I have visited my previous neighbour on a few occasions and have found the staff members to be very caring and friendly. The care home is not too big a premises, in order to be able to give the necessary care and attention to all its residents. Staff and manager are very friendly. I haven't experienced
the activities and haven't been there at meal times. I understand they have a chef for cooking the food.
I do feel the premises does need a little updating of the resident's rooms.

I visit Rosedale on a weekly basis to see a friend. Rosedale are always kind when I arrive. I have observed the compassion and empathy towards the residents from the staff and management team. All the residents are always clean and tidy, happy and well cared for. This care home is first class and we
are lucky to have this little family-orientated place in Horsham.

My dear friend became a resident of Rosedale in October 21, choosing to spend her final days in her room, where she enjoyed her views of the garden from her bedroom window. She appreciated all her wholesome meals, which were always brought to her by the lovely staff who became like family to her. They
always made time to listen to her life stories as well as gently tend to her physical needs. When my friend began to decline in her final weeks of life, the staff regularly monitored her, so it was comforting to know a lovely staff member was holding her hand when she died in February 2023. The manager was exemplary in communicating with her friends as well as in his care and concern for residents.

Well, I was very upset to put Mum in a home, looked at a few, went to Rosedale Care Home and all my fears were lifted. My experience going into Rosedale Care Home was one of a warm, loving and caring experience. It was not like a home for the elderly, it was like a home from home. My mum is very cared
for and loved, they treat all their residents like this. Staff and management go beyond their duty. Well done to all of them.

It is never an easy decision to move your loved one from their own home to a care home; however, the warm and friendly atmosphere at Rosedale's with such kind and empathetic staff with years of experience has ensured my mum has made this transition more successfully than I could have ever hoped for.
Being a large house, the layout has a home-from-home feel, so is easy to get used to, and we were able to personalise Mum's room as much as we liked to help with this transition. She has not only been treated with great care and respect but as the individual that she is. Being a well-staffed and small home means that all of this wonderful care and attention is possible and consistent, which gives our family huge comfort and peace of mind, and most importantly, my mum is safe and happy.

Since my mother has been a resident she has been treated with the utmost care, and respect and has been looked after in the most caring way possible. All the staff are very friendly my mother could not be any happier. She has really settled in which makes life easier for my sisters and myself. Could
not recommend Rosedale enough.

My dad stayed at the home for a week. This was for respite for my Mum who acts as his main carer. I felt that Dad was well cared for and the staff were friendly and conscientious. He seemed to settle very well and enjoyed sitting in the garden, making the best of the pleasant weather at the time of
his stay. He also loved the food. I think he ate very well!

The home is being renovated and you can see the improvements being made to communal areas to bring things up to date. When it was time to pick Dad up, several members of staff took the time to say goodbye and showed genuine affection for him.

Thank you for taking good care of him.

This was the first time that my mother has gone into respite care whilst we had a break for a week. I was very apprehensive about it; how she would react and what it would be like for her. We were warmly welcomed and reassured by the manager and his lovely team. I was given reassurance that they can
cope but that they would let me know if there were any issues and that I was welcome to call any time to check on her. In the event, I opted not to call, but I was thinking about her all week. In the event I need not have worried, we collected Mum and all was well, and in fact, she thought she had been on holiday. I am very grateful for the care she received, and the break we had was much needed, and we are planning on more respite care periods. We will be comfortable that Mum will be in good hands.

Today I had the pleasure of attending the afternoon tea, put on for the family and friends of the residents of Rosedale. The manager and staff were very welcoming presenting a wonderful array of delicious sandwiches, cakes and tea. The venue was clean and bright and very comfortable for the residents
and visitors too.
Most importantly was the care, support and dignity shown to each resident, whatever their needs. The manager and staff showed a professional and friendly approach to who they cared for creating a happy atmosphere enjoyed by all. Manager and staff are great ambassadors for your company.

Have had several delightful visits to a friend/relative at Rosedale. I noted how pleasant the room was and how comfortable the friend was being there.
The staff were welcoming and treated the residents with care and politeness.
The general atmosphere at Rosedale was very positive, and there was
a sense of kindness towards the residents, each person valued. The "tea party" was a huge success, and many thanks are due to the manager and his staff. Well done!

Mum has been at Rosedale for about three years now. We have always been happy because she has been happy there. When we learned of the recent ownership change we feared the worse.
However, after several months we couldn't have been more wrong. The ' New ' manager has been like a new broom. He has swept
through the place with changes and upgrades seen throughout. New Alarm Systems, complete redecoration and totally new furniture throughout. There is a refreshing new attitude exhibited by all staff with the emphasis on ' Living ' and a real attempt to make all the Residents feel 'Special'. Cannot recommend Rosedale more highly. All credit to a super ' Team ' of carers.

From our initial visit to Rosedale in June we have been very impressed with the manager and the team of carers.

Mum is very happy with her care and so are we. The whole team at Rosedale are very caring and friendly. Mum loves to have a chat and she is getting to know the carers. Added to that mum

has a lovely bright and sunny room.

The home is clean and welcoming, a friendly small home… just what mum wanted.

When we heard Rosedale Care Home had changed ownership we were somewhat concerned but our fears were very quickly allayed. The new manager at Rosedale is fantastic and already knows all residents well and knows all visitors by name and welcomes you in a casual friendly manner. He is open to requests
and suggestions and responds very quickly, dealing with matters promptly and effectively. Since the takeover, there have been masses of improvements which have led to a bright, less cluttered environment which is extremely welcoming. It is particularly pleasing to see that most of the existing staff have remained, which means Mum remains happy with people she knows and has become fond of. The team are all friendly and care for Mum in a respectful way and are always happy to chat with her as she chooses to remain in her room most of the time, but she has a lovely view of the garden and can enjoy watching the birds. Mum receives good care at Rosedale and she is very happy there!

My aunt went into Rosedale last September. The staff have been, and still are, caring and respectful of my aunt's needs. The owner who has run the home for twenty-four plus years has now retired and sold to a new one. Most of the original staff have remained and are continuing to care under the new
management. This is a testimony to the sensitive and caring way the new management has managed the change.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.579)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.579) out of 10 for Rosedale Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.679 for Rosedale Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (77 Excellents x 5) + (24 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 106 Ratings = 4.679
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rosedale Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 18 registered maximum number of service users is 3.6, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
