My father is extremely happy at Bernhard Baron Cottage Homes (BBCH) and feels the community is like a family. He feels well supported and is treated with dignity and respect. As his memory has deteriorated the staff and activity co-ordinators have offered extra support finding activities that are relevant to my father's interests as abilities. BBCH has always been extremely welcoming to me on my visits and I enjoy staying in the guest accommodation and joining my father for meals. We are really pleased with the caring attitude of staff and the supportive ethos within the community.
I visited a friend of a friend from another county and realised that I was unlikely to find anywhere which could meet my needs, both current and potential. I am enjoying the independence of my own cottage. Very adequately furnished with my own furniture and pictures. A carer checks me in the cottage morning and evening. The main meal is communal and there is a very varied menu. Provisions for breakfast and tea are available to collect daily. The cottages are cleaned weekly and bed linen is provided and laundered. There is a very varied programme of activities - a wide range of crafts, painting, films, outings, visitors to shops. Religious activities. Independent with the support of care and security.
Thank you Helen for your lovely review.
Extremely helpful with certain stages. Extremely kind and caring.
I feel comfortable and safe here, with such skilled and caring staff. I hope to remain here until I die. There is an atmosphere of a caring family. Until I am unable to look after myself, I am living in my private cottage in the grounds.
Carers are attentive, friendly and look after the residents. Everyone on the staff and trustees of the charity are approachable and treat you as friends not residents or patients. The human touch is there from the beginning. Nothing is too much trouble for them.
