My dad moved in following a fall and unable to go home. He has settled in nicely with some of his own home comforts. The staff are friendly and accommodating, nothing is too much trouble. My dad is treated with kindness, dignity and respect. Communication by the staff and management is excellent in keeping me updated and informed with my dad's care. I would 100% recommend Caroline House to anyone looking for a care home for their loved one

My sister has been a resident in Caroline House for over 6 months now, food is good & if my sister didn't like something they would go above & beyond to cater for her.
I have no concerns over her care the staff are always on hand to chat with you at any time.
Staff are very caring & attentive at all times.
When I visit I am made to feel part of a family.
Claire Manager of the home is always available & often chatting with the residents.
Shelley the senior care assistance has really built up a bond with my sister & with her complex needs is able to calm her when she gets very agitated.

I couldn't ask for a better care home for my sister.

Some staff very helpful and friendly. Rarely see management. Menus displayed seem very good. Room of our friend and neighbour very basic, needs updating, windows need updating. Our friend seems settled and content, although his dementia is deteriorating and he is aware. As a point of interest is there a nominated GP who visits the residents on a regular basis.

Thank you for your post. Please be aware the management team are available Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm, and outside of these hours when necessary. There is an ongoing maintenance and redecoration programme in place, window replacement is included as part of this. All feedback is very much appreciated.

The home is well run. The buildings are well maintained and the facilities are adequate for the comfort and convenience of the residents. The rooms are pleasant and kept clean and tidy and patient safety is assured with pressure pads, alarms and call buttons. My friend who lives there is well-looked after and very happy in his environment. Thank you for your care.

Mum has been a resident at Caroline House since October 2025 and has settled in well. Mum is very well cared for by all members of staff, of whom are all friendly and caring. Being the first care home for mum, I was, as mum was apprehensive, but so happy to choose Caroline House.

I visit mum regular and she is always praising the staff and is happy with the meals provided and care given.

My friend moved into Caroline House in May 2024. She was in two hospitals and two care homes over fifteen months, after needing to leave her home, and was very confused.
She was given a cheerful en-suite room at Caroline House looking into the garden. Shelves were put up especially for her to put the many things that she had brought with her so she could see them.
My friend did not want to go downstairs to meet with others living in the home. The staff tried to persuade her, but did not force it, and helped her to believe that this was her home from now on. Over the months, staff asked her if she would like to go downstairs, but respected her wish to stay in her room. The person running activities found how she loved colouring and gave her pictures to colour, which she enjoyed.
My friend went down to join a 100th birthday celebration, and enjoyed it. Gradually she went downstairs occasionally, and has now started asking to go down regularly.

Staff have been so patient with her, shown her respect, and gradually gained her trust. I am very impressed with them as a staff team.

I'm so pleased with Caroline House, my husband came here for a few nights Respite Care after a week in hospital. The manager and her deputy couldn't have been more helpful. The layout of my husband's room was changed to make everything work for him. He has mild dementia but severe mobility problems. All the staff were helpful, fast in responding to the 'Call' button. It's a Victorian house - the rooms I saw were all spacious and my husband's room was light, bright and roomy. No ensuite toilet but a commode provided. His health was carefully assessed by nursing staff and his medication given as I'd asked (swallowing difficulties) Visitors welcome all through the day. Whatever time of day I visited, I was content that he was being looked after well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this care home and my husband has said he'd be happy to return if respite care is needed again

Good. Pleasant staff. Facilities kept clean and tidy. Food is good considering it is 'cafeteria' food but it would be more varied.

We moved our mum here from another care home 18 months ago. Since she has been here she is so much better. The care she receives is excellent, she is always clean and her clothes tidy. Her meals are good and she always has plenty of snacks to keep her going. The entertainment they have good for them and we can't praise them enough for the care they give her. The staff always give us an update when we visit and also phone us with anything we need to know. Thank you to all the staff at Caroline House.

My family have been very pleased with the care shown to Mum since she came to Caroline House last October.

In particular, Mum's personal care, her room and the food have been excellent. The staff have all been friendly and approachable, even when busy.

My mother was placed in Caroline House, June 2024, after a lengthy hospital stay due to her developing vascular dementia. She seemed to settle in quite quickly, which I attribute to the wonderful carers. She has a ground floor room with her own loo and, I believe, she is comfortable. The room is kept clean & tidy. She eats her lunch, which looks & smells delicious, with a good appetite.

It is an older building but I think it has a good atmosphere. Mum can go to the dining room or the lounge but prefers to stay in her room. I'm happy that she is safe, seemingly happy and very well looked after.

Sister was discharged to this facility by the hospital, working with adult social care.
One of the staff of the discharge team showed the website, saying the room had private facilities and stated food was hotel quality, my sister was excited to go after waiting eight months for a discharge to assess place.
The staff at the facility were really very nice kind and caring however my sister only remained at the facility for three hours as the room organised was unsuitable with no private facilities, an alternative was offered for a top-up cost of £751 but the toilet was currently out of order and needed a plumbers attention, a commode was offered but due to mobility issues and medical conditions this was not an option.
The facility is in a poor state of decoration, as are the rooms and furnishings. There are locked doors due to the dementia patients restricting free access to areas.

Check this facility's rooms before accepting a placement the website pictures are misleading.

My mum has been at Caroline House for 8 weeks having to move care home due to a change in personal circumstances suffering from dementia. The move was very upsetting for Mum, however in the short time Mum has been at Caroline House Mum has settled in extremely well thanks to the care and support of all the wonderful staff. The move has been made so much easier for Mum and our family knowing Mum is happy, settled and well cared for. For this to happen so quickly in such a short time is thanks to everyone at Caroline House, in making our mum and our family so welcome. A massive thank you to you all.
