My friend has gone into this wonderful residential home and I cannot fault the care she has received from all the staff and their manager. The staff welcome visitors and the atmosphere is so good. It is home from home.

This is a really lovely care home the staff are all very committed and caring and go the extra mile to engage with the residents to ensure they are safe and happy. The atmosphere is much more welcoming and friendly than others I have visited. It is a lovely care home and I know my dad is well looked
after.

My father's dearest wish was never to go into an"old peoples home" but to stay in his own home and live independently. My family and I did all we could to support him in this. However, at 96 he was not strong enough to live safely on his own and we had to face up to finding him a new home for the next
phase of his life. I knew what we were looking for but never thought we would find it.
Then we visited Manorfield. A warm welcome greeted us and we had a very comprehensive tour. We were impressed and Father moved in. He steadily settled in and has adapted to his new life far better than we ever thought possible.
All the staff have been unfailingly kind to him and us. Any slight issues have been quickly resolved by the very proactive team of care assistants. Manorfield is well managed and equipped, calm and clean, but homely.
Father enjoys the food and always looks clean and well cared for. He says he is happy and has no complaints, a miracle! Thank you team Manorfield.

Manorfield is a very special home. My Mother was very settled there and would often tell me how kind and caring the staff were to her. Sadly she passed away in January but I couldn't have wished for a better place for her to spend her final days. The staff are friendly, kind, approachable and couldn't
have done more for her, always making sure Mum's needs were met and that she was happy and contended. They were dedicated to building a trusting relationship with her, which I feel is very important. Not living locally it was so reassuring for me to know Mum was in a home where she was well cared for and always treated with respect.

My mother went into Manorfield after the loss of my father. Shortly after she was admitted to hospital when she returned to Manorfield her nerves were bad and her dementia was all over the place. Manorfield got the dementia team in and have turned her life around with the dedication of the staff there
they have got mum back to the smiley happy lady she used to be.
They not only care for her but they go into her room and spend time chatting and joking with her. My mum is very happy there.

I have been made very welcome here and I'm most happy. The food is marvellous and the staff are attentive to me. I miss my bath but enjoy my shower. The bed is exceedingly comfortable. The only downside is that my toilet seat is too high!!

For the last 13 years, I have worked as a front line ambulance medic. I think I have been called to every local care home over the years - several times.
Manorfield has always impressed me the most. Lovely surroundings, a small holding with pigs, chickens, goats etc... It's like a big Spanish bungalow,
big airy rooms.
Every member of staff has always been very knowledgeable about every resident, Manorfield does not employ agency staff.
When my mother in law needed a home there was absolutely no questions about where I wanted her to be. And from March 2016 to present I couldn't wish for better care.

Spacious accommodation with modern, clean, en-suite bathing/showering/WC facility. Helpful staff. Residents can ask for special dietary requirements to be catered for. They can also arrange hairdressing, chiropody, and newspaper (which resident pays for from own funds that are held securely by the home),
and may bring own television. Entertainment is arranged for the residents in a pleasant lounge. The building is in a nice environment.

Manorfield is outstanding! I moved my mother from another local home which I felt to be substandard and I am thrilled at the difference. Brilliant caring care from the whole team - responsive, practical, intelligent pro-active, and understanding. I could not ask for better for my mother.

We viewed several Care Homes in the area together with our sister, the current resident, and Manorfield rated extremely high on our short list. We remain delighted that we chose Manorfield. It is in a nice location, has a pleasant garden and patio space.

Rooms vary in size and we were lucky to secure

a good sized room with en-suite facilities. A well equipped main sitting area with TV provides space for events and activities that residents are encouraged to attend. A sun lounge with a computer facility offers alternative space. Meals are served in the dining room although residents may if they wish eat in their room and the menu offers a good choice. Light refreshments are offered to residents (and visitors) during the day.

Manorfield provides a friendly service and homely atmosphere for its residents. Manorfields greatest asset is its staff lead by a professional and dedicated Manager. The staff are well trained, positive and treat the residents with care, affection and dignity.

I think my only comments are as follows:
i) The food could be more healthy i.e. no white bread, but I understand the residents may not want this or will have conservative tastes.
ii) My mother has a call buzzer in the corridor outside her room which is loud and annoying, at times particularly as
the lady opposite is constantly pressing hers. I think you should relocate it or make it quieter or think of another way of residents calling staff.

My aunt has only been living at Manorfield for a couple of months having gone initially for respite care. The care and attention she has received has been excellent since the moment she arrived. Her mobility, independence and general wellbeing has improved considerably. She enjoys many of the activities
and has made new friends. A big thank you to everyone in the Manorfield team for making her transition from home into residential care such a success.

My step-mother has been a resident of the above home for almost 10 years. My father was also a resident there until his death in 2009 and my mother spent 3 month recuperating there after a serious fall. I cannot speak highly enough of the care that they have all received and my step-mother continues
to enjoy.
The manager is exceptional, always displaying great kindness and compassion, as do all the staff in my experience. It is a very welcoming, well-run home and I have recommended it several times to friends who now have relatives in there as well.

Visited this lovely care home recently with a friend. We were greeted by a lovely friendly carer. They showed us to our friend who talked about his home in such a lovely way. We saw the lunch being served and it was off a high quality. Looking forward to visiting again in the summer.

We had an unfortunate circumstance of my friend going into hospital, and needed some care for her husband for the time she was going to be in hospital.
We contacted Manorfield to see if they had a room and were able to take him for the time she would be in, by chance they did, so my friend could have
peace of mind knowing that he would be well looked after in a wonderful homely environment.
The staff made him very welcome especially as he had never been away from home, they were all extremely kind and very caring towards him, they made him feel as though it was home from home.

My mother came to Manorfield from her home where she had lived for 67 years, so the move was initially quite difficult for her. The staff completely understood her concerns and reassured her every step of the way.
I am so pleased that my Mother now looks at Manorfield as her home and I appreciate the
dedication of the staff in making her life safe and comfortable.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.944)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.944) out of 10 for Manorfield Residential Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 24 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.944 for Manorfield Residential Home is calculated as follows: ( (270 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 286 Ratings = 4.944
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Manorfield Residential Home is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 28 registered maximum number of service users is 5.6, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
