High Broom Care Home is full of character with bedrooms that vary in shape and size but all are pleasant and well proportioned.

All residents have their own room, most are single rooms but some are suitable for use by couples. All rooms have TV and telephone points and a 24-hour on-call bell. Most rooms are en-suite and a centrally located lift provides easy access to the first and second floors.

High Broom has a number of close care cottages that are built around a pleasant courtyard and provide a little more space and greater independence, coupled with the peace of mind of knowing that help is near at hand.

High Broom has extensive gardens, set in 32 acres of parkland, which can be enjoyed by all. The gardens are regularly visited by a wide variety of birds as well as deer, badgers, foxes, squirrels and rabbits.

Ramps, handrails and plentiful seating mean that residents can enjoy these beautiful surroundings all year round.

My mum has just recently moved into High Brooms Care Home. She has settled in really well and this has been helped by her being well cared for by the friendly kind staff. The food is excellent and daily activities are keeping her stimulated and entertained which has improved her quality of life. As
a family, we can phone any time and visit easily and feel very welcome by the staff. We could not have chosen a better place for our mum to be.

My Aunt has been in High Broom Care Home since September 2021 and is extremely happy. She did have some concerns about going into a home however, High Broom has made the transition from her own home to care, an absolute pleasure. Everyone is caring and nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff
who are always happy to help. I would not hesitate to recommend High Broom to anyone considering going into care.

Very positive outlook for the future. Made to feel at home.
As a non resident I have confidence my mother will be cared for and looked after which is a great relief to me.
I know my mother has put on weight which was a concern this also tends to show a contented situation.

My uncle moved to High Broom in June 2021. He was previously at another care home but was terribly unhappy and deteriorating before our eyes. A friend recommended High Broom and we are so pleased that they did.
High Broom is a beautiful grand house and when you walk in the homely atmosphere makes you
feel so welcome. All of the staff at High Broom are caring, welcoming and friendly and I now recommend to all of my friends, I've even joked about booking a room as its more like a hotel than a Care Home.
The welcome I receive whatever time of the day is always welcoming and refreshments are always offered. Overall my Uncle is extremely happy. What more could I wish for.

My parents, now aged 91 and 100, have been residents of High Broom since August 2016. The standard of care given is, in my view, outstanding. Residents are treated as individuals rather than as "cases", with unfailing respect and courtesy. Staff are of a very high standard so that one can have complete
confidence in their knowledge of residents' needs and preferences. On more than one occasion when there has been a major medical emergency, the standard of care was potentially life-saving. The atmosphere is very good - one immediately senses that High Broom is essentially a kind place. The quality of management and communication is excellent. I was also very impressed by the way High Broom dealt with the Covid pandemic; the safety and wellbeing of the residents was paramount. I would unhesitatingly recommend High Broom to anyone looking for a high-standard care home.

From the initial contact and contract to the birthday cake and care lavished on my mother I have nothing but praise for the management and staff at High Broom Care Home. Set in beautiful grounds the place is a joy to visit.

Friendly and caring staff who keep us all well informed about the weekly activities and the menu. Lovely gardens and peaceful setting. I'm sure the ability to have some of her old furniture in her room has been reassuring for my mother.

I live in New Zealand and when I came home earlier this year my Nana had moved to High Broom Care Home. They were so helpful and friendly to me. The care they give my Nana is brilliant. Lovely staff and carers. They also have an excellent Facebook page which I love as I get to see my Nana in her day
to day life. She is nearly 102 so she doesn’t have a smart phone and if I can’t get her on her landline the ladies at the office will check up on her for me. I was very impressed with the level of care given at High Broom Care Home and also how they treat the family members of the residents.

My mother came to High Broom Care Home to recover from an accident prior to rehabilitation. The home is beautifully situated in the forest with lovely grounds all around it. Communication with the managers is faultless and any requests/concerns are addressed immediately. My impression is that all of
the staff want the residents to be happy whilst they are there and make real efforts to ensure that their needs are met as far as possible. The atmosphere is calm and staff members appear to work well together and have a positive and facilitative attitude. There are activities twice daily. My mother's room is very small but that may be because her stay this time is temporary and it is a shame that the grounds cannot be used more for fresh air for those who cannot independently make their way about. Friends and relatives are however always supported to go outside with the person they visit if they wish. All in all a good experience in difficult circumstances.

