The staff can't be more helpful. My mum is really fussy, she likes it here!
The staff at Place Farm House are very caring and supportive to both residents and their relatives and I would not hesitate to recommend them either for daycare or for a residential place. They have activities every day for residents and are very flexible to adapt to the needs of the different residents.
My friend has resided in the home for over two years and the level of care she has received has been exceptional. Recently for a 'BIG' birthday, a party was put on for the residents and family.
We would thoroughly recommend Place Farm House and the lovely staff who were so patient, kind and caring during Mum's recent stay.
My original intention was to spend a week's respite to which I extended a further week. Having my late wife in care over a period of 3 years and 2 care homes they were no match for Place Farm House.
I have known this nursing home for over ten years and have had many friends cared for here. I would most certainly recommend this place to anyone. The management and staff really do care for each and every resident personally, taking every need to the highest level! It's kept spotlessly clean and food is always home cooked, varied and on time. A beautiful garden with a summer house that is just like their own homes. it's so good to have peace of mind that my friend is well looked after and lovingly cared for!
I have lived At Place Farm House since 19.12.16 after deciding that I could no longer live alone at home. I was very worried about going into a home as I felt I would be giving up my independence but it was the best decision I ever made the home is a wonderful place and the management and staff are so caring . There is a wonderful range of activities that take place every day and we go out on lots of outings through out the year. My health is so much better since I became a resident at Place Farm House , I still have all my independence but there is support there if I need it . The manager has always got a open door policy where you can just pop in and have a chat with him anytime of day which is lovely. The staff always go out of their way for you , and the food is excellent .
This was a difficult visit, mum was confused and had been wandering at night. The staff were extremely kind and considerate and I always feel when I leave that mum is getting excellent care from people who have her very best interest at heart.
My husband has been at Place Farm House for 3 months, due to building work being carried out in our home. He has mobility problems and early dementia. He is very happy there. The staff are excellent and he is well-cared for. Place Farm House is only about 100 yards from me, and I can pop in whenever I like, and take him out when he wants.
My nan moved into Place Farm House last year, and although she was very reluctant to move into a residential setting, she has been fully supported by the Managerall his lovely staff. The home is smaller than some of the larger 'hotel' style ones, that Brighton has to offer, but this makes it homely and welcoming, and the staff know all the resident's and their personalities which only adds to the person centre care it has to offer, unlike those larger homes. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for residential care.

The family business originally started with the purchase of Abbey Lodge in Hythe in 1996, with Liz running the home with her husband Neil & the family living in the flat above the home. This has given both Liz & Andy a unique depth of experience and insight caring for the elderly, and this is manifest in the running of Place Farm House.
Having since retired and sold Abbey Lodge, Liz takes a keen interest in supporting Andy, who oversees the running of Place Farm House and is the Registered Manager at their sister home, The Shelley. After growing up around Abbey Lodge, Andy sought his own healthcare career, initially training as a Registered Nurse and working in post-operative care. Andy’s wider management experience developed managing NHS contracts and then more latterly as an Account Manager for BMI Healthcare.
Liz & Andy strongly believe in providing a fulfilling and tranquil setting where the elderly can enjoy their lives, in a person-centred way.

Karen has developed Place Farm's service to ensure it provides intimate care to our residents which they can enjoy in a relaxing environment. This is taking a long time to develop and building of a strong and supporting team is an ongoing process. Karen has been integral to ongoing success of Place Farm during the disruptive COVID pandemic as well as the extensive development of the building and grounds between 2022-2025
Longer-term, Karen really enthused about improving Place Farm House with the aim to be an Outstanding rated care home one day.

Mandy & Elaine are an important part of the daily care which is provided to the residents, and oversee the running of the wider care team on shift. Amongst their many roles, they ensure the residents are comfortable & have their medical needs catered for, working closely with GPs & professionals. Mandy & Elaine are also heavily involved in medication management and wound care.
Mandy has worked at Place Farm since 2001 & is part of the fabric of the home. Previously, she was the home's Welfare Champion before moving into her current role. Elaine had previous experience as a foster carer and then in community home care before moving to Place Farm in 2021.
