession and issues around recruitment, the staff have really upped their game in what is a very challenging environment. I know many of the staff now and have faith in their intent and ability to look after my father.

We have been delighted with all aspects of this home despite it going through some tough times.
The care staff are all fantastic and show my mother lots of attention and genuine affection.
The cleaning staff also deserve a mention for not only cleaning but caring.
I would recommend Devonshire Court if you need to go through this difficult process with a loved one.

My mother has been a resident of the dementia unit for ten years. Mum is well looked after and enjoys life as fully as her condition allows. The 11-bedded unit provides a good ratio of staff to residents. The staff eat with the residents which adds to the 'family' atmosphere. The facility includes a large dining room/kitchen where drinks and snacks are prepared as required. Cooked meals are delivered in a heated trolley from the main kitchen. There is a residents' lounge/activities area and a further seating area. Mum's own room is sunny and light and provides everything she needs.
In addition to the work of the activities team, some of the staff volunteer their own time for additional activities and trips.
We recently had to take mum to the hospital for an appointment and we were grateful for the cooperation of management in providing both a carer and wheelchair transport to make this possible.

My mother is very well cared for and relaxed and happy. The staff are all 100% committed to her care, whether nursing, cleaning, caring, catering or entertaining. The rooms are bright, clean and very comfortable. Many things are arranged for the residents i.e entertainment by singers, bands, outings and making things. She has her hair set each week at the in home hairdresser.
