Avon House

My mother spent the last year of her life in the wonderful care of the incredible staff at Avon House. I can honestly say Mum could not have been in a more welcoming and caring environment. Plenty of activities and stimulation and small enough to make each resident feel special. Faultless. Thank you Avon House.

We moved my nan from another care home to Avon House. Since moving, she has become more sociable and happier. I now feel more secure in the knowledge that my nana is safe and secure. I always get such a lovely warm welcome when I visit.

We moved Mum into the care home just before Christmas and all the staff have made her feel really welcome and comfortable. The activities are great and Mum really enjoys these. All staff are super friendly and helpful.

We couldn't have moved our Grandad into a better home. It is always clean and smells nice, the food is great and always smells so good. All the staff are wonderful from housekeeping, laundry, kitchen, carers and management. They are all so caring and thoughtful and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. The management go above and behind to get things sorted. They have a great selection of activities for the residents which they all seem to enjoy including events that the family can attend as well which are great fun. It has a real family feel to it which we love. Go Team Avon, keep up the great work.

We found Avon House friendly, and caring, especially during the difficult time of covid and being unable to visit, they were always available and patient when all we were able to do was phone for updates as to how our friend was settling in. They always had plenty of activities going on and while our friend was only going to stay a short time, she was so happy she wanted to stay. Which says an awful lot about the staff and the home.

The staff at Avon House put so much care and attention into providing great care and fantastic activities for all the residents. My great aunt always had a lovely smile on her face and this is down to the wonderful team at Avon House. Thank you all for your hard work, it is much appreciated.

The care home is amazing. The staff are excellent, caring, and thoughtful. My mother-in-law and all the residents are happy and so well looked after. The home itself is always clean and tidy. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Residents are kept entertained and stimulated. The meals look and smell wonderful. Would highly recommend Avon House. Moving my mother-in-law here from her previous care home was absolutely the best thing for her. She is extremely happy, content and well looked after. Thank you so much Avon House and all the staff.

I love going to see Mum. Avon House is a happy home. The staff are lovely. Well cleaned. My mum is so happy there. I can discuss anything with the staff. They always have time. They really put themselves into their job to do the best for all the residents there. All lovely.

My Dad is new to Avon House but I have to say the home and its wonderful staff have exceeded any expectations I had. They have made my Dad and our family so welcome, nothing is too much trouble. My Dad is at ease here and I have spent some lovely hours with him. Keep up the good work Avon House, people need care homes just like you that actually care for people and their families at a difficult time in their lives. Thank you.

My mum was only in the home for a few months before she passed. When we visited her she was clean and content. Very friendly staff and caring.

My husband was very happy whilst in the care of the staff at Avon House. He felt helped and supported with care and kindness. My husband very much enjoyed the companionship and good company of other residents and staff who worked there.

She has enjoyed the experience and will miss all the staff. The management is amazing, and the home is spotless, food wonderful, and the overall care is exceptional.

Very happy with the care provided. I feel very confident that any situation that arises is dealt with and advised straight away to our family. Care has been taken to learn my mother's history so as to talk to her about her past. Plenty to do, always drink and food available. Pleased to have moved her to Avon House.

The policy seems to be that the staff just travel between Avon House and their own homes, not exercising or shopping. Now that is impressive, and I would like to thank everyone for looking after my Mum and all the other residents so well.

When my mother became a resident of Avon House nearly 5 years ago, in spite of her dementia she was fast on her feet, intrusive into the rooms of others and generally fairly disruptive. She was hard to keep up with and hard work. Over the years she changed and was more manageable until her end of life care last week, including her death in the home. The staff, during all those years, were utterly wonderful in every situation, including her last moments. She was always treated with understanding and loving-kindness and total respect. Mealtimes were always special, and she always ate freshly cooked food with relish. Care is always that fundamental ingredient, whatever the facilities, and in all, she had to her last moments. I could not have asked for more.

Knowing mum is in such a caring, clean, happy environment gives me real peace of mind.

Mum has been at Avon House since May 2017. I can't praise the home or staff enough. Mum is treated so kindly and with respect. Such a homely environment too. I can visit mum whenever I like day or late at night. The manager is very good at sorting out any issues one might have.

It is a pleasure to visit Mum and chat with the staff.

Avon House is a very caring environment. The staff were always friendly and welcoming offering a cup of tea and biscuits or lunch if you wanted to stay. My uncle enjoyed the food and gained weight which he needed to do. The staff were adaptable to my uncle's needs and requirements, making his stay as comfortable as possible up to his passing away.
