Thank you for your feedback regarding your mother’s stay at Stanecroft and your positive feedback regarding the management and dining experience. We are very sorry to hear that you felt that the home was unable to meet your mother’s needs and that she felt unable to socialise with many of the residents.
We understand that it had been difficult to find an alternative placement for your mother when she came into the home and had explained that Stanecroft may not be the most appropriate environment for her, given that whilst the home has a number of residents without dementia, the home is primarily a specialist facility for those living with dementia. At Stanecroft we work hard to provide a wide and varied programme of activities to suit all residents, including regular outings, a swimming club and entertainers. Residents are invited to choose which activities and outings they would like to take part in, or suggest new activities. Please be assured that every effort was made to include your mother in any of the activities taking place.
We are sorry to hear that your mother’s experience at Stanecroft was not positive overall and are pleased to know that she is now in a setting that you feel is more appropriate. We are always grateful for feedback, whether it is positive or negative, in order that we can work to ensure that we continue to provide the very best levels of appropriate care for the residents.
Thank you very much for your feedback - I’m extremely pleased to hear your positive comments. I am particularly happy about your comments and ratings around the quality of care, although I understand you have some concerns regarding continuity of the care team. We do aim for continuity of care and have key colleagues allocated to each suite – however, to cover annual leave in the home we do at times rotate team members to ensure high levels of care across the home and maintain team levels.
In terms of the lounge we do have some other communal areas, including within the day club, which offer some additional areas to relax, take part in activities, and spend time with loved ones. We would be very happy to welcome you back should you have a need in the future for care and I do realise on this occasion you were staying with us as part of a respite requirement at short notice, should you have a need to stay with us again, we can certainly arrange a raised chair and toilet seat for you.

I've worked for Care UK for over 15 years. One of the best things about this role is seeing the difference a positive experience or conversation can make to a resident. Seeing smiles and hearing laughter every day around the home makes me so proud to work here and to work in a care setting.
I continue to learn new things every day, and I have lots of aims for the home, including developing our environment to make it even better, and to make residents’ wishes come true. Big or small, we make people’s dreams a reality. For example, when a resident wanted to be a bride for the day to relive her big day, we supported her to wear her wedding dress and I walked her up the aisle.
