Avon House

I honestly cannot praise Avon House and all of the staff enough. From the moment my dad came to the home, the care and compassion they have shown him has been absolutely amazing.

The staff are incredibly patient and caring, and it's clear that they genuinely care about the residents rather than simply doing a job. They treat my dad with dignity, respect and kindness, and it gives my brother and I such peace of mind knowing that he is being looked after by people who truly care.

The communication has also been excellent, and whenever I have questions or concerns, the staff have always been approachable and supportive. They have gone above and beyond on many occasions, and we are so grateful for everything they do.

Choosing a care home for a parent is one of the hardest things a family can go through, but knowing my dad is somewhere he is safe, cared for and treated with genuine compassion means the world to us.

My uncle was moved to Avon House a year ago and he is very happy there. He was struggling to live on his own in the community and was very weak and frail. Since being at Avon House he looks fit and well and is thriving. The staff are wonderful. I would highly recommend this care home.

We couldn't have found a more friendlier home for mum, Avon House is a place you would want for any member of your family. The staff go above and beyond their duties, nothing is too much trouble, they're so helpful. Very attentive to mum's every need. Would highly recommend this home to anyone, the care is second to none.

It's extremely satisfying to see my mother being cared for and looked after properly. The staff are very attentive and are always available with no time restrictions. I would happily recommend Avon House.

I will always be grateful to the staff at Avon House for their kindness and support to my husband and to me.

Since my mum has been in Avon House, she has drastically improved. The staff and management are absolutely amazing, it is like a home from home, and my mum, who has dementia, is so happy, it is heartwarming to see her like this and it is total peace of mind for me knowing she is receiving this top level of care.

My Mother has been in Avon House as a resident for about 16 months. We were very impressed from the outset when we met the Team. We are really glad that Mum is staying at Avon House. Everyone has been exceptionally supportive and professional. The Teams knowledge surrounding Dementia is excellent with the handling of different situations always being dealt with compassion and understanding. A great Team, well managed and a pleasure to see them regularly.

This is a wonderful care home. The home is very clean and well presented. The staff are very kind, helpful and great with my Mum. My Mum is well settled here, well cared for and there is very good entertainment provided by entertainers who come to the home. The staff also provide a lot of activities for the residents too. They do their best to make every resident feel at home.

My mother stayed at Avon House for 3.5 years in that time, I could see that she was very very well looked after, everyone was truly amazing. My mother passed away in March 2025 and I am so very glad she was living in Avon House at the time. I am very thankful for all the people that cared for her.

I always find Avon House clean and warm. The staff are very friendly, caring and attentive. Mum says the food is very good.

Outstanding care for my mother. Simple as that. Highly recommended. Well looked after, always smiling and happy. The standards set by this care home are exceptional. All the staff are attentive, empathetic and genuinely kind.

Thank you so much to all the staff at Avon House for looking after my mother wonderfully for the last 18 months of her life. Communication with me, as next of kin, was superb: the staff always informed me of any changes and kept me updated as she gradually deteriorated and faded away. In particular, I always felt that she was respected as a valuable individual human being right to the very end, with instinctive regard for her and her choices. The regular updates of activities via the social media page were great and a really good example of how you don't have to do expensive things to provide stimulation - normally the opposite is true and Avon House are a brilliant example of it. There always seemed to be something to engage the residents if they chose to participate, but never any pressure if they did not. This was her 5th care home - but the only one in which she settled. In particular, 5/5 is not enough for being treated with dignity. Can I give 10/5 please?!

I love living here at Avon House. I have made lots of friends, the staff are happy and helpful and the activities keep me very occupied.

Knowing my dad is safe and secure at Avon House is a huge relief. The staff makes it a fantastic environment for the residents to feel comfortable and happy. They are always doing engaging activities, providing good nourishment and great care to all residents. They give regular and detailed reports/updates so that we are always kept in the loop. It is always clean and I love taking my little boy to visit his grandad. I couldn't imagine a better place for dad to be.

All the staff are lovely and I enjoy lots of activities, especially the Arts and Crafts.
