Thameside

Since I live so far away, it's wonderful to know my mum is being so well looked after. Thameside staff are compassionate and skilled in making both residents and family feel welcomed and comfortable.

You all treat my uncle with respect, care, fun and dignity. You know him, and when I see him on Zoom or in-person (phew, Covid), he is the dapper well-kept uncle I know, with less memory. I think you all do a tremendous job, and I thank all of you for your kindness.

Mum has lived here for a number of years and had extremely good care. Was a very good move and Mum is very settled and happy here.

My mum has been a resident for about three years, and she was always treated with respect by all members of staff. She was well cared for and looked after by very friendly carers. I would happily recommend Thameside to anyone.

My family and I are very happy to know that our wife/mother/friend is so safe and secure and so well cared for. The staff are always happy, friendly and so helpful. They really do look after our lovely wife/mother/friend.

My 95-year-old father had lived completely independently until he had a fall in March 2021. He had been moved between two hospitals and a care home which was not adequate for his needs. He had declined quickly in health and motivation and we feared we had lost our lovely positive, smiley dad. After a long and drawn-out process, we finally found Thameside Care Home. Although it took him a while to settle in, he is now extremely settled and very happy. Dad has had a couple of short stays in Kingston hospital and the staff have always kept us updated on his progress and welcomed him back 'home' with a friendly, familiar face. We cannot fault the care he has received from the very first day he moved in. Although we are unable to see his room or view any of the facilities he is experiencing, due to covid restrictions, we are confident that he is very happy, secure and safe and that makes us, as a family, feel extremely thankful.

Caring and committed staff provide an outstanding service, taking the trouble to explain and assist wherever possible. Cheerful and positive in attitude, Thameside has been a welcome breath of fresh. air.

Thameside is a very caring care home. The staff are always very friendly and willing to assist whenever the need arises. During the pandemic, the staff have been very supportive and have all been a real 'team working together at this time'. My husband is looked after well and has the support that is required. Very friendly staff and management.

I cannot thank Thameside enough for the care my mum has received. The staff are very friendly and caring often going the extra mile to please. The home is well managed like an extended family. Gives me peace of mind to know Mum's being well looked after.

I would like to recognise all the staff at Thameside for being simply "amazing". It starts with good management and filters down to an extremely happy and motivated team. They have become my mym's family this last year, and we can tell how happy she is. More than ever during these difficult times, you have surpassed my expectations. You can all be extremely proud of what you have achieved without help from external entertainers and hairdressers etc. Mum loves to see us on the video calls, and she always looks so lovely and tells us about the fun she has and how kind everyone is. You really are the best carers I could have hoped for, and I never worry about her.

We transferred Mum to Thameside very shortly before the lockdown. She died (not of COVID-19) after only 15 weeks, so we were only able to visit her at the end. We know with certainty that Mum was happier than she had been for probably years. We know that because the staff communicated so well with us. Advanced dementia meant Mum could not manage calls. The staff tried several alternatives, and if we sent letters and photos, soon a photo of Mum arrived, looking at them contentedly with a carer and we had lots of other photos and contact. Mum had in the past been uncooperative over personal care but we told the staff, and quite soon it was no longer a daily struggle. As we sat with Mum on her last day, we saw how tenderly the staff cared for her as she slipped peacefully away. They were so kind to us too. After experience of contrasting homes, we are sure the differences stem from outstanding leaders. They are able to understand the concerns of everyone and they are open and caring.

The staff are very caring and friendly. The home is well managed.

This home is a credit to the management and staff from the manager to the cleaner nothing is too much trouble. The care and compassion shown by the staff are exceptional. The meals are tasty and nutritious and varied.

My dad has had the most wonderful care during his weeks respite stay. "Everyone is so kind, they can't do enough for you" these were his words. The food was great, lots of entertainment and things to do. Very kind staff at all times, day and night. As visitors, we were made so welcome. Lots of smiles, tea and biscuits.

First impressions are important and I am pleased to say that when coming to the care home it is always spotlessly clean, tidy and warm. The reception staff are excellent and like everyone employed prepared to answer any questions and give advice.

The home has just been refurbished to a very high standard although the room where my mother is could have had a little more attention. The staff are professional, kind and efficient. Maybe at times, some areas are a little understaffed. Recently my mother reached 100 years and the home put on a wonderful afternoon party for the residents with a singer. The only criticism is that medical follow-ups could be a little more stringent.

My mum has received very good care at Thameside. Staff are very kind and always have time to help her and talk to her. She is always clean and comfortable and has put on weight, which is what the doctor ordered.
