We can't speak highly enough of High Broom. For someone who had always vowed never to move to a care home, my Dad spent his last, fragile year, aged 97, happy, secure, and worry free.
All the staff are so kind and attentive, giving him space to sit in the garden with his newspaper and a cup of tea, often with one of the resident cats on his lap, enjoying the bird song and frequent sightings of a fox or deer.
We all had peace of mind knowing that medication, doctor and optician visits were taken care of on site, allowing us to chat and hear Dad laugh again.
Receiving the High Broom Herald every week allowed us to feel part of the community and the impressive updates on social events, renovation, staff training, technical innovation and delicious food!

Bravo and thankyou to all the team!

I recently visited my friend, an old neighbour, at Highbroom Care Home and came away truly impressed. It doesn't feel like a typical care home at all - more like a beautiful, welcoming hotel. The surroundings are stunning, and the whole place has a calm, uplifting atmosphere.

Every member of staff I encountered was incredibly kind and caring. Even the management team took the time to say hello and chat, which made the visit feel very personal. It's clear they really care about both residents and visitors.

My friend is very happy there, which was lovely to see. He showed me some adorable ducklings the home had arranged for residents - such a thoughtful touch. He also mentioned that deer often visit the gardens, adding to the peaceful setting.

This is one of the most caring places I've visited, and somewhere I'd feel happy to be in the future. A massive well done to the whole team.

Highly recommend this home. Caring and dignified support was given to my Mum. Whilst her stay was unfortunately much shorter than hoped, she was really well looked after during her time there and particularly enjoyed the company in the lounge, the lovely food and the kind staff. Management were visible and supportive. Thank you High Brooms.

My mother was a resident at High Brom Care Home for nearly 5 years. She died in the home in November 2025. She was extremely happy there, felt very well cared for, and was keen to join in the many activities provided. The care staff and management were wonderful with her. The kitchen staff and cleaners had very high standards. The activities coordinators are very caring and respectful.

Mum has been living at High Broom Care Home since May. The home is characterful and mum's bedroom is lovely with views over the beautiful grounds. Mum settled in immediately and enjoys all the varied activities including the singalongs, quizzes and bingo. She always compliments the food and I look forward to receiving the weekly Herald newsletter which includes the menu for the week! Massive thanks to every single member of staff who are so caring, professional and realized quickly that mum has a great sense of humour. I enjoy visiting and am always welcomed warmly and offered refreshments. Communications are excellent and the Manager and all the staff always have time to answer any questions that might arise. It is so reassuring to know that mum is happy and well cared for, thank you.

Dad's care at HB has been excellent from the moment we first walked through the door. Staff are always friendly and welcoming to me and very responsive to Dad's changing needs. There is always someone available to help when he needs it and he is treated with kindness and dignity by everyone at the home. The house has been beautifully furnished, so it is homely and comfortable and the grounds are lovely. We enjoy walks in the grounds and Dad's great-grandchildren can play there while he watches them. My dad has his own furniture and pictures in his room which I'm sure help with the confusion of his dementia. It's been a huge relief for me to see him settled and so well cared for.

Mum thoroughly enjoys being in her new home and gets on very well with the staff. With her dementia, she stopped being happy but since being in the home she seems to be happy again.

From the moment I walked into High Broom Care Home, I was greeted by singing and was immediately impressed by the friendly, person-centred approach. Having visited numerous residential homes in my quest, I was struck by the dignity and respect shown to the residents, as well as their understanding of each person's needs. The staff and management have the best interests of all residents in mind.

My father's condition is sadly degenerating, but the strong and genuine relationships I have built with the management and staff have allowed me to spend quality time with him, knowing that his care and dignity are maintained 24 hours a day. I feel free to spend as much time with my dad as I want and never feel like a burden. I have even become his representative during quiz games. The most important thing to me is my dad and maintaining his dignity. With the support of all the staff at High Broom, I find peace and comfort in achieving this. For that, I will always be eternally grateful.

My father has now been in High Broom for nearly 18 months, and we can see the difference in him during this time. This is down to the care and support he receives from all the staff that work there. We have no concerns with the home and find the staff professional, hard working and friendly. If there are any concerns, then the team contact us straight away and I feel we have a great relationship with the staff. There are plenty of activities for the residents and the food is good. We as a family, are pleased we choose High Broom Care Home.

My mother has been at High Broom for a year now and is extremely happy with her choice. Everyone on the staff has been very helpful and has been meeting her every need and request. She loves being in the countryside and being able to watch the wildlife from her window has been a great pleasure for her. She appreciates being able to walk around the grounds too. Her only worry has been that she will get too fat as the food is so wonderful. On our arrival when visiting we are always greeted by a staff member and offered a drink (and a biscuit!) which is so very welcoming. The management are very approachable, efficient and easy to communicate with and I can't praise them highly enough.

Mum moved into High Broom in February. We were lucky enough to get her into one of the cottages, suitable despite her dementia as they are secure and have a carer 24/7. The cottage is lovely, roomy and homely, and allowed her to bring more of her own belongings than if she just had a room. This helped her feel at home straight away. She has a wonderful view of the lovely gardens from her sitting room, as well as her own private patio with flowerbeds. Brilliant for Mum as she was a keen gardener.

The staff are all really kind, friendly, efficient and really smiley which makes all the difference. They always have time for you and will do anything for you. This means that the atmosphere in the home is really happy and nurturing. The food is lovely, also varied; they make separate cakes for the diabetics at afternoon tea and are always careful to ensure that a good range of foods are given over the day. The twice daily activities are also fun and varied. We all feel it couldn't be better.

On visiting our relative, we are always made to feel very welcome. He has always been as happy as he can be, always well looked after, clean clothes and tidy.
The choice of food is excellent including afternoon tea that relatives are encouraged to join.
If any problems occur the home deals with them and informs promptly.
They have wonderful activities and try to encourage residents to participate without badgering.
The manager is excellent and is always available for a chat.

All in all, we have never had any reservation in choosing High Broom Care Home.

My mother was always opposed to 'going into a home' but following a bad fall, was forced to do so. We chose High Broom Care Home as it was one of the very few outstanding care homes in the area and it has been one of the best decisions we ever made. My mother is so happy there - is always praising the staff who are just so kind and considerate, the food (which is extremely good and there is so much of it!) and the varied activities which she very much enjoys. High Broom thoroughly deserves its outstanding rating.

It's always a pleasure to visit Mum at High Broom Care Home. We are always made to feel welcome and always offered refreshments on arrival.
The home is lovely and warm and often decorated with seasonal items which have been made in the arts and crafts sessions. The menus are varied and the food looks and smells delicious.
There are always activities going on which keep the residents engaged.
The staff are always happy to chat on how Mum is getting on and everyone seems to love the work they do in caring for the residents.
