My 96-year-old mother came to Thameside in early July and has not stopped smiling! Prior to this we researched and visited the care home and we were always met with openness, enthusiasm and professionalism. From the moment she moved in, all staff made her welcome, answered her health care and social needs and ensured they are met. All the staff have been outstanding and we know she is happy, well cared for and safe with her new Thameside family.

The regular carers are very kind and compassionate. My mother took a while to settle in but having been in Thameside for over a year now she seems happy and settled despite her dementia. It was a very difficult decision to move her from her own home but it was definitely the right one. The food is good and all the staff are kind and friendly.

My mother stayed at Thameside for five weeks prior to a hip operation. She has dementia and can be forgetful. The staff at this care home are wonderful. They are all friendly and upbeat and give the residents quality care and attention. The home is divided into small units, with their own dining rooms and lounges, giving a more intimate feel. There is a weekly sheet of activities like river walks, animal petting, bino and sing-alongs. My mother required some special treatment prior to her operation and this was added to her care plan and executed without any fuss. The decor is a bit tired, but I was told it is due to be redecorated in the new year.

I have found Thameside to be a wonderful care home. The staff are very kind, helpful and loving. Nothing is too much trouble, the rooms are light and airy, the food is good and there is plenty of activities. My aunt has been at 2 other home now I wished I had moved her here first. She has started to smile and when asked if she is happy her reply is "very".

The whole atmosphere of Thameside is happy and welcoming at all times. I am confident that my husband is being well cared for. Everyone is dealt with equally regardless of their disability and the staff seem to support each other cheerfully (not always seen in other establishments). I look forward to my visits to Thameside and would be happy to reside there myself all things being equal.

My husband has been in the care of the wonderful staff at Thameside now for 3 months. It is hard to put into words the sense of relief for myself and our 3 sons to know that he is being cared for in such a friendly and compassionate place. We visit him often, but not at set times and on no occasion have we ever found a reason to be less than happy with what we see. Thameside is a cheerful, positive, spotless and nice smelling place with a genuine welcome to visitors and kindness and patience shown to the residents. The meals are tasty, varied and plentiful. But, overall, it is the staff that make the place such a success. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them. Thank you.

My brother has Parkinson's and had been a resident for just over 2 years.

Earlier this month, he was in hospital twice and was very, very unwell. He was discharged back to Thameside, much to our relief and greeted by banners and all the staff.

Their care immediately was perfect, we had meetings with them about the way forward and everything has been implemented. My brother feels safe, happy and at home.

My husband has come home today having spent 3 weeks respite care at Thameside Care Home.
He had a stroke 17 years ago and was diagnosed with vascular dementia 3 years ago.
I was in hospital having an operation.
I was so happy to see such a beautiful home.
Absolutely everyone was so kind and gentle with him.
I'm delighted to say he is so much brighter mentally and physically on his return.

Brilliant!

Interesting books in the library. The care and facilities overall were excellent. Everyone was very friendly. The only inconvenience was the night staff coming in to check at night but they were only doing their job!

Excellent care. I was so worried about my husband having respite to give me a break, but he loves it. It has given him a new lease of life. He no longer worries about the day he might need permanent care. The staff were amazing. The food was good and it was beautifully clean and nothing was too much trouble.

I came here for a rest break after severe illness both for my recovery benefit and to relieve the pressure off my family. On both fronts, the break benefited all involved.

My mother moved in October 2016 and has found it hard to settle but the care workers have all been very kind and professional, resulting in a much better experience than we had expected. I do not thnk I have had sufficient time to write a formal review but did want to express my gratitude to all the staff and especially a few and the lady on reception who has always been there with a smile and helpful advice.
