The home itself is large, excellently maintained and provides many facilities which are sadly lacking in most care homes. There is a hairdresser, cinema, large entertainment lounge and the bedrooms are nice and big and it is very clean throughout.
Activities provided are many and varied, all well planned and thought out to give maximum enjoyment to all participants.
Obviously, I would have no hesitation in recommending Devonshire Court!
Found this to be a very friendly and pleasant environment to be in. The staff are always very helpful and welcoming. The care given to our friend is very good.
The staff are great. I have visited many care homes over the years and they can't compare with Devonshire Court Care Home. The care given to our friend is great.
My nan has been in this home for two weeks, and her quality of life has improved already. She now smiles a lot. The staff are all really welcoming and lovely. We have been made to feel very welcome.
I was recommended to this care home by a fellow freemason. I have not been disappointed. The first priority is to the resident. Well-being and security are of paramount importance as are nutrition and timeliness. Staff go out of their way to ensure that residents are stimulated and well cared for.
Enjoyed my stay. Staff help is exceptional.
Look no further than Devonshire Court, overall outstanding on the CQC report which is difficult to find. My mother reluctantly moved into care just over two years ago during Covid. she moved into Devonshire Court late 2021 it was her third care home! Although Mum has found it difficult to settle. The family have no doubt she is receiving the best possible care, now Mum appreciated fully she couldn't do without her wonderful carers, that's a great comfort to the family. Mum has just celebrated her 100th birthday and Devonshire Court went above and beyond to ensure Mum and the family has an unforgettable experience even organising a Frank Sinatra tribute act dedicated to her. We feel extremely lucky that Mum was welcomed into Devonshire Court.
My stay at Devonshire Court has been a wonderful experience. The support and kindness shown to me have been fantastic. Everyone has been so helpful and kind and nothing is too much trouble. The dedication of all the staff is to be admired. I will look back on my stay at Devonshire Court with gratitude and appreciation.
My dad has been in the home for nearly a year and even with vascular dementia has gotten physically and mentally better since being here. He has put on weight and is happier than I have seen him for a number of years. The staff are fabulous with him and he is really well cared for. He fell regularly in his last home and has not done so at all here due to the excellent care. Thank you, it is wonderful to have my dad back thanks to your care for him.
The staff and home in general have done very well over the past year. Unfortunately, after a great start, the dreaded Covid arrived at the Home, causing tremendous additional work for a restricted workforce. Mum has attended the hospital on three occasions and has been well looked after getting there and back.
I am 94 years old and have reasons to be cared for. My memory is almost gone but physically I'm fairly good but I could no longer be trusted to care adequately for myself. I lived alone in a 6 bedroom house (widowed) so made up my mind to sell it and use the proceeds for my care.
The management has done everything that is possible to keep the residents safe and happy. I really do not wish to think about if we had chosen another home, after all the horror stories that have been reported about some homes during this pandemic.
We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for caring for our mum.
God bless you all x
Truthfully there is nothing I can suggest to improve things and I know that if I did I would be listened to. Thank you to all the staff. You are truly wonderful.
I can’t speak highly enough of the management of the response to the Covid-19 crisis. Their dedication to the care and safety of their residents has never been more apparent.
My mum has been in this home for 15 years and it has always been very good but they have excelled themselves during the Coronavirus crisis. They could not have looked after the residents better if they had been their own family. They have put on many activities and kept them occupied when they couldn’t see relatives and friends. Zoom calls have been facilitated and a means for visiting is now being developed. All relatives were fully informed and all questions answered when they had a resident sent back from hospital without the hospital waiting for test results (they now insist on written confirmation of a negative test) and everyone was kept safe, tested and all precautions taken. The home always had sufficient PPE and I felt I had no need to worry about Mum. What more can you ask for?
This, coupled with the normal splendid care that the residents receive is the reason that I rate this establishment so highly.
Thank you for your wonderful review. Our staff at Devonshire Court work very hard to enrich the lives of our residents, we will be sure to pass on this amazing feedback.
What a fantastic care home, absolutely lovely. Superb staff, excellent care. excellent food - absolutely second to none. May I thank all the staff at Devonshire Court for looking after my long and dear friend.
His carers are kind and respectful, he enjoys his meals and the many activities that are available every month.
Your chef is a credit to you and the delicious food he serves. The dining room is lovely and mum is eating well and is feeling better having nutritious food. Everyone is friendly and professional and we can't thank you enough as we know mum is happy and safe.
Thank you very much for your wonderful review of our home, Devonshire Court.
My sister, who has recently been diagnosed with dementia, had been struggling to manage to live independently for some time and unfortunately could no longer do so. I contacted Devonshire Court to make enquiries about the possibility of her going there. From initial contact to where we are today, I can only say what a wonderful place it is with amazing staff. My sister moved to Devonshire Court on 3rd September 2019. It has been a difficult transition for her, having lived independently all her life, but everyone at Devonshire Court has been amazing and not only supported my sister, but they have also supported me. I can only describe it as being the residential care home equivalent of a 5* hotel. I feel as if I have had an enormous weight lifted off my shoulders with the knowledge my sister is in a safe environment, is being looked after and can once again enjoy life. Thank you to everyone at Devonshire Court.

Meet the Team (2)

I started my career in social care in 1993 and has spanned over 30 years. I have worked with people from many different backgrounds with a variety of needs for example; people living with a learning disability, mental health issues, homelessness, older people, and physical disabilities.
I am passionate about equality and have spent my career striving to ensure vulnerable adults receive the care they truly deserve. In my present role as the Home Manager at Devonshire Court, my main motivator is to make the 10th decade of a person’s life as enjoyable as every other decade of the person’s life.

I joined the Team in October 2016.