My sister has been in High Broom Care Home for the last 3 and 3/4 years nothing has been too much trouble from the manager and the team. My sister has sadly been in care for the past 50 years and this has been the place she has been the happiest in without a doubt. Well done team

Cannot praise High Broom Care Home enough, they are so kind and caring to all residents and I know my Mum is in the best hands. Staff are amazing always happy and available to discuss any concerns I may have. Communication is excellent as we receive a weekly e-mail with all the news of the week and
activities the residents will be offered. I would definitely recommend High Broom to anyone thinking about looking for a care home for a loved one.

Mum moved into High Broom Care Home in April 2020. Since then we have been so pleased with the care given: the carers are very warm, caring and friendly and mum is treated with respect and as an individual. High Broom has a lovely happy, homely atmosphere, is spotless and well furnished and mum can
look forward to a delicious menu every day as well as activities every single day of the week in the morning and afternoon. The management team is open and receptive to residents suggestions and the team works so well together with a sense of humour very much in evidence and that is shared with residents who seem very happy in their home. Mum often tells me how caring the staff are and how she is happy there. She is able to be as independent as she wishes with the knowledge that care is on hand when needed. I frequently recommend High Broom and I can think of nowhere else that I would rather have mum living.

This review updates my previous one from September 2021.
Mum continues to enjoy friendly and caring attention at High Broom Care Home. We have all been through some very trying times over the last couple of years, yet no matter how busy they may be, the staff are always ready with a kind smile and
encouraging words. I could name some of the carers we see most - but that would be unfair as they are all friendly and caring and seem to take the trouble to get to know the individual residents.
Cost of care is high of course when looked at comparted to pensions, but when compared to the cost of having regular visits by carers to mum's own flat - as was the case before she came to High Broom - the cost is little more but with much more care and attention included.
Hats off too to the management team; without motivational leadership and performance management, standards can easily slip - especially during times of turmoil. I would recommend High Broom to anyone looking for high-standard care.

We have experienced nothing but kindness from every single member of staff. My mother says it's a very happy home. The communication and transparency are very good. We particularly like the feedback we as relatives get following the managers weekly meeting with the residents.

It has been an incredible time for the staff of High Broom with the virus and all it's ugly friends that has caused so much upheaval everywhere but I have to say that they have not once flinched or faltered against the hard times no matter how stressful it seemed to be. (We did not notice anything)
and I know the TLC to all the residents has been amazing. If I could award a score out of 100 it would be 112. The staff are just pure angels at High Broom Care home. There is no more that can be said.

Mum has been living in High Broom since June 2019 and the standard of care she has received has been second to none. There are always lots of staff around and from the kitchen staff to the gardener, they all take time to chat with the residents and make the visitors welcome which is lovely. The activity
coordinators are constantly thinking up new events for the residents to be involved in. The staff have been amazing since the lockdown and have kept in touch with the relatives which has been a great comfort as we have not been able to visit now for 3 months. They have worked really hard to keep the virus at bay and took the decision to shut the doors before the government advice was issued. Well done all at High Broom. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home.

My mother has been a resident at High Broom Care Home for the last twelve years. She is extremely well cared for and looked after by all the staff who are all very attentive to her needs. There is a very "homely" atmosphere in the home which is very good for the residents. Relatives are always made
very welcome and are well looked after too.
I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending High Broom as a safe and caring environment to live in.

Mum has been at High Broom since February, and we are so grateful for the kind and compassionate care that she has received, especially during the recent, very difficult times. The staff always go out of the way to help and respond quickly to calls and emails. The food is lovely and all home-cooked.
Mum enjoys the entertainment and the afternoon teas are always lovely. She has received nothing but the utmost care during her stay.
