It is lovely to visit somewhere that is so friendly, helpful and upbeat.
Mum has been encouraged to join in many of the activities offered and loves Friday Party Night. She has danced for the first time in years.
She had only been there two days when she rang me and said 'What is so wonderful about this place is that no one makes you feel old'.
That sums up Devonshire Court. There is nothing else I can add!
It's been a big change in our lives and the staff here have made us so welcome. We have no worries or concerns which is very comforting to know my mum is in safe hands.
Thank god for people like the staff at Devonshire Court and I cannot praise them enough. It's a special place which we are lucky to have found for my mum.
My cousin has been at Devonshire Court for over 3 years. When she arrived she was poorly. Over the years her recovery is almost complete. I can honestly say that on our last visit she looked the lovely (the hairdresser had done a lovely style - perfect). She had recently been taken to the ballet in Leicester - to follow 'her dream' there was a board on display with photographs of her with the cast and a programme which the cast had signed - perfect. Devonshire Court's motto seems to be 'don't rest on your laurels, improve, improve, improve!'
Excellent facilities and wonderful staff. Next visit, I will order a full English breakfast.
My grandmother is a resident of Devonshire Court, the staff are all wonderful, extremely caring and friendly.
I visit two residents regularly. I enjoy my visits and always find the care home clean and welcoming and the staff friendly and helpful. The residents I visit seem happy and settled and there always seems to be many activities arranged for them to take part in if they wish. I would definitely recommend this care home.
Devonshire Court is a lovely place. Staff are very friendly, food is very good. We cannot find fault with anything. Altogether, very pleased to have my dad staying here.
Always lots going on, well-organised activities.
Very clean.
Caring people. Needs addressed. Feel my Mum is in a great care home.
My mother is a resident of Devonshire Court age 95 and has developed brittle asthma over the past few months which has been difficult to control. The staff have been so caring and supportive and the home manager arranged an asthma study day on site. Many staff attended including some on days off, with mutual benefit this is just one example of the personalised care and going beyond the call of duty to support the residents and their families. Thank you.
I have experience of several care homes with my own mother and Devonshire Court is absolutely excellent in all aspects.
My wife receives exceptional care at Devonshire Court. The carers were magnificent - I think they loved my wife, who unfortunately passed away a year ago.
Mum always says how kind and lovely the staff are towards her after they have left the room. She appears to be content and settled - she enjoys her food and especially enjoys the various trips out such as the seaside and a canal boat trip this summer.
We always find mum very settled and happy. She does not say much but she is obviously well cared for physically and mentally. Whenever she needs any special medical care, she always has first-class treatment.
The home is being updated - clean, comfortable. Help is always available. Nursing is not provided internally, but is organised if needed.
Variety of food is good and attention given to diets if necessary.
Entertainment and exercise are given and outings organised.
After our own home, which was to us the best, Devonshire Court is the best.
Having visited other relatives in other care homes and I can only describe Devonshire Court as Excellent. I can assure you that if we myself and my sister's daughter were not happy and our complaints listened to my sister would be moved,
Overall I am happy that my mum is cared for in Devonshire Court. The home has improved over the three years my mum has been there.
The frontline carers are excellent on every level and ensure my mum is treated with respect and dignity. The activities have improved 100%. It's a lovely friendly place to visit.
The entertainment programmes are very well planned and receive great support from the residents.
The cleanliness of the home is exceptional provided by a hard working staff. The dining arrangements compare to a very good hotel standard, without doubt, Devonshire Court is a credit to the masonic charity.
The care staff are all fantastic and show my mother lots of attention and genuine affection.
The cleaning staff also deserve a mention for not only cleaning but caring.
I would recommend Devonshire Court if you need to go through this difficult process with a loved one.
My father is very well looked after at Devonshire Court. Following a hiatus of leadership succession and issues around recruitment, the staff have really upped their game in what is a very challenging environment. I know many of the staff now and have faith in their intent and ability to look after my father.

Meet the Team (2)

I started my career in social care in 1993 and has spanned over 30 years. I have worked with people from many different backgrounds with a variety of needs for example; people living with a learning disability, mental health issues, homelessness, older people, and physical disabilities.
I am passionate about equality and have spent my career striving to ensure vulnerable adults receive the care they truly deserve. In my present role as the Home Manager at Devonshire Court, my main motivator is to make the 10th decade of a person’s life as enjoyable as every other decade of the person’s life.

I joined the Team in October 2016.
