Oakhill took great care of my father during his time there. His end-of-life care was excellent, and they were a great support to our family. He was always well looked after, happy and content. We can't thank them enough.

Our family will forever be grateful to the wonderful staff and nurses at Oakhill House, who were there when we were no longer able to meet my father's needs. These amazing people made sure that my father was treated with respect, dignity and love at all times. They made it their mission to ensure that his every day was filled with fun activities and chatted to him like an old friend. They became part of our extended family, providing love and support to my mum and at all times making us feel part of the ongoing care process. We cannot thank them enough.

Dad has been here for a month now and he is being kept clean and fed very well. Some days he gets up for meals and activities and other days he is too tired and sleeps a lot in bed. He seems calm and happy and is enjoying his food.

My sister has been in Oakhill for over a year now, and other than the activities being hit and miss sometimes, I can't fault the care, and the staff are so helpful and willing to help in any way they can.

I am very happy to see one lady back; she is welcoming and always has time to stop and talk.

Review from A L (Partner of Resident) published on 21 February 2023 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

Not enough staff on activities, often left for long periods. Too much time spent writing. The fire alarm left ringing with nobody knowing what to do. Shall we take residents from the lounge to the garden (visitors)? Not enough supervision of residents. Activities fitted around time left over after reporting/writing. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, always addressing you by your first name.

Reply from Diane Kerwin, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Oakhill House Care Home

We are so sorry to hear that the activities are not up to the standard that we expect. Our residents do deserve a much better experience. We are meeting with the team next week to review all of the activities and a better way of working. The team will also be meeting with our Quality of Life...

Since being welcomed to Oakhill in 2019, she has blossomed, and came out of her shell. The care and kindness shown by all at the care home has been wonderful. The care is 10/10 without hesitation, even during covid 19.

The only slight negative is communication by phone is very hit and miss at best, and could be improved upon. I cannot thank them enough for giving quality of life during my mother in laws last years. Thank you.
