The staff are generally kind, considerate and understanding. I am kept informed of any changes or problems with my parents who are both in the home. Management are not only supportive of my parents but the immediate family. Parents are well cared for, food is good personal hygiene and cleanliness is of a high priority. Generally and happy well run home.

Overall Experience
I find this Dementia care home to be excellent in the way my mother has been cared for in over three years, the manager and care staff are well trained and approachable to any concerns we may have as a family. I do the care review every four weeks to assess my mothers situation, she is well cared for in all her emotional, physical and mental requirements. They are also supportive and reassuring to us as a family as this is a heartbreaking and stressful time, having a relative with Alzheimer's.

My mothers condition is gradually deteriorating and I feel she is in a secure, caring and happy environment to end her last days. I would recommend this care home to anyone who requires Dementia care.

I have always found the management and staff to be welcoming, when not busy they often have a chat with me which I find pleasant. The home is always clean and presentable. My sister, brother and I all feel the same, and are most pleased our mother has made it her home!

As the Manager of Avon House, I feel that I can make a difference in individual's lives who are on their dementia journey, by promoting the core values of care, privacy, dignity, rights, choices and independence. There is nothing more rewarding than being able to support and care for people in the later stages of life, providing the care they wish to receive in the way they would like, just because a person is living with dementia, does not mean they are unable to make decisions. We are their voice and I am passionate that they should be heard.

I have worked every job in care over the years and the most important part to me is enriching our Resident's lives and making many happy memories. I am proud to have the opportunity to look after others and work with such a great team.
