My mother-in-law is treated with respect, dignity and kindness. The mood at Rosedale is 'up beat' and happy and once the activities are up and running will also be a more stimulating environment. There are some very positive planned changes and when completed it will be a truly lovely place to be. The
food always looks very appetising and residents now have a choice of meals which is wonderful. I always leave Rosedale knowing my mother-in-law is well cared for both physically and mentally.

The staff at Rosedale gives me a pleasant welcome and are friendly. My friend enjoys the view from her window and says the food is good. She finds her bed and chair just right. All the staff are respectful and kind. They have been strict about the Coronavirus rules.

My mother has been a resident since January 2022. The staff have always been very kind and caring, creating a very homely environment. The home recently underwent a change of ownership which is resulting in more investment in the appearance of the home, including the garden. I consider the home excellent
value for money and most importantly my mother is well cared for amongst staff that really care.

When my mum needed more care than I could give her we chose Rosedale because of its small size which was ideal for her. The excellent staff many of whom have been there for many years are all very kind and dedicated and have much compassion and empathy for the residents, and our loved ones in their
care. I know that my mum is happy and safe which in turn makes me happy as I know she is well-cared for. The home is now under new management who have identified several areas where they intend to make improvements for example decorating etc.

My mum came into the home for two weeks from hospital following a fall. We had already viewed Rosedale with the intention of arranging regular respite care, it was therefore our first choice for care when she was able to be discharged. The staff are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble and I felt
my mum was really looked after in a caring and respectful manner. Having permanent staff that the residents see on a daily basis is so important. We would have no hesitation in choosing Rosedale for future respite care.

What an amazing team there is at this home. It has a real family vibe. This has been retained after a recent management change too. The staff are all fully employed rather than agency workers and it is evident that each resident is respected and loved by each and everyone one of them.
The home has
recently been taken over due to the retirement of the previous owner. The new manager is really approachable and open for a chat. He remembers my name. He is open and honest and has made massive changes to the somewhat tired decor in a short space of time. His presence has reinvigorated the team. He is open to feedback from both staff and residents and will do his utmost to carry through in a timely manner. This home will have a bright and happy future. Social services picked this home as part of a care package for my mum. I feel blessed that they chose Rosedale. As a family of a resident, our opinions and wishes are listened to as well and accommodated to the best of the team's ability.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.579)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.579) out of 10 for Rosedale Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.679 for Rosedale Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (77 Excellents x 5) + (24 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 106 Ratings = 4.679
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rosedale Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 18 registered maximum number of service users is 3.6, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
